state of mind

Post by Valb »

I'm brand new here. I'm on my fourth day of "stimming" and feel great so far. I have PMS under normal circumstances and was wondering if these drugs have any emotional side effects...or if it's pretty smooth for most people. Thanks!

Hi Val,

I felt fine, mentally, all the way through stimming. I didn't think I would have done after reacting badly to Clomid six years ago.
But I was quite focused and I didn't have any side effects emotionally.
I felt a bit rough physically though, my tummy was sore towards the end of stimming - nothing too bad - but I was on the verge of OHSS which made me feel a bit worse than usual.
But apart from that it was happy sailing!
The drugs affect people in different ways but by the sound of it you're doing just fine!
Good luck :)

Hi Val - Welcome to the Site.

Got to say that there are so many different drugs used, and everyone reacts so differently. Even I, having had 3 cycles, have reacted differently to the same drug on the last cycle, as opposed to cycles 1+2. Now work that one out !

It is, however, pretty normal to be emotional during tmt - hormones all over the place .... Optimistic one minute - all doom and gloom the next. As long as you know it's pretty normal, you're halfway there !

If you want to start a new thread, in the Introductions Forum, and post your background/history there, it'll give folk a chance to meet you.

On this current forum (where we are now), girls who are cycling at the same time group together in months. So, you're a June / July cycle buddy. If you post on that thread with your updates, you'll be with others around the same stage of treatment as you.

Then, when you've been through your cycle and you have a test date, Little P will add your name to the Test List (gosh - it'll be the July or even Aug Test Date thread by then ..).

Whilst you're waiting to test, you can then join the July or Aug 2ww (2 week wait, between end of treatment and test date) thread, where everyone is in the same situation, and slowly going crazy together ..!

If you have a look at the first thread in this forum, it's dedicated to all the abbreviations we use (there are many !).

Good luck with your cycle .. !

Hello Val,
Like the other posters I can only say that everyone reacts differently. I've never had too many side effects, just a sore tummy from the injections and very tender and bloated (that takes ages to go for me).
Everyone is very friendly and supportive, especially as everyone really knows what you're going through.
Hope you get the support and info you need on here.

Love
