Has anyone been diagnosed with poly-cystic ovaries on this site?
I am still waiting for my 1st iui, having had a scan on fri they think i have mild poly as there were alot of follicles present and i am on no drugs at mo.They said could only be mild as i don't have all the symptoms ie. i do have periods and am not overweight.
Felt really fed up as surely they could have found this out 3 years ago after endless blood tests, ultrasound and lap.
Feel like i am going backwards rather than forwards!
The hospital said i may need mild drugs to make sure i ovulate as on fri day 10 there was no enlarged follicle ,off for scan tomorrow day 15 to see if any have matured. (my cycle average 33days)
Would welcome any advice on poly ovaries.

Quite often most women are diagnosed with polycystic ovaries but if its mild dont work yourself over it,i have been told many times i have pcos mild.i have periods,i ovulate i think,as the periods are regular but i suffer from acne.
Anyways i dont think that means you infertile or anything,we have severe male factor so we had to do IVF/ICSI/PESA and worked first time,i have twins 7years old and i am doing my 3rd treatment,2nd failed.takecare and dont worry about PCOS
I agree - dont worry! I have PCOS (not too badly, but irregular periods). Due to reasons other than PCOS, we went straight to ICSI but I do know many girls respond well to the drugs for ovulation.
When I was first diagnosed I did look at a couple of good books. Cant remember the names now. I was a bit overwhelmed by the info and also the extent to which some ladies suffer - once diagnosed and on the irght diet/exercise they felt like diffferent people. Nothing life changing happened to me but I have realised how important exercise is to keep all those hormones balanced. You could look on amazon for PCOS books.
Perhaps you just have PCO, without the S. I think that's possible.
Good luck and baby dust to you for this IUI.

I think a lot of women (approx 20% according to info I have read from my clinic) can have polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome (which can affect fertility). They may have no idea unless it is picked up on an ultrasound. We have just had IVF due to male factor and they said I had borderline polycystic ovaries (I have no symptoms at all, so had no idea). The only potential problem with this was they had to take care with the drugs in case I overstimulated. However, they were too cautious and I didnt respond at all at first!
Good luck with your treatment
Love Kim.

Oh Joanna. I am sorry to hear that. I know that u have been waiting for this....... and now this, I can understand how u feel my dear.
Life is so cruel, I know u just want tp get started and all.... So what happened on Friday? Has this IUI cycle been cancelled???
I dont know much about PCOS. but in th early days I was told that i might have it mildly, turned out I didn't....... I couldn't understand how they could say that, I had no symptons of having PCOS, but the doctor said possably I did. I dont think she should have said that until it was certain.
Let me know whats going on Jo, Hugs to you.... x x x

Well where do i start, went for another scan on wednesday and no sign og ovulation on day 15 so just going to have another on tues to see if i did.
They are not convinced that i ovulate every month which is a symptom of poly and there was alot of follies there.
Then the Dr said ok maybe we should skip iui as it seems my ovaries are proving difficult to stimulate, with drugs too many follies without not enough, both of you sign this form and well get it sent off huh?
Turns out we are eligible for free ivf!!!!!!!!
Don't know how many cycles probably only one,but we fall into the right criteria
:i am between 36-39 (36 next month)
:Trying to concieve 3 years
:healthly bmi
:No previous children
:No treatment before
:non-smokers
:Normal fsh level
Turns out the Government have finally got there fingers out and made a decision and no waiting list!!!!
The Dr said she is 99.9% sure we will get it so we are really chuffed probably start treatment in August.
How are you doing are you going to have another try at iui?
