Hi Sandra - just put a note for you on June/July cycle thread. People keep saying it's a bit strange having all my dates - is it unusual? My clinic seems to work to very regulated patterns so dates are mostly right give ior take a day or two if things grow at a different rate. I hope this doesn't compromise the treatment - maybe I'd be better off with a clinic where each cycle is completely individual. Does anyone else have a very regimented protocol? Thanks for adding me, Cherylx

Hi Cheryl ... Don't worry, I'm sure your tmt isn't being compromised. When I did my first tmt I kept a diary of exactly how things progressed, key dates etc. From that, when I was about to begin my 2nd fresh cycle, I calculated when EC/ET were due. I was only out by a day. It's just that my hospital didn't give you any definites in advance .. you went from day to day, waiting / ready for the next stage and dates. I suppose it gives them the option of stimming you for a couple more / less day etc.

Oh I see - that makes sense. My clinic gives me a list of dates as soon as it starts and they like to keep to those as much as possible because they try and regulate everyone in the same week onto the same cycle to make it easier - it's rather like a conveyor belt and amuses me greatly because we're all behind curtains in a row going down for transfer one after the other but you never get to see or speak to any of the other people but you can hear all about each other's treatment through the voices. It's very bizarre - makes me feel odd - what are other people's experiences like? Cherylx

Oh Cheryl ... Mine's worse. When you go down to Theatre for ET, you sit in the corridor waiting for your turn. You see the couple who have just had it done, then when you're done, you pass the next couple who are sat there waiting. Very bizarre !

OMG - what do they think we are - zoo creatures? I'm always amazed by how inhuman the whole procedure is - but can also be very amusing. Do you also get students coming to ask if they can have a look? I've had a couple at each treatment having a good old gawp at me lower regions and they're chatting away to the Doctors between my legs!! Me and DH were hysterical in ET as I was trying to stay still and they kept appearing up between my legs chatting to us! Cherylx

LOL ! Oh Yes .. I've had students in when I've been for u/s. "Do you mind .. ?" "Whatever". Then, feel like saying "why now lock the door ? - surely, the more the merrier".

Last ET I think there was 6 of them in theatre .. Embryologist, Consultant, stenographer, 2 x nurses, Ass. Embryologist (I think) ... Consultant talking to both of us about Blackburn Rovers whilst he was prodding me ... em ! I DON'T CARE ABOUT BLACKBURN ROVERS !!
