Hi all
Apart from the joys of IVF to deal with it would appear that I'm also now going bald!! OK maybe a bit of an exaggeration but I am losing a hell of a lot of hair. DH seems convinced its the swings in hormones caused by all the drugs I was taking (we failed our cycle last month) and that seems logical but just wondered if anyone else has had the same thing happen?
Been away from the PC for a couple of days and can't beleive how much I've missed so Loads of love to everyone out there xxxxxxxxxxxx
Terri
xxxxx
HI terri,i think all these drugs do the weirdest of things.I have the complete opposite,i have hair growing at such speed its frightening.Dh thinks its hilarious as its even on my (bum cheeks).
God i cant believe im telling you all this.
I did also notice that after our 2nd go and the mc that i even now have a few grey hairs(im only 30,YIKES).
The things we go through, dealing with all this as well as the treatment and all the let downs,i think that makes us pretty special people.
Hope that made you feel a bit better.
Take care
lol
sammyxxxxxxxxxxx
Terri,

I haven't got any advice I'm afraid, I just wanted to thank Sammy for giving me a laugh today.

In fact Sammy I think you should change your username to hairy bum, as it would brighten all of our days every time you posted.

Take care both

Suzanne.x

Hi guys and Hairy Butt,

You lucky girl, I will kill to have more hair! Although, some advice for Terri, it might not only be the hormones but stress too. This story has nothing to do with the baby business, but when I was 13 yrs, about 75% of my hair came out, doctors said it could be hormones, but I was bullied a lot at school and when I changed schools, it started coming back slowly! It has never quite been the same (I had really thick hair) but at least 50% has returned! I do use a lot of special shampoos when I get stressed, like now, things like tar shampoos. They will at least slow the braking down, but stopping the balding????? I don't know! Just don't WORRY about it, more will come out if you DO!!!!!!

As for hairy butt, your dh is just jeleous you are growing extra hair and he is probably losing it!!! Ha Ha Ha!!

Take care
Savannah xx
Hi all

Terri - just wanted to sympathise with you really........ and ask a question! Is your hair falling out in a specific area?

There is something called alopecia, and its generally connected with stress, in my case it's how stress shows itself and it runs in our family!

This year has been a bad one for us (Feb - told need IVF, April #1 - chemical pregnancy, July FET - chemical pregnancy, October #2 - straightforward negative!).

Now decided to take some major time out and started on plans for the house and not even thinking about going for FET until at least April next year.

A couple of weekends away (one with the girls and one with a group of friends and dh!) and heh presto, my first 50 pence size bald patch appears (it's not noticeable as its at the back of my head!).

So the theory is, when we finally stop stressing and start chilling, in my case my hair falls out!

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, I really hope your hair loss isn't too bad.

Love Sue
x
Hi Girlies,
Thanks for your replies, I suppose stress could be a big factor. I'm not losing it in any specific area just seems to be coming out all over. Lierally have to clear the plug-hole everyday after I've had a shower and then lose another load when I dry my hair.
Trying to stay calm about it 'cos I don't want to get more stressed and have that add to the problems.
Thanks for the tip about the shampoos Savannah, I'm off down to Boots before I have to start designing a comb-over
LOL
Terri
xxxxxx
Hi Terri,

I think this time of year is also one where there is a lot of hair loss. Spoke to some non IVF / pregnant friends and they too are having lots of hair loss . As long as you're not bald I would n't worry

Susi
