Righty-ho Paige!

Already planning on sitting my DH down tonight - to be honest as stressful as its gonna be - i don't think he can WAIT to get stuck in. its a nice feeling.....................................

thanks for the tip and yes, it is getting hard now - very hard. can't belive how bulbous my ankles are - i've always had slim feet - if not the prettiest - but now they are fat ugly things - just like the rest of me................ :(

Valli - glad everything is as you say 'perfect' at the moment. i have a scan too, on monday. Let us know how you get on!

Love always

Toni:

I'm cracking up at your feet comment. Mine swelled horribly as well, and I normally have such bony skinny ankles....which I love!

Be prepared for them to get worse after you deliver...I'll bet it took 2-3 weeks for my kidney's to pump out all of the fluids that are put into you via IV for a C-Section. So don't freak out when you get home and they are worse than when you went in. On a happy note......you'll be be peeing out lbs of water...seriously, you'll lose lbs every day until the swelling is gone :D

Hi Everyone,
My name is shyla and I was posting before but now i am just following all of your progress regulary (and no I am not spying :-))... its really nice to know about all the progresses that you all have made and congrats everyone.

The reason i am posting now is for Valli. Valli I have sent u a personal message regarding the visa problem you had for your mom. I had the same experience and was able to solve the problem and now my mom will be here in a week. I am not sure if you checked your messages and there was no email - id of yours so that I could mail you. Hence I am posting to tell you to check your personal message and try.

All the best to all the soon-to-be moms... i am 33 weeks now and having a girl.

-With best wishes to everyone

Just popped on to say HI !! :)

Nothing new to report here.

Just wanted to thank Paige for the words of advice - it's a really great help at the moment to get as much info as possible.

Hello Shyla, congratulations on your baby girl !! :)

Jen - How's the BP ? Hope it's settled down.

Sophie J - Sounds like working out a birth plan has really helped to calm your nerves. I would definately have considered a water birth it sounds so natural.

Valli - Hope you're OK. It's lovely that DH is being so supportive but such a shame about your mum. A big hug for you !!

Toni - How's it going girl ?

Jackie - Sounds like you've got an album full of scan photos already, what are you going to be like when Stitch arrives !! He's going to be the most photographed baby ever. It will be great for him when he gets older, children love looking at their baby photos ( I still do !! )

Elizabeth - One more day to go and then you can put your feet up, relax and have some well deserved pampering time.

Take care

Hi everybody

Just a quick message to tell you about our 'eventful' day yesterday.

I was seen by the consultant in clinic and mentioned that I hadn't felt 'Stitch' move around for almost 2 days. There was the odd prod but only about 2 in 24 hours. Anyway the midwife did all the usual checks -got heartbeat straight away which was the best sound in the world! When she checked my BP though it was 150/100. Obviously they were worried about this especially due to me being on 8 bp tablets a day and there isn't much scope because the only other tabs safe in pregnancy give me major migranes. Anyway I was sent over to Fetal Wellbeing.

They repeated my BP and luckily it had dropped some, they think hearing the baby calmed me down a bit. Also took bloods but my vein gave up so they could just about get one bottle but had to write on my records couldn't get the other (it took about 10 minutes for the blood to go into one bottle even though it is my bestest vein. Then I was put on the monitor for 45 minutes, there was hardly anything until the last 2-3 minutes when Stitch kicked about 4 times so we were very relieved. Then I was sent for an ultrasound was taken straight through so that was good. He weighs 2956g now and we have another 2 pics of his head and got to see him for ages while she checked everything out. It still makes me cry whenever I see him on screen, still can't believe it is real.

After scan went back to clinic to see consultant, he has arranged for the midwife to come to my house on Monday to take BP and I also see her next Friday. After that I am to see her at least once a week for monitoring. I am also seeing BP consultant on Monday and I need to ask what options there are if it goes back up. Like I said it had come down a bit so hopefully it was just stress that had caused the problem.

Consultant booked me in for my c-section on 12th July. In just over 3 weeks I will be a mummy!!!!! Will see anaethatist on 7th July for full workup etc and I will be the first section in the afternoon on the 12th. We were at hospital for 3 hours 40 minutes -appointment was at 8.40am so I was really looked after.

Anyway, I'm off to lay down, still not sleeping and I am very tired. John left for Switzerland at 4.40am today so watched lots of baby programs on Discovery until 8am. I feel like I should be 'nesting' but haven't got the energy although I did put the carpet down in nursery on my own 2 weeks ago, built up the furniture for nursery on Monday, and have washed and ironed 12 machine loads of clothes and bedding we have bought for 'Stitch'. Packed his hospital bag last night, so just mine to go.

Hope everyone else is ok and enjoying the last few weeks before baby. I still fid it hard to believe we have managed to get this far.

Hi Girls

Jackie - how exciting to be booked in for the C-section!!

I have had a pretty similar experience to you.............my B/P went up again yesterday to 160/100 and was sent from Consultants clinic straight to Maternity Hospital for monitoring for that and the fact that baby had not moved a lot for 48 hrs.........turns out all is ok at the mo........B/P settled a little.......so just got to go back again on Weds!

Getting pretty fed up.......can hardly move........load and loads of Braxton Hicks and everything swollen........really want little one to make his/her exit.........I've waited long enough to meet him/her!!

Hope everyone else is doing ok??

Take care and hugs

Hello girls

Jen - I know what you mean about being swollen, my fingers look like sausages and my once long, thin feet look like big fat planks of wood !! It's good that they're keeping a close eye on your blood pressure, that must be reassuring. I guess lack of space is making it harder for the baby to move as much, it's going to be such a relief when they're here isn't it. Then we can concentrate on a whole new load of worries on a different forum !! :?

Jackie - The 12th July, that's my dad's birthday !! :) Not long to go now.

Have to say this weather, lovely though it is, is pretty hard work for us pregnant girls !! I'm finding it even harder to sleep than usual, and it's pretty hard most nights as it is !!

Still, our babies will soon be here and it will all be worth it !! :D

Hope all you other girls are doing OK

Love

Hi all,
I haven't been around much recently as like you guys I am feeling very uncomfortable and swollen. I just want to put my feet in bowls of cold water / ice. I am still working, so just coming home and going straight to bed. My flower pots are looking a bit shrivelled but I just haven't got the energy to water the garden each night.
Jen and Kim - you are so close now. Kim - when is your actual date again.
Jen - you are 38 weks now, so it could be any minute. I'm getting so excited for you. Take it easy. Have they said they might do a 'sweep' thing to try and start labour. They did this for my sister at 39 weeks as her Bp was getting higher.
jackie - glad to see all was well at the hosp the other day. What an eventful time you had, but must be reassuring to see stitch. I haven't seen baby for 15 weeks. I dont get many big kicks just little wriggles.
Toni - sorry I forgot to reply before - but Soph or Sophie is fine. I'm normally only called Sophie-Jane when I've done something wrong!!! Are those twins allowing you any room to breath!!!!
valli - hope things are OK for you. Hopefully Shylas info has given you some good news.
Shyla - a little girl too. Lovely to hear from you and do keep in touch with us .. especially if you are as neuroltic and anxious as us as it will make us feel normal!!
Elizabeth ... have you left work yet?

Is it bloody hot or what. All weekend I just sat in my paddling pool. My cellulite is appalling . Weught increase has levelled off a bit but still put on 2 1/2 stone :(
I can't remember what it was like to have a flat (ish) tummy !!
but I must admit I am now getting excited about the whole thing :D . Still wake up some mornings wanting an elected ceasarean though.
Oh my god we are all so nearly there ... I've got 5 1/2 weeks until edd. I can't believe it really.
All the best

Hi guys

Sorry not been around much - very swollen now - cant believe the size of my feet. And I couldnt get my engagement and wedding rings off last week, so when I EVENTUALLY did after a lot of ice water to reduce the swelling, they have stayed off. its very sad not to be able to wear them - we have been m,arried less than 2 years and our anniversary is coming up (July 12th - Jackie and Kim! What a date eh!) You are all having babies on my important/memorable dates - how funny........ :D

Had ante-natal on monday and another scan - both babies are fine, tho i was concerned as the movement seems to have really dropped. I have been given this 'Kick-chart' where i have to count 20 kicks a day (its usually 10, but they doubled it for twins). thing is, all the movemt i feel is on my right where my baby girl is lying, the left where the boy is is pretty much still all day! If i dont feel much movement soon i will be checking into the hopsital and refusing to leave!!!!

State of things - well im only 32+1 weeks, but its looks like it could be fairly soon now. Midwife and I think the next 2-3 weeks. im showing all the signs apparently, puffyness, and fidgetty. plus the facts are that both babies are head down, growth is tailing off, and one baby was so low down (little Charlotte) that it took ages to get a scan of the head (and it bloody hurt when they did!!). the lady scanning said to me there and then, 'looks like they are getting ready, and this one is going to be first!'
Got a really cute pic of the little boys profile, he has a huge nose already it looks like! Im so fed up with this heat and the way Im feeling, I just want it all to be over now. spent most of the wee

No personals today as its too hot, and my feet need elevating! i can feel them swelling as I sit here! Im so fed up with this heat and the way Im feeling, I just want it all to be over now. Spent a good deal of the weekend feeling very low, and started sobbing on saturday afternoon. (much to DH's distress! bless him!)

Love and kisses to all

Toni xx

Hi everyone,

Thanks for asking about me, yes, I'm officially on leave from work, first annual leave, then maternity leave on the 12th of July. Had to finsih up some report s at home but all done now. Feel soo good lately (sorry to everyone suffering with swollen feet etc..but sinc eI tend to be on the bony, angular side it has not been too bad at all with me, so far that is...things might be different later on, I'm sure. Also I love the heat, it makes me feel terrific, it is the cold I hate..anyway,
this heat is nothing for me believe me, when you've grown up with 100+ F heat AND humidity, also I'm in Newcastle where it doesn;t get too hot) One thing I do suffer from though are the piles (hemmerhoids for the states side girls) from hell..they really are uncomfortable, sore, itchy and anusol doesn't do that much, really. They will be super painful after birth, I've been warned...

Baby has dropped, much lower in the pelvis now, I think-I'm 35+1 weeks, and still getting plenty of movement, like Sophie, alot of wriggling, the baby has a good kick early in the AM sometimes..very cute.

Since dropping, I have felt strange pains, as if the baby is scratching my cervix, lower end of my uterus, with his nails..it really is the most uncomfortable pains I've expereinced yet..I'll ask my mid wife on Friday, as I'm not worried, but has anyone else experienced this?? I cn't imagine it is the baby but who knows?

Sorry no personals..I've not been able to keep up because of work and I still am trying to recover...not doing anything the whole day right now but eating and resting has done me wonders..feel sorry for you/can empathise SophieJ with still working..when do you take your leave?

All best,
Elizabeth

Hi Gals,
Had the biweekly scan yesterday. Baby is fine weighing almost 6lbs. I am 33weeks now. Wonderful thing is baby's head is down now(she was in breech position earlier). She made to turn herself. The doctor that I saw yesterday didn't change anything of the c-section, because its the other doctor's decision. When I go for my non stress test next week, I'll be seeing my regular docotr. I think she still considers the c-section, beacuse of the size of the baby.
Shyla, Thank you for your tip. I sent you a personal mail. I have been checking the site for appointments, but no luck so far.
Love to everyone.

Hi all,
Wow Toni it looks like you might be seeing your babies soon. Dont worry too much about the boy not moving .. he's obviously growing well and no concerns have shown up on the scans.
Elizabeth .. I too have a scratching at my cervix. It feels like baby's hand is there (although I dont think it is because I've been told that baby's head is 3/5th engaged. I can't say its a real pain, but just uncomfortable and makes me want to cross my legs and squeeze. That reminds me I keep on forgetting to do my pelvic floor exercises. The otehr day I was shopping with my mum, and she got her trousers stuck in the wheels of the trolley ... I was laughing so much I wee'd myself. Is this the first of the slippery slope to incontinence. Its my worst nightmare buying "Tenna ladies".

WEll I had one of my panics today. I decided that the baby's movements were actually hiccups, and that she was getting three or four bouts of hiccups a day. So I read my pregnancy book, and this told me that it could be a sign that the cord is caught around the baby's neck. So I rang the midwife and she agreed to see me. Baby's heartbeat was fine, and she told me not to worry but just to monitor the other movements. These books sometimes make things worse don't they. I just so want a scan but midwife says no need.
I finish work on Tuesday .. Yippeee. I inspect children's homes, and have all my inspections up to date but just now trying to finish off the reports. Not sure whether I'll get it all done.
I ordered my TENS machine today!!
Hope everyone else is OK. Valli - glad that baby is fine. Its so nice just getting that reassurance once in a while.
best wishes

Hi girls

Had my last midwife appointment yesterday and she seemed happy with our progress. The baby's still quite active, his head is down and he has a nice strong heartbeat. As for me, I feel really well, my BP is fine and my swollen hands and feet are pregnany/ weather related so no wories there. I have to go to the hospital on Monday for bloods to be taken ready for my c-section on Wednesday.
At the midwife appointment I bumped into a lady from my antenatal class who had a planned c-section 2 weeks ago. She said everyone was wonderful and just chatted to her and DH through the procedure and that it was a lovely experience so that made me feel slightly less nervous.
So I'm just counting down the days now - it's all going so fast !!! In no time at all we're going to be posting news of new arrivals, I can hardly believe it !!

Love to all
