How long for AF after a -ve

Post by eskavon »

I know this is a delicate one but I just wanted to ask how long after a -ve do you wait for AF. If I explain my situation, my AF arrived on t he day I should have been testing, so confirming a -ve. But I'm waiting for my next AF now, was due last weekend and still no signs. There's been the normal back ache and some pains but nothing yet. The consultant did say my cycle would go to pot but does anyone have any experience?
Cheers me dears

Hi Eskavon. Mine arrived properly 2 days after my -ve test and then on time for the next month. I would love to read a never give up story from you! I did read a thread a while ago about having to wait though. Congratulations on getting funding for your next cycle.

It's always tempting to kid yourself you might be pg (though in Minnow's case a miracle did happen) but I have found AF always arrives late after a -ve. I am a very regular 28-day person and the first AF after April's arrived a few days late and the one just now arrived 5 days late. Takes a while for your system to get back to normal.

Thanks for your replies, Dancola I know what you mean, I have no symptoms whatsoever and am almost positive that I'm not pg. I just wanted reassurance that it happens to others.
Claire, thanks for the note, hope things are well with you.

Hope you are ok and by the time you read this you will have been to see U2 - bet it was cool 8) :!:

My AF was late after -ve result earlier this year, think it's a fairly common thing sadly. BUT you never know, stranger things have happened and you might just need that hpt

Haven't been around much recently, work is chaos as my boss is off ill (they don't know yet I am planning on having my 2ww off  , have discussed with dh and will go off sick if necessary, certainly for the first week anyway!)

Speak to you soon

Hi Eskavon

Just to let you know my negative was 13th May and AF arrived 20th June - Nicki is right it will arrive when you relax - I know that is MUCH easier said than done :!: :!:

I hope it arrives soon - I was pleased when it arrived but I have been in a foul mood since

how long after -ive

Post by heather14 »

My 2ww ended on June 24 with a BFN and my lovely AF arrived this morning. Thankfully I did not have to wait too long after that dreadful day. Now I have to decide if I want to do ivf in 21 days or take a month off. It will be my 3rd time and I do not know if I have it in me after 2 failed times. The hardest part is trying to stay strong. How much stronger must I be?
