Question for ladies in 2nd or 3rd trimester

Post by k »

Hi, just wondering if someone with more 'experience' could reassure me.
I will be 11 wks pregnant tommorrow (with a singleton) and a couple of days ago I felt as if I had more pressure lower down, as if my pelvic floor had 'dropped' slightly. I have no other symptoms (apart from the usual AF type pains Ive been getting all through pregnancy) but I just wondered if this was normal at this stage. I will be seeing the midwife on wednesday, but just hoping someone can put my mind at rest!
Thanks!
Kim

Hi Kim,
Its most probably your uterus changing shape and pressing on your bladder. I can remember having pains in my 'fanny' (sorry don't know whats a nice word to call it  ) during the first trimester, and just weeing all the time.
Hope your midwife can answer your queries.
Congratulations by the way!!!!! :)

Hi Sophie-jane

Thanks for your reply. Sorry, Ive only just seen it, I havent kept on eye on this post recently. Thankyou so much. Ive also had pains 'down there!!' so im glad im not the only one. I was worried I had a urine infection this week because of some pains and my bladder not emptying very much sometimes (but other times perfectly normal). I am lucky though to have a friend who is a midwife and she has reassured me. (I also work at a vets and can monitor myself with the urine teststicks!!! So she has advised me what to look out for and im ok at the moment!! The test sticks are the same as human ones, so im ok!)
There are so many different aches and pains arent there? You get used to some and then have new ones to worry about!
Thanks again and all the best for you and DH with your baby due. Hope everything goes well for you.
Love Kim
