SORRY..DODGY COMPUTER!

As I was saying...as the HFEA feees increased from £40 to £100 on the 1st November we owe them money..did anyone know about this? We were not told...and we started injecting in October - just had ec and et in November...I am so angry..not only to be asked for this money after paying so much..but to be asked in such a rude way and also to be sent the letter just 4 days after a -ive test!!!

Had to moan...working on a very rude letter..

love Becky B

Becky,
We were told by my clinic that the fees were going up but as we had ET in October it wouldn't effect us, so maybe the key date is the E/T date??
Good Luck
Terri
xxx

Hiya becky hun,
What a bummer!!! we had kinda the same experience as we weren't told till the day of our IUI that the prices had gone up. Instead of being £850 all in, including drugs, we ended up paying £1300. was a bit of a shock to say the least. we had to scramble around trying to find the money, and we literally robbed peter to pay paul. we have ended up getting a loan of £7000 to pay off the credit cards and pay for the rest of our treatment. But i do agree that it's outrageous to charge so much, and it was completely insensitive coming the way that it did. I'd love to see a copy of that letter youre writing. you give em hell girl!!! anyways, i test again tomorrow, cant really see the point as af is here in full flood!!! you take care hun.
Loadsa love,
Heather xxx
Got pregnant with IUI triplets in March 04. One triplet stopped growing at 9 weeks. Gave birth to twin boys in Sep 04, Ciaran sadly lost his fight. Brennan's thriving.Looking to give Brennan a sibling soon.

Dear Becky,

There's seem to be so much in the press at the moment about IVF clinics just doing it for the money (I know that the HFEA fees are separate) but it seems that each cycle is just like writing a blank cheque! What a cheek for them to send it to you after your bad news - I guess that you're now just another failure statistic to them now.

Hope the letter does some good, but I guess the hands of the clinic are tied as it's the HFEA that put the prices up.

Alison P
