FSH Please please help!!!

Hello Please can somone help me out hear just over a year ago I had my FSH levels checked and I had a result of 7.4 which Doc said was great anyway I couldnt continue with IVF at that time because i could'nt afford it then well now I can afford it so had a another FSH result yesterday and I could'nt believe the result it has gone up to 12.8 which I was told is'nt really good and now I have to go on to the max drugs they do I am worried that IVF just wont work now and also is it true that a high level is when your nearing the menapause I dont know why they have gone up so much in just over a year I am 26 years old and I wont see the Doc to talk about the result untill the 15th of January so please please help can IVF work with such a high result I feel so down at the moment. Hi Debs...I am also 26 and my FSH is 12.4 - I had to have the max dose of drugs and didnt respond very well ..although they did get 7 follies - 3 eggs..all of which fertilised farily well and had 2 put back...I did achieve a pregnancy ..but lost it very early on as my blood showed that I had low levels of HCG..so it should work for you. I have decided that I wont have another go as it was very stressful with the ..might get cancelled as not responding..okay things are now working..now they are not...yes they are now..kind of thing - plus feel a bit funny about having any more drugs as had so many on last (my 1st go) go. I hope that this hasn't depressed you but I would rather be honest.. Take care and good luck in what ever you decide...dh and I are going to go for adoption in a year or so.. love becky b

Debs, I am no expert but my FSH level was 12.8 [ undoubtedly due to my age}. I therefore needed the max dose of drugs. Fortunately I managed 10 eggs,7 fertilised- 6 were good grade.I had 2 embryos replaced and heard this week that I am pregnant.Hpoe this gives you some reassurance.I think it will be determined by how your body responds to the medication. Hi there I too was on the max dose of gonal f as I am overweight. I had 17 eggs , 14 fertilized , and I had 2 put back in. I got pregnant with these but sadly miscarried at 6 weeks. I was told that it was just one of those things and nothing to do with the ivf or drugs so hopefully this eases your mind love woppa

Thankyou to all the girls who replied to my message it has eased my worries alot you see i expected there maybe a rise or fall to my results but just never expected to go that high and it shocked me a bit but anyway thankyou all for reading and helping me through my stresses. anyway I just have to have a smear test done monday and wait for the results as soon as there in and are hopefully OK I can wait for the first day of my period and give them a ring to start treatment so i should hopefully be starting in January some time wish me luck and thanks again.
