Hi everyone

Just wanted to see you any of you (UK) girls saw Zita West on 'This morning'. It was very interesting. She was giving general advice on how to improve chances of concieving and answering peoples questions. I think if you check out 'This morning' on the ITV website there will be something about it. Mind you, us lot are probably experts ourselves now on IVF and conception. They were discussing an 'infertility timebomb' and saying how in the next few years 1 in 3 couples may be seeking help in concieving.
Hope you are all doing ok and good luck with your treatments.
Love Kim.
Me 36 DH 33 Male factor due to chemotherapy. IVF\ICSI May 05 +ve.

Hi Everyone,

I didn't manage to get on here yesterday as we didn't get back from Manchester until 7 pm....
Well, I had my scan and I'm not sure what to think.... I have two on each side at 8-9 mm and some small ones on the right. They have upped my Menopur to 300 from 225. I wasn't ready to start the Cetrotide. We have to go back on Thursday. They seemed quite happy, but I was very disappointed. This doesn't seem very good to me. Can anyone tell me whether that's good or bad? I know it was only day 6, but I can't help thinking I'm not going to get very many eggs.... I think it's the fact that they didn't mention ANY others on the left and if I only get the two from there, that's not very good, is it? I suppose we'll just have to see how things are going tomorrow....

How is everyone else doing?

Caroline - How was EC? Hope it went OK. Another step closer....

Sammy - Keeping my fingers crossed for good news this afternoon....

Kagome - Great news that the cyst has gone. Full steam ahead....!

Lumi - Best of luck for ET tomorrow. Bet you can't wait for those holidays to start!

Cheryl - How are you doing?

Sorry to anyone I've missed....

Faith xx

Hi everyone - bit late reporting back about EC as I didn't feel too great yesterday. The procedure went fine and I was ok afterwards in the clinic but then I was sick in the car (nowhere to pull in, had to use my cardie! Sorry TMI) and then I spent the whole afternoon convinced I had OHSS and phoning the clinic for reassurance. I think after my totally traumatic time last year, which started with throwing up, I just took a lot of convincing that I was ok. In the end, DH got someone to come round and give me a shiatsu massage at home (yes that is the second one in 2 days, but it doesn't half help!). Calmed me down completely and I feel much better now. Apart from the swollen ovaries pressing on my gut and giving me really bad wind - is this common?

But the really good bit is - I GOT 15 EGGS! And I'm 43! I am so thrilled. The clinic doesn't like to give people false ideas (good or bad ) about how the embies are doing so I won't find out til they ring me tomorrow morning and arrange a time for ET. More than a bit nerve racking. Sammy I'm quite jealous of you getting some news today - hope it's good.

Lumi, any news on your frosties yet?

Have to go now as I'm borrowing DH's pc (we both work from home) as mine's in for repair and he wants it back. Sorry not to have caught up completely with everyone else but hope you're all ok

Sorry you weren't feeling good after EC, but well done you on 15 eggs - that is an absolutely fantastic result. No wonder you are happy.

Now get plenty of rest, drink loads of water and look after yourself.

Big hugs and huge shouts to the fertilisation fairies to do their bit.

Certainly not a silly question but with IVF/ICSI you are on so many drugs that you can get OHSS, drinking a lot of water can help stop this from happening.

I don't know if it applies to IUI, but if you are concerned just ask your hospital if they recommend that you drink a little more water a day.

Remember all hospitals are different so don't worry about it too much.

Holly

The weather has been sunshine mixed with rain today - when the sun is out it's lovely but there is rain in London which could well be coming our way soon :(

Where are you - obviously not the UK, I do hope it's somewhere sunny.

Caroline

Well done - 15 is great! Fingers crossed

Sammy - that's good news

My embies must be doing okay as I called the embryologist department. I spoke to admin person who got a message to say all was fine. Last time one had perished at this point. That must mean that at least 3 of 4 are doing okay. If only 2 were okay, then they would be asking for permission to thaw another. They call in the morning to tell us how well they have done. Nail biting stuff! I am off till Monday, then finish work on Wed. And, Gail, I have 8 weeks off  Lovely!!

Good luck and love to all

Hi

DH has gone out so got a bit of time on his pc and a chance to catch up.

Kagome, that's such good news about the cyst, but what a pain about the possible wedding clash! Bet it'll be the only time you're hoping AF is late. P'raps you could crash in a corner and pretend you've come over all "tired and emotional", though you'd have to pretend to drink to pull that off!

Cheryl, how's your treatment going? How can you be so precise already about when your 2ww will start - is EC booked in beginning of next week? Hope you're doing well.

Faith, I don't have a lot of experience here, but it was only a day 6 scan. My scan on Friday, which was day 10 it looked like I might get 6 eggs, even though I had a lot of follies, and I got 15, so there is still time for things to develop. And, of course, it only takes 1 in the end.

Sammy and Lumi, my ET buddies, glad to hear your positive news about your embies. Wish I had something to report but don't yet. My ET will be in the afternoon - when will yours be? Sammy are you having 3 put back? Does this mean you're also an over 40 person or are you outside the UK where the rules might be different? We're planning on having 3 put back, assuming we've got 3 good 'uns. Wishing us all a smooth and safe transfer of our precious babes.

love to everyone else
