We are starting IVF next week - with starting I mean my baseline scan and injection lesson.
I have mild endometriosis and at my last scan Multi Cystic ovaries (rather than Polycystic apparently) - we have been trying for 3 years, and not really trying not to for 3 before that.
I have a fridge full of drugs and am a lettle apprehensive about starting it all - having been waiting for so long?
Hi Sharon - Welcome to the Site and glad you found us !
The first thing to remember is that we've all been in your position - new to IVF and nervous ! I bet my hat that within a couple of days of getting going, you'll wonder why you were so apprrehensive. It's surprising how quickly we settle into a cycle.
If you read the instructions with the meds (if they gave them to you !), you'll see a huge array of possible side effects. Some women hardly get any, so don't be worrying about that. I'd say the most common are headaches, tiredness, emotional / mood swings, and bloating / weight gain.
I'd recommend you reading Zita West's Fertility and Conception. It will give you tons of background info, and has a chapter on assited conception. It will demystify the whole process.
Good luck with your cycle. Why don't you join the Aug cycle thread on the General Forum. That way you'll be in touch with others who are cycling around your dates.

What a great site - looking forward to sharing this time with everyone here - good to finally have some real people to talk to other than all those "well I know someone who..." - as well meaning as they can be.
