Hi Tonya,

Will let you know tomorrow how it goes - most people on have said it's not as bad as you worry - so I'm banking on that.

DH has a biology degree so he's claiming some level of expertise in the field, but I checked with his mum and he studied fruit flies so  !

but it's good he is confident as the local nurse says that helps.

more news tomorrow - Good luck until the 21st.

x

Tiger you started your Down reg one day before mine. :D 2 months is a long time without your husband, I bet he has gone away to escape your hormones  I think my DH would if he got the chance

Staci & Tonya hope your insurance paid for your drugs, I wish I could claim back mine

Sharon I did my first injection and it wasn’t as bad as id worked myself up to think I did it with DH’s help but I was shaking like a leaf so had a bit of trouble to start with. Once it was over I realised it wasn’t that bad, so I think it will be all fine tomorrow.

Hi Nicola how’s it going, what great news about LittleP and her twins

Hello everyone
I am back havent been on for ages, been trying to have some sort of 'normal' life but here we are back for round two!!
AF has finally arrived about seventy million days late and after having drugs to make it happen i have a blood test Thurs then sniffing begins soon after. I am feeling really nervous and apprehensive this time and i am really beating myself up about the fact that i havent lost weight like they suggested.
So here the rollercoaster begins again!!
I have briefly read some of your posts but there is so much to catch up on, i hope everyone is doing and not going to crazy.

Hi ladies,

Wecome Sharon I am hope you will find this site as supportive as I do. It's really good having people to talk to who genuinely understand what this is all about....and we are all cycling together so even better :).

Tonya, yep, this is my our first attempt at IVF..... I am on the pill down reg so I took my third day BCP this morning. Feels funny to be taking a contraceptive pill while I am on the treatment to get pregnant.

Gail, I think you are on a different down reg protocol to mine? interesting how dr. give different treatment methods to different patients... I should start on my spray at around 25th July and FSH injection at around 7th Aug (really not looking forward to this bit!). My hubby and I are separated because we were relocated to o/s 2 years ago with his work. We decided it was best for us to do IVF in OZ because I have a better support system here even if we have to be separated for 3 months...

Nicki, the ultrasound scan I mentioned for 15th Aug is the stimulation one, I will have my baseline ultrasound at around 7th Aug??? Sorry Nicki, I had to look up what IUI was.... and now I know what it is  . I am on straight stimulated IVF cycle.

Of course all this tests and scans above depends on many factors ... I just hope my body will be good to me and I will make it to ET, and will hopefully get a BFP result at the end. HBP for all of us, yes!

Little P, you are a STARRRRRR! TWINS, wow!

Cheers, Tiger

Scan

Post by sharont »

Hello again,

Well as promised by so many of you the injection is a breeze, the worry (and sleepless night) was not needed. Tonya, no need to worry, the needle is tiny and I didn't need my DH to do it for me - the lovely nurse made me do it myself which I am glad I did.

At the baseline scan they found a fibroid - where has that been at all the other tests? to add to my endo & PCOS.

But I really feel it's all beginning now - I expect to start the suppression over the weekend - but am woreking away till friday now so no PC access.

Great news of twins on the site for LittleP - even though I'm new to the site it really helps with my PMA to think of the possibilities

:) See you all at the weekend - Hugs to you Tiger - I'm away from DH for two nights and feeling rubbish, couldn't contemplate 3 months - keep smiling

Hello All,
I have been panic-y today, and I can't really tell you why. But, first let me tell you some good news. I have lost 30 pounds since we last postponed the cycle, so this upcoming cycle in August is going to be my healthiest one yet. Sorry to gloat but 30 POUNDS!!!

I was tired of being FAT and tired of being in denial that my weight could be a factor in our previous negative. I have been on BCP for three weeks now. I am expecting a call from the RE in about two weeks. I really like my RE because he calls be personally and does not have a nurse do this part of the job (although I LOVE his nurse---MINDY). I was amazed at how much personal attention I got last time, but DH said he would give me just as much attention if I paid him like the RE

I do not know why I have been panic-y. I EVEN QUIT MY JOB!!! Thank god two hours later a recieved another offer! In my panic-y state I have posted a couple of questions, but the one I am obsessing on right now is whether it matters if I go in for bloodwork in the morning or in the afternoons. Mornings are going to be real hard for me with the new job but my afternoons are free----Yippee!
Let me know what you girls think.

I hope this panic-y mood is over soon...maybe I should go exercise!

I am happy everyone is moving along. We will all be in the thick of it before too long, and it will be our time to SHINE!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

Well I had a diagnostic hysteroscopy (ouch) this morning. The last I had was in Aug. so my Dr. wanted to make sure everything was looking clear prior to my transfer and that there's nothing there which might interfere with implantation. Unfortunately, there were some growths and a bit of scar tissue. She needs to do an operative hysteroscopy (under sedation) to remove everything. It can't be done too close to the time of the transfer since the tissue needs some time to heal so, in an effort to avoid postponing my cycle, I now have to go back in first thing tomorrrow morning for the operative procedure. Joy :? .

Tonya,

I have to admit that, unlike you, I am deathly afraid of getting pregnant with twins! At the rate I've been going though, that's not looking very likely. As long as all 4 of my embryos make the thaw, I'll go ahead and have them all transferred and hope for the best (which, for me, would be one implanting!) because they can't be refrozen. Are you doing a frozen cycle or a fresh one? From the medications you're taking, it seems like a frozen one?

When I did the first IVF/ICSI, I was 34 (I'm now 35). They got 17 eggs but only 13 mature and 9 of those fertilized so not too bad for my age I guess......

I have heard of your clinic. I think I came across their website once when I was looking for info. on something. It seems like a very good clinic!

By the way, my meds ended up being covered. Phew!

Mia,

Congrats. on the weight loss!! That is no small accomplishment. Did you go on some sort of structured diet plan in order to do it?

As far as your appointments, given that you have a new job and that you have afternoons off, I would definitely go for the afternoon appts. if your clinic would allow you to do that. I mean you never know if you'll end up getting held up there in the morning and then you'll stress about being late for work. You are doing a frozen transfer, right?
(getting confused here!). If that's the case, you'll only have to deal with one appt. a week like me....or no?

Sharon,

That's great that you are able to do your own shots right after the first meeting! I really feel like a wimp now. They are a breeze for me, but only if DH administers them. I have to turn my head away! I actually asked him, in a brave moment, if he'd show me how to do them this time because it'd save us from headaches with his travel schedule but he said no and that he doesn't think I'd be able to!

Anyway, hello to everyone else. I guess I'm going to go attempt to enjoy my evening and try to forget about tomorrow morning's agenda.

Hello All,
I haven't had time to get on the board for a couple of days and now I find that this thread is now REALLY busy. I guess that's a sign that things are hotting up for many people now.

I'm thoroughly bored with sniffing now. Just want to get onto the next stage - even though it is injections! Fortunatley myMum gives them to me (she's an ex nurse) so I can wimp out of that one.

Feeling fine - no real side effects, just want things to move faster.

Take care all, and for those of you fretting about side effects and injections - don't worry, most people don't seem to react too badly and it WILL be worth it when we all get a BFP.

Take care all

Love

It has been quiet on here today. Where is everyone?!

The procedure went fine. It was much better than yesterday with no sedation! Everything looks good now. I go in next Thurs. for a follow up appt. and I also start downregging that morning. I just want to get moving along.

DH and I have a consultation at a new clinic in the area on Monday. It's a little strange that we have a consultation while I just started a cycle somewhere else but it took me 2 months to get in so I figure it's worth keeping it to discuss a fresh IVF (possibly even using a gestational surrogate) if this FET doesn't work. I can't say I'm very optimistic that it will. I mean what are the odds that there is one embryo capable of creating a pregnancy in the absolute last batch I am using? I kind of just feel like that cycle created a completely bad batch (sorry....sounds like I'm talking about cookies or something here!).

Anyway, hope everyone is having a good day. Since so many of you have tickers I'm going to have to go figure out how to get my own :)
