Good luck, Elle. You're about half way to test day, or so.

Hello

Hi IUI girls,
Just checking in to say hello. I just took a birth control pill. ODD right???
Well after my miscarriage they discovered a cyst...completely normal and grew to support my pregnancy. So I'm on the pill until my IUI begins with meds. The nurse says this usually makes the cyst disappear half way through the pack of BC pills. If it's still there I'll miss this month's cycle.

Hope you all are having a good day.

Hello IUI gals!

Now do I test 14 days after IUI like I did when I had my IVF/ICSI? or a few days later?

Hi Katie,

Hope your cyst disappears so you don't miss a cycle!

Hi elleR,
My doctor asked me to come to the his office 14 days after my IUI for a preg test.
I bought a home kit to test at home so I wouldn't be too disappointed at a neg. but the nurse said the preg. hormone would show up in my blood before my urine...so urine test might be neg. but blood might be pos.

Elle How are you doing on your 2ww? Are you working during this time?
Last time I took 2 wks off work I am actually thinking of going to work this time in between time.

Yes Elle, 14 days after the day you had the insemination. Are doing HPT?
Did you have two inseminations? Or one?

I am now thinking about asking for 2, doubles the chances huh?? What do i think?
TTC 6yrs......Have jumped off the rollercoaster for now, too many BFN's and too much heartache, to keep going....Moving on to fulfil other dreams!!!

Hi Katie and Nicki,

I'll be testing with a HPT on the 22nd. My RE didn't say that I had to do a blood test. I guess I'll ask for one if my HPT comes out +ve to confirm it.

My 2ww so far is not too bad at all. I am working this time around unlike before when I took the whole 2 weeks off and was so miserable waiting for my test date to come. I am not as stressed-out as I used to be.

I only did a natural cycle and had 1 insemination done. I totally agree with you Nicki about asking for 2 inseminations next time around.

Well I gotta go to work, so I'll catch y'all later!

Hello ladies,
I am brand new and do hope I may join all you in this IUI thread? I introduced myself over in introductions, but for those of you who don’t know me yet, I am almost 24 and my husband is 27, we have been ttc for 4 years now and just started treatment a couple of months ago. We have decided to go with IUI and this month will be our first go at it. I have just finished my last dose of clomid today so on day 12 of my cycle, which is Friday 7/15 I will start using home ovulation tests to find out when I’m ovulating and that day we are expected to go into clinic for procedure. I was given some information from clinic but learned a lot more through my own research and got such a clearer picture reading all of your threads!! Correct me if I’m wrong; I think (from what I have read here) after procedure I will have what you all call a two week wait and then I will take a pregnancy test, weather home or clinics and that’s when I find out if it took? My doctor has only given me info in segments, what to do next, ect. So I assume she will explain more when we go in again but I just want to get an idea of what to expect.
Me 23 ~ DH 27
TTC ~ 4 years
First IUI~July~Negative :-(
Second IUI~August~Positive :-)
Thank you God, for our little Miracle!!

Hi Princess,
I remember you from the May buddies group. You were doing IVF. Interesrting that u are doing IUI this time. Usually IUI is a starting poin then you move to IVF..... Anyway first things first how r you after the m/c?
Are you starting in August then??
You were using donor eggs last time were you? Are you eggs going to be ok for this IUI??

IUI is cheaper than IVF..... I am paying £500 for the IUI, £100 for the sperm, £51 to the HEFA. The 2nd insemination costs £125. Which I have decided I will do this time. Not actaully said this to dh yet but spoken to clinic who said it's an idea.

Hi AmericanLiberty. Good Luck with your IUI. You right in the middle of it. When we started out we found that reading on the net was ok but actaully being touch with people who have been there and done it made it so easier. Text books doing give all the info I dont think.... So you will be glad you found this site!!!
After the insemination, yes indeed you have the 2ww, I took this off work last time but actaully found that I was going up the wall waiting it drove me insane, this time I plan to go to work when I am not at the clinic but parhaps do 10- 4 instead of 9-5.
From the girls I have met on this site IVF is difference and the bed resting is very important with IUI it's more a case of letting mother nature do her bit and you just get on with your life...... But at the end of the day thats just my opinion just how I feel coming out of my first IUI. everyones different, I guess it also depends on your work....etc......

I had AF arrive before testing I was 4 days early so didn't even test but had I of gone the whole 2weeks I would have done a Home test.

I surged at 6am on day 13 and had insemination on day 14 at 10 am.

I wish u all the best with that. Let us know where u are at, ok! x x

Elle: Hello. Hope you are still ok. the 2ww is hell huh??? You sound like me so much!!!
Anyway, are you getting on at work ok? I am going to work still during my next 2ww!!!

Roll on the 22nd... x x

Hey Nikki.
Yes we did do IVF first but the reason was because DH's first reaction to DI was a big NO so we did donor egg and donor sperm.
He is ok with everything now and says his first reaction was purely selfish and he doesn't care how we come to have a family. the only thing that matters is that we have one together, So we are going IUI this time. My clinic says it's fine. '
