I am at a Hospital in London and have to do a HPT myself. My friend who was told to test 14 days after egg collection is also at a London Hospital (different one to me) and she too has to do a HPT so I am really confused. Reading through these messages it seems a lot of people have blood tests instead of HPT.
I have spoke to so many people who have children and they have said that they didn't realise they were pregnant because they got period pains, spots, etc, etc all the same symptoms as Aunt Flo and they were actually pregnant. Don't worry about those pains - sometimes I think our minds can actually convince our bodies to do feel things. Good luck for Thursday - I am keeping everything crossed for you.
Thanks for your kind words. Isn't it funny how much better we are at reassuring each other than reassuring ourselves!
About HPTs again - I asked my clinic last week how early I could test and was told that if I wanted to I could try 2 weeks after EC, but it might be too early to pick up a +ve, though she did say that HPTs are incredibly sensitive these days. If your friend gets a negative 2 weeks after EC and doesn't get AF, she might want to try again 2 days later.
For me 2 weeks after EC would be tomorrow and it's really tempting to try but I don't know if I could cope with a false negative. Maybe Wed though....
Oh god I'm so sick of waiting!

WARNING - DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE FEELING NAUSEOUS!!
Hello everyone - thank you so much for kind words of support in last page - I've only just read this morning as I've had a couple of days of total bed rest. The funniest thing was that my clinic and my doctor insisted on a 'stool sample' (TMI) because I had such terrible pain and the dreaded D word. Can you imagine me trying to prop myself up in the toilet trying to poo - every time I thought I was goiing to poo - I ended up weeing so got my pot full of wrong item!! The worst was that the only sterile pot I had was my urine sample pot (for pregnancy testing) which my clinic told me to use - I mean are they mad!!! I did eventually manage to do it - you really don't want to know how - but had my clinic remembered that these things are see-through!! My DH picked up a referral form from docs for me but then he refused to take the sample to the hospital for me - he had been looking after me really well but said he drew the line at going out with a pot of my poo in his pocket!! So I struggled up to the local hospital hunched over in pain and praying that I didn't have a sudden need for the loo. Worse still - when I got there pathology was shut but you could leave your sample in a box outside (so I was told) however the 'box' turned out to be a metal tray (like you'd use as a desk tidy) and the referral form and pack from the doc was of course attached to a see-through plastic bag in which to place your sample!! So anyone walking through the hospital of St Cross on monday 11th July who happened to walk past the pathology reception window will have seen my see-through pot in a see-through bag with a great big label saying 'CHERYL CANE - DIORREAH AND ABDOMINAL PAINS' - They say everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame at some point in their life - I just never expected mine to come in such a gross way!!
Thinking of you all,
Cherylxx
Third ICSI July 2005 BFP and praying it continues!! 6, 8, 12, 13(Nuchal) 20, 25 and 28 week scans successful! Emily Ann Cane born 8.4.06 - more beautiful than we could have imagined
Oh Cheryl you have just made me smile! You poor poor thing...at least you can see the humourous side. I dont think my DH could have had the pot in his pocket, he gets queasy at the slightest thing!
Its good preparation for nappie changing though
Are you feeling better/worse/same?

I made it through the 4 days of bedrest only to not want to get up when I was allowed again. lol I have been sleeping a lot the last two days. I am just so tired now. I hope this is a good sign. Having AF type pains but not stressing over them too much. I will test July 18 and it just can't get here fast enough.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Well done on the bed-rest - I know it's amazingly difficult when you have to, then when you can get up you actually feel like staying there - how crazy are we all
Take good care of yourself and keep talking to the little ones.
I have just come home from work and have been again anaylising every little twinge so it is really nice to be able to read this board and try and reassure myself.
I am still feeling really negative although desperately hoping. I have had a really muzzy sort of headache for the last couple of days (could be the heat), and I have had a dull ache in the bottom of my back and am trying to work out if it is an AF backache. I also keep getting that dull ache in my stomach but notice it more when I think about it so don't know if it is my mind playing tricks with my body.
Another thing I have noticed is today I have had a constant dull like ache up my fairy (hope you can guess what that is, ha, ha) - it is not painful but I am aware of it being there, has anyone else experienced this, or any ideas what it might be.
I test a week today and am so hoping for good news but can't shift this feeling of disappointment, again is it normal to feel like this. The last couple of days I have felt really low, I think because I have had a dull ache in my back and that heavy dull feeling in my stomach and the tops of my legs feel a bit achy (I must sound like a hypochondriac) I am convinced of the worst, silly really but I have almost convinced myself it is all over.
Thanks so much Lumi and LittleP. I napped for 3 hours this afternoon. Feeling really lazy the last few days.
Karen-I too am analyzing every little pain and ache. lol I don't have the ache in the 'fairy' but I have gotten some rather sharp pains in that area the last day or so but they were really quick. Don't have a clue as to what it is though. Also have quite a bit of gas pain and that is pretty unusual for me. I could probably list about 10 things right now that I can't explain but could either be from the progesterone or from pregnancy. Only time will tell and God knows I am so VERY impatient!
Wishing a bfp for you next week!

It is horrible when every twinge is a concern.I had lots of funny aches and pains but hvae to say I think most came from the bloating and gas from progesterone!
Just relax and try not to think too much about it (HA HA as if that is possible!!) Much easier said then done!
Take care Chrissy and Karen

Hello Ladies! I have been bad...been taking hpt's for days now. Yes, I know, too soon. lol BUT today I got a faint positive....took another and again got a positive!!!! I know this is not for sure but at least I know the hcg shot was out of my system cause I kept getting negatives until this morning. I was so excited I couldn't contain myself. Poor dh was at work and I called him so excited I think he may have some hearing loss. lol I don't really recommend taking hpt's too soon cause it will drive you insane but if you must, you must. I have no will power or patience. lol
Hope everyone has a great day!
