Wardley-Thanks so much! I pretty much believe the test at this point. I found out with my past pregnancies with hpt's too. Not had a false positive yet. I just can't wait till Monday when I will know for sure that I am preggars.

You're having twins? How lucky for you! I would love to have 2 new babies very soon! :D Just have to wait till my scan mid August to find out though.

LittleP-Thanks so much! I am really excited, keep looking at those lines! lol Of course I will test again tomorrow and every day till I get my blood work back. Not fond of surprises, can ya tell? lol

Hugs, Chrissy

Progesterone

Post by Karron »

Hi Everyone

Can someone explain to me what the side effects are of Progesterone suppostries. I am having to insert 1 x Cyclogest 400mg I(in the front entrance) before I go to bed. My stomach feels really heavy as if Aunt Flow is on the way but reading some of the messages I am not sure whether this is the Cyclogest that causes this. A friend told me that the progesterone makes your womb thicker to help the embryo attach - I would be grateful if someone can explain to me what the side effects are and if any of you had that dull heavy feeling in your stomach and was convinced it was Aunt Flow visiting and actually got at BFP.

Caroline I am really pleased for you, they say you don't get a false positive so I would be extatic. I am due to test the day after you (19th) but have been really tempted and have been so good so far but now reading your message I am tempted to try one. Did you use an Early Response HPT or just a normal one and did you test first thing in the morning (I am so naughty).

Sadly my friend tested Monday and got a BFN, she said that her boobs stopped hurting about a week before she tested. Mine are still sore although not as painful as they were after I had the HCG. Does the progesterone give you sore boobs, as you can see I have really done my research.

Anyway I got a letter from the Hospital today saying that they have frozen 7 embryos, I was slightly confused as when I went for my Embryo transfer I was told that 12 were being frozen, anyway I am still pleased with 7.

Hope to hear from you all soon, with all your stories and will try my hardest to keep those HPTs locked away - I only said I would try!!!!

Good luck to you all.

Cheryl-Thanks! I am hoping the lines just keep getting darker. :D

Karen- I used First Response Early Result test. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, don't. I did test first thing this morning and then again about 2 hours later. Both positive. But remember, it may still be too soon to detect anything. I got quite a few negatives before today but it was just too soon.

Sorry I can't help you on the supp. I take prog. injections. Not fond of them though. lol Prog. can cause sore boobs. Mine aren't as sore as they were either but still a bit sore none the less.

Seven frozen is good. I only have 2 frozen now. Had 3 left after transfer and they wanted to let them go to day 5 before freezing them and we lost 1 on day 5.

Good luck with your test on the 19th!

Hello everyone!
I just had my transfer yesterday, and I am settling in for the wait. It's strange, I feel so incredibly calm, so calm when the nurse took my heart rate it was 71 and my blood pressure was really low. I am wondering if this is a side effect of the progesterone...
Since I started my progesterone injections (on Sunday) I have been ver content and relaxed. I guess that is a good thing
Anyone else have this happen?

Jenna,
I was really calm the day of transfer but that was because they gave me a 10mg Valium before. lol I wish I could have taken one everyday to keep me that calm. Not entirely sure of all the side effects of the progesterone but everyone reacts differently.

Stay calm as much as you can. It will make your 2ww so much easier. :) Wish I could have done that. lol

Hi Jacs ... I'm not certain, but I think it's a mixture of chance of infection and the temperature. The bath thing drove me mad too ..

CONFESSION

Post by Karron »

Hi Everyone

This 2WW has been the longest time of my life, I am not due to test until Wednesday but reading a lot of the stories, I noticed that a lot of the girls have tested early and got a faint line so me being so inpatient I decided to do an Early Response Test yesterday and not a BFN. I have felt for the last week that Aunt Flo is on its way. I have had on off dull ache in my stomach and back which is a sure sign for me that Aunt Flo is on its way.

Last night I was woken up by a really bad cramp in my stomach. When I had my first wee of the morning (too much detail I know), I have had a habbit of studying the toilet paper after wiping myself to see if there is anything there and noticed a very, very slight discolouration, when I say really slight I had to keep looking at it to make sure, it was only a tiny little bit. I haven't had anything since. I have had also had a really bad metally taste in my mouth for the past hour.

Anyway when I got home from work last night I was shattered because of the heat and fell asleep for an hour. I have been feeling fine, and for the past week have convinced myself that the treatment hasn't worked because of the feelings of Aunt Flo but anyway when I woke up I couldn't stop crying, this is the first time I have had a proper cry since going through this IVF cycle, perhaps I just needed to get it out of my system - I think where I have convinced myself that it hasn't worked due to all the negative symptoms and getting the BFN I just felt it was all over. I know you are all going to say I am being silly as I have tested way too early but I don't know if any of you felt the same.

Speak to you all soon.

Good luck to you all.

Karron-
I am so sorry that you got a bfn BUT it is possible it is still too early. I have heard that some women don't get +++ on hpt's until days or weeks after their test with the dr. Does your dr. do blood test? Have you talked with your dr. about this yet? Please take care of yourself. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

How are the 2ww-ers today ? Jenna, Elle, Cheryl, Chrissy, Jacs, Karron .. (sorry if I've missed anyone ?) ...

Cheryl - How are you feeling today ? Any more positive ? How are AF pains ?

Karron - If you're due to test on Wed, a HPT today means nothing. You really are a naughty naughty girl for doing it, but pls don't take any notice of the result. You've got to try extra hard now to regather all that PMA. Re the tears - the second week of the 2ww is always the hardest, and is definitely the most emotional. Don't worry about the tears - just let them out - it's the only way you'll feel any relief.

Chrissy - nearly there !!! How are you ?

How's everyone else doing ..?
