My Story so far, finally got appointment thru to see consultant in 4 weeks, cant wait.(Male factor, failed reversal, hence low motility). I started a new job 5 weeks ago and so far I am hating it. (even keep bloody dreaming about the damn thing) Far too stressful, continuous phone calls (Call centre). Hardly any time for breaks, and cant leave on time most nights. I am worried that this is going to affect my chances of a positive result. Probably temping would be more appropriate, Any advice would be appreciated....

Thanks
Karen.

hi karen poor you.............all i can say is try to do only what you can do !! dont put pressure on yourself, whynot tell the boss so you can limit your work load.
my office is manic and im on the phone all day and i was lucky to get a +. i did have the 2ww off (week wait) and went back pt till im 12wks as its very busy .
good luck and keep thinking +++
lots of love
beck x
Karen
I know they say that stress is a big -'ive factor when ttc, but then again being busy takes your mind off things. I agree with Beck, maybe you should let them know what's going on so they make allowances, especially when you are going to have to make appointments and take time off for E/C and E/T.
I've been very lucky at work but I know if I had to make a choice between work and being pg which one would win.
Good Luck
Terri
xxxxxx
Hi Beck,
I wholeheartedly agree with the advice the girls have given here. I was forced to give up a job I really enjoyed because the budget holder made life extremely difficult for me to get the time off for this, even although I had told her the reason for it! We had a lot of travelling to do to attend the clinic, so stress levels were going to be fairly high and I knew this, fortunately I was in a position to tell her where to stuff her job, but if you can work this out with your boss, it would be a bonus, I was willing to work something out - unfortunately she appeared to have a problem with the whole thing - her loss, my gain, because we have got a +ve on Fri 13th!!!
Best of luck,
Scorry x

Hi Karen - I can sympathise with what you are saying. I have been in my job 3 years and find it really stressful. I have a member of staff that makes my life hell and when I go back I have to take her through a disciplinary and it is a stressful working environment. I have been signed off for stress before too and the only way I knew I could get through this was if I told my boss, expecially because of all the time off for appointments needed. Luckily, for her, children are more important than work and she has been very supportive recommending that I get signed off for 1st trimester which I have as doctor agreed. I probably will go back at 16 weeks. I know I am in a very lucky position, but I think in your position, I would tell your boss, hopefully they will be sympathetic and ask for reduced duties and increased breaks for a while.
Good luck and take care.
Louise XXX
