Hello Americnliberty and Princess! Hi BigJ

Of course you can join us here. The more the merrier!!!
What I like most about IUI is that it doesn't cost as much as IVF.
And is painless!

Right now I'm currently on my 2 ww. I am currently working while waiting for my test date. It makes the days go by faster unlike before when I did IVF I stayed home during those 2 weeks.

Princess, when are you going to have your IUI?
Americnliberty, let us know your progress.

Good luck to you both!

Hey Nicki!

My 2ww ain't bad at all. Just counting the days. I'm feeling good. No symptoms. Didn't have any anyways too when I did IVF. DH & I are prepared for whatever the results may be. So when are you going to have your next IUI?

Hey Nicki and Everyone!
Nicki I think its a smart idea...it's a standard practice at my clinic...but remember that the 1st one should be scheduled the the day before they think you will ovulate...sperm lives for several days so you're less likely to miss this way.

~*~*~*~Nicki, if we discussed this before just ignore me(I'm alittle, no alot slow these days..smile). I'm really hoping for you.

Hi Girls!
Just had to pop on here and say what a great idea it was to start an IUI thread. I also went the IVF route first, and had a negative outcome. Then my clinic suggested trying IUIs. I remember feeling really funny about agreeing to it. Just seemed like we were going backwards instead of forwards. In the end it was the best decision we ever made!
#1 Far cheaper!
#2 Much less invasive!
My doctor kept me on the same drugs and short cycle as with my IVF (I responded well to Follistim). I had the same HSG trigger shot, and went in for insemination 12 hours later, then a second insemination 24 hours after the first. Our first attempt at IUI failed. The second was a success. We're expecting a little girl in September.

Our problem was female factor. My egg quality wasn't the best and I had a FSH level of 12.5. Their goal was to produce as many follicles as possible. My IVF round produced eggs with a lot of fragmentation. They felt an IUI wouldn't disturb the eggs as much and might lessen the amount of fragmentation. Not sure if that was the case, but something worked.

I just thought I'd pop on and tell my story just for information for others. I know what it's like to search for someone else in a similar position. Wishing all of you the best of luck. Princess ... I recall your posts on the other side and was saddened to hear your news. Wishing you the best, loads of PMA, and I'll keep an eye out for you over there in the future!

Hugs-
Kelly

Shouldn't take too long. Mine was exactly four weeks. I'm due to start my next cycle, probably next week!

Takes alot of courage to get back on that horse.

Hello ladies!
Wow I miss a couple of days and there is soooo much to catch up on!! LOL

Good luck Holly with your test today…hope all goes well!

I would definitely go with two Nicki if I had a choice. Much better odds…you figure you wait all month for the one or two days your ovulating, might as well go 2 for 2! They didn’t give me a choice, of course I didn’t ask either but my DH was just inquiring about that. However, you all mentioned that you are paying for your treatments?? All our meds, appts., tests, and no matter how many IUI’s we do, it is all covered by our insurance. That may be why we probably only get one!

Well this morning was my 12th day of my cycle and I took the ovulation test but no LH surge yet! I can’t wait for it to happen. I really hope it doesn’t happen over the weekend though, cause our clinic only does it Monday through Friday so we would have to wait until Monday to go in and it may be too late by then!

Thank you elleR. So how much longer do you have to wait?
Just by reading how most of you feel during your two week wait I get anxious…I can only imagine what I will be going through when that time finally comes! I don’t work outside of the home, I am a stay at home mother to our 5 yr old, so that keeps me very busy. But I haven’t even done anything yet and I am up all night worrying and wondering.

Have fun on your trip Yvee!!

Thank you God, for our little Miracle!!
