hi there

I am in early menapause & had my first ivf in May June. We were told that we would have very little response to the drugs as my ovaries are very badly damaged by it.

We went on a short cycle with Menopur and Oralguran (Spelling???) I believe on quite a high dose. We only had 5 folicles on the scan but ended up with 6 eggs which all fertilised by ET day we had 5 embies and had the normal two put back. The ones left got lonely and left us.

We tested negative. I am a lucky girl because I did carry my DS, after assistance, nine years ago so we thought we would be ok at this stage but obviously not. When we tested the nurse said that it just wasnt our time. She said that we had a Grade 1 & Grade 2 put back so they were good embies and not to get disheartened.

I am still waiting for my follow up appointment which was due next week to discuss the posibility of re cycling in October November but have just had it cancelled by the clinic and pushed back till September.

There are plenty more girls in the same situation and are all very helpful on this site.

Good Luck
Gail

Hi There,

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Has it actually been confirmed that she is going through early menopause, or just something the clinic has told you because she never responded to the drugs? I would go for a second opinion?
I personally don't like Buserlin. I responded quited badly to it, rather than down regulating me, it actually stimulated me...... I was told by the clinic that it had been heard of that this can happen, but in all the years they had been using it, it had never happened....... :? The first cycle had to be cancelled, and the second cycle they used Buserelin again  , they told me it was impossable for me to react the same way again...... but I did.

Drugs affect different people in different ways. What some clinics know, others don't.
I hope everything turns out ok for you both.
Good luck
