Hi Tiger,
I love the idea that Annie is saying all of that in her mmmmmmmmm noises!!!..I realy like to think that she's saying "mum", but once again could be very much wishful thinking on my behalf..Glad that you have started the ball rolling, is wierd isn't it to be taking the contraceptive pill, always feels very strange!
Have a great day ladies

Hi Ladies

I hope little Annie is feeling better Belinda. I think you should go with your theory on the m word....mum should always be a child's first word!!

I had my scan today and everything looks good for Friday. I have about 12 follicles but the doc said that as two of them are abnormally large, we will probably lose them before Friday. This happened last time and I have all the usual ovulation symptoms at the moment so it came as no surprise. The doctor was pretty positive though which made me feel a bit better and the clinic suggested that we may even get some frosties this time which would be great.

DH and I both had the day off work so we went out to breakfast and then he came to the doctor and the clinic with me. We had a really lovely day.

Hope you are all having a great week.

Cheers
Heather

Heather,

that is a wonderful news. Sounds like you had a really good day, I am so happy for you and your DH :D. Are you going to get a nurse to administer hCG injection for you? Sending you tons and tons of baby dust on your way.

Take care,
Tiger

Thanks Tiger. I will do the HCG shot myself tonight. It is a really tiny needle so it doesn't hurt at all.....it does leave a tender spot afterwards though.

Have a great wednesday.

Hi Heather,

so the final injection is not so bad... thank you. I thought that was the scariest one, with normal syringes. I will be thinking of you tonight. Take it really easy next couple of days.

Cheers, Tiger

Well done Heather! 12 follicles is fantastic. Your EC has come around so quickly - maybe not for you! I have everything crossed for you. Please make sure you relax and take it easy.

Had 1st acupuncture session today & I loved it :D :D

It is so cold here in Melbourne that I can't wait to get some warmth & sunshine on the Gold Coast.

Chloe is four & a total cutie.

Good luck Heather - I'll be thinking of you.

Thanks for the well wishes ladies, I have my fingers crossed too!

Tiger, glad I could put your mind at rest about the shot. None of them are bad, a blood test hurts more. The sniffing is the worst bit in my opinion.

MissMolly, sounds like the acupuncture session went much better than last time! How did you know which practitioner to choose? Is there an accreditation process or something similar? Sorry to ask so many questions but I really want to do acupuncture but as we only have one practitioner in town I am keen to find out more about him before I make an appointment. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Glad to hear that you are enjoying having Chloe around. Kids are the best fun aren't they. I hope all the kiddie sightseeing is proving to be lots of fun too!

Belinda, how is Annie? I hope she is feeling better and the snot sucker has been retired (forever). Give her a hug for me and keep practicing that mumumum stuff!

Today I thought I would take advantage of some time off work by hiring one of those upholstery cleaners instead of getting the cleaner guy to come and do it. Won't make that mistake again....I am knackered after spending about 5 hours cleaning sofas and dining chairs in a very tropical environment (I had to close the house up and crank the heater so that they would dry....what sort of idiot cleans these things in winter!) Tomorrow I am having coffee with a friend and then hitting the shops, such as they are here, to get rid of some cash!

Hi to Deanne, Barbara and Josie...keep well!

Cheers

Heather - my acupuncturist is an accredited traditional chinese medicine practitioner (I saw her certificates up on the wall). This lady has done some work with the IVF clinics in Melbourne in the past. She specialises in womens health & IVF support. I just look in the yellow pages & her ad said "infertility & IVF support" so I rang straight away!!!

I hope all goes well for you EC - and NO more housework for you!!!!

Hi everyone,

Heather, your EC must have been yesterday or today? I hope it's gone really well and you're taking it easy over the next couple of days. I've got all my fingers and toes crossed for you.

A big hello to everyone else too. Hope you're all doing well.

We're driving down to Canberra tonight to spend the weekend with my Mum and brother. It will be our first trip taking the puppy (now 6 months old) so here's hoping he copes with the car ride and a new environment. He's crazy about my Mum so I'm figuring once he sees her at the other end all will be ok!

DH & I are finally starting to get over this flu and we managed a night out at a restaurant with friends last night which was fun. My nausea even subsided long enough for me to enjoy some yummy Thai food!

Have a wonderful weekend ladies.

Cheers

Friday Friday weekend weekend!

Hi all!

MissMolly  , after reading your post and doing a little bit more research on acupuncture and IVF I have decided to take this opportunity to go on it as well. So my first appoitment is tomorrow lunch time, really looking forward to it. I am going to the clinic in East Melbourne.

Deanne, wonderful to hear you were able to have fantastic night out with your friends yesterday. I had a Thai with a friend too last night. I am thinking Canberra would be freezing cold at this time of the year? but no doubt your mum will pamper you and spoil you rotten. Hope your puppy will be good on the road trip. Take care.

Bel, have you got anything exciting planned for the weekend? or is it too early for little Annie-Boo yet???? Happy 8mths and 1wk to Annie :), I am very happy to hear that she is near to full recovery, soon you will see sunny-happy Boo again.

And finally and most importantly - :!: HEATHER CHICKIE BABE :!: , how are you? I hope you are doing well....... You made me smile with dilemma on living in a small town... I have a friend who had a same problem but hers was to do only gyn in town (!!!).

Cheers to all, have a wonderful Friday.

Thanks again ladies. Well nothing but disappointment here. From our 12 good sized follies (and countless littlies) we ended up with only 3 eggs. Apparently the lead follie just couldn't hang in there a wee bit longer. We are now totally over this whole cycle and will not be too surprised if none of them fertilise. I feel pretty good though, really sore and bloated before EC but much more comfortable now. I plan on doing very little for the rest of the day and DH is being a real star and fussing over me.

Glad to hear you and DH are feeling better Deanne and that you managed a nice night out...I think that helps to lift the spirits.

Good luck with the acupuncture Tiger, I really want to go too! We have the same problem with IVF clinics in the country, there is only one and at the moment I hate them....gotta aim my disappointment at someone! I hope it goes well for you.

Also glad to hear that Annie is doing better, the poor little tyke. Although it is a horrible thing to say, it is kinda nice when babies are feeling a bit sick and sooky and need lots of cuddles from their mum.

Have a great weekend everyone, I will keep you posted on how the little blighters are going and whether or not I will have ET on Sunday.

Cheers

Heather, you know you only need one egg to fertilise to be in with a chance (I'm living proof of that, remember!!), so don't write off this cycle just yet. With ICSI you should have a good chance of at least one fertilising. Glad you're being fussed over today, rest up and stay positive for a good transfer on Sunday.

Tiger, hope you enjoy the acupuncture session tomorrow. I'm too chicken to try it myself!

Cheers

Heather - although its true - you only need one, but I am totally disappointed for you :( . I really think the clinic needs to look at the fact that your body does not hang in there until EC & alter the treatment. I am angry at your clinic on your behalf  In terms of fertilisation, you are trying ICSI, so maybe they might all fertilise. At least you are not too uncomfortable. Let DH treat you like a princess this weekend!!! I will be thinking of you - hang in there.

Tiger - are you going to have acupuncture in Albert St? (called something like Fertile Ground?) If so, I was going to go there. I spoke with them over the phone & they sounded great. I ended up going where I am going as it was a little easier to get to. I hope you like it - I'm sure you will.

I have today off, but am working tomorrow afternoon :!:

Have a great weekend!!!!
