Buserelin side effects

Post by ella »

Hi everyone,
I started injecting the Burserelin on Friday, and I just wanted to know how you all coped with the side effects. After an emotionally charged weekend I think DH is going back to work for a rest(If you can rest being a Secondary School Teacher). The mood swings have appeared, and yesterday I managed to cry for a hour about the size of our Christmas Tree, silly eh. Anyway I managed to pull myself together and decided to move the furniture around in just about every room of the house! I know I should relax a bit, but relaxing before Christmas seems an imposible task.
My pre-stim scan is booked for Jan 6th, how quick do things move after that?
This is my first attempt at IVF so I'm a bit unsure about things. We may need to have ICSI, but the clinic are going to make that decision on the collection day as DH's sperm varies.
Anyway thanks for listening to my waffling.
Good luck everyone,
love Ella
Buserelin side effects

Hi Ella

I can't help you with the side effects as I took a different set of drugs. We had a similiar experience with ICSI versus IVF on the day dh sperm was on top form but they suggested that we split the batch 50% IVF and 50% ICSI, as had more embies with IVF but the ICSI embies were better quality. It was good having the choice.

Wish you every success next year

Love mandsx

Hi Ella,
I took Buserelin injections, and everyone I knew had told me they were complete monsters on this, so I was expecting the worst, and guess what.....nothing happened!!, the only thing I could pinpoint, would be that very occassionally I would feel a wee bit emotional eg; at a sad film . I was so worried I would give DH a hell of a hard time, but it didn't happen, so don't worry, it affects eveyone differently!
We were in the same position as you, they said they would leave it till the day of EC to decide whether to do IVF or ICSI,depending on Dh's levels, they did ICSI and I had ET on 28th Nov and got a +ve result on Fri 13th!!!!! this was our 1st time too, so try not to worry too much, just log in to this site and we'll all keep you sane!!
best of luck,
Scorry x

Hi Ella
I became the ***** troll from hell !!!!
DH had to put up with mood swings, hot flushes, tears, tantrums the whole lot and because I had trouble down-regging I was on the stuff for 9 whole weeks. Poor sod, don't know how he coped.
Hang in there, it's worth it in the end.
Good Luck
LOL
Terri
xxxxx

Buserelin side effects

Hi there Ella - it's me, your cycle buddy!

As you know, I'm at the same stage as you (I started buserelin Wednesday). I'm feeling really moody as well - had a good cry last night and nearly cried again today just cos I couldn't get something in the freezer! Last time I was on this drug it was the same. I think yo've just got to go easy on yourself and cry if you want to.

When you go for your pre-stim scan they'll check to see how thin your womb lining is. If it's less than 6mm (which mine was after 3 1/2 weeks of buserelin jabs) you're ready for the next drugs (I'm on Menogon - how about you?). Last time I needed the menogon jabs for 10 days then e/c. It can vary depending on the dose you're on and how quick your follicles grow, but if your timing is like me last time, you should be having your e/c around 16th Jan.

Hope this info helps. Keep in touch and take care,
Luv Rachel X
