I guess that the clinics (especially those in the NHS) don’t want to put everyone through the trauma of additional tests (I had to wait over 2 weeks for mine) when it is probably only a small minority of people that has these issues. Unfortunately this does mean that some of us have to endure several failed cycles or m/c before it’s decided to run these tests. I consider myself lucky that my consultant believes in the link between NKC and m/c / failure to implant and ran the tests after ‘only’ 2 cycles. Others don’t and I’ve seen a few women post on these boards who seem to have had a number of failed cycles without any good reason and seem prime candidates for this sort of testing. It’s been on the tip of my tongue to suggest to them they get tested for NKC and blood-flow, but somehow it doesn’t seem right.
I hope that anyone with lots of failed cycles reads this because there is a huge amount of useful info here.

sorry to dig up this old thread, but I'd like to hear about the experiences of those who've had immune testing and treatment or undergone Dr Beer's protocol.
I asked my doctor whether it would be worthwhile to do immune testing as mentioned in Dr Beer's website, but he said he had studied it carefully before and does not believe that Dr Beer's research/claims are entirely credible, and his treatment methods are questionable (may be unsafe).
So, I would be grateful if anyone could share their experiences on treatments that they were given, and whether were they successful? what were the side effects (if any) etc.
Thanks so much!

Thankyou for publishing your detailed article.
I am 32 and have just had my 3rd failed ivf cycle. All my embryos have been grade 1 and we are at a loss to understand why it just will not work.
I changed clinic for my 3rd try as it was being funded by nhs. Prior to that, I was at another clinic who getting exasperated with my constant questions, made me have my immune system checked. One of my killer cells was at a high level and they suggested that if we went back to them, then they would give me steroids. By then we had lost confidence in them.
At my new hospital, I raised the question of killer cells and the dr said that there was no proof that treating killer cells would result in a pregnancy.
My husband is annoyed that 2 experts totally disagree and as he quite rightly points out, it is our life that is being destroyed.
I would very much like to talk to you further if this is ok ?

Hi. This is my first time on this site. Your posts have been very informative. I've been through 5 failed IVFs. After each one my Dr. says "it's just the luck of the draw, it's like russian roulette, a game of chance". I'm starting to think this is bull. Shouldn't he be doing some tests on me? He hasn't checked me for anything as to why IVF isn't working. I've read a lot about antibody tests and immune system tests, it has me wondering if he knows about all of this. He's been doing infertilty for about 30 years now, he's no rookie. Does anyone have suggestions of what tests I should have done. Here are my stats:
28 yrs old (just turned)
5 failed IVFs
only 1 ovary
tube is blocked/collapsed
severe endometrios
PCOS
overweight
reoccurant ovarian cysts
multiple surgeries for cysts, had ovary removed 3 yrs ago
my embryo quality is always good, 9-10 cells. They keep telling me everything looks great, my blood levels, uterine lining, embryo quality, etc.
Any feedback is appreciated. I'm not giving up, I plan to try again in March or April.
Hi
I'm from NSW in Australia and have only just found this forum.
I am searching for a Reproductive Immunologist in Sydney and my search brought up Tracker's post.
Are you still there Tracker and can you, or anyone else, suggest anyone?

Sue
Yes I'm still here I lurk mostly , sorry I missed this post earlier.
Try ringing SIVF and asking for Devora Liebberman - she runs the Miscarriage Management Program there - and that is how you get all the immunology testing done - his and hers(!).
