hELLO ALL, hope everything is going well

Hi JULES G - nice to see your name about, how are you doing? Im on burselin for down reggin stage. Im so glad i have started but the injections are proving trickier than i thought. the first 1 was very easy but now 3 jabs later i have a bruise which is nearly the size of my palm, is this normal or am i just heavy handed with the syringe? I was told to do injection just below belly button and go in on a 45 degree angle. not sure if this is the way it is and we are all black and blue or if there is a technique i aint got!!!

Hi TIGER - your treatment dates sound similar to mine, my baseline scan is the 8 aug, cant wait for it to be here.

GAILP - thanks for the advice on injections, much appreciated. How are things going with you?

SHARONT - It is scarey the whole injection thing isnt it, i started flapping because i thought if i couldnt do it there was no where i could go at 10pm to get it done. glad im not mixing as like you i dont think i would make a good barmaid. Is the menopur the next stage?

Hope all is going well for everyone,

take care

and lets hope aug is a fab month were dreams come true.

Love

Hello All,
Reading all of your posts I'm sooooo glad I've got my Mum to do my jabs. She doesn't particularly like doing them and she gets a bit worried if she bruises me - which she does sometimes - so don't worry those of you who have got bruises, even nurses still make them. My tummy is now getting more swollen and is begining to feel quite tender. Next scan is on Tuesday so I'll know how many follicles are developing. Getting closer - can't wait until next weekend which will mean that EC time will be nearly here.
I seem to be coping much better this time - no significant mood swings or feeling totally hopeless. Perhaps that's a good sign - at least I hope it is.
Keep up the PMA all.

Love

I inject in my thighs Sue, I was told I could do it in stomach or thighs and I really didnt fancy sticking a needle in my tummy :( I do have bruises but they are not to bad. My mood swings are getting worse though

My next appointment is on Tuesday for a blood test to see if the down reg injections have done what they should have, then hopefully on to the stim drugs. One step closer :D

The weather in the UK is not helping my mood swings today  its been raining all day :x

Hope all the August Buddies are ok.

Debbie can you send your Mum round to do my injections please :D

Hi Sue

I do my injections in my thigh - don't know why but can't face doing them in my stomach

I did get brusies -sometimes I think you can catch a nerve I am sure you are doing it ok though I always worry about that

Well I have an appointment to collect my drugs and I will start on the burselin on the 14th August - so not long and I can get going again - think I will be more a september budd - maybe even into October - just want to say good luck to all August buddies and especially to all those of us at LWH - seem to be a few now :!:

First time through I had a hard time with the needles, but wouldn't let DH do it. Anyone seen Pulp Fiction? Well, he's overly fascinated with the needle in the heart.... no way he was touching me!!

I inject in the stomach, I'm a soccer player and thought that because my thighs are muscular it would really hurt.

So far so good, bring on August!

Debbie, if you have no mood swings, count those blessing!

ZITA WEST/PREPARATION FOR NO 1 IVF

Post by Tilly »

Hi everyone. I thought id joined August Buddies before but im still learning my way around the site etc etc.

Due to start first ever IVF cycle on Wed 27th. Ive done a fair bit of reading over the last 2 months and have read Zita Wests book, so feel i am fairly prepared. I havent gone as far as making Broccoli Soup etc and as for the "surround yourself with orange" i dont want to be negative but im not going to go and get a whole new wardrobe.

Ive tried meditation and DH and i have 30 mins each night with a meditation CD on trying to de stress, via deep breathing, as technically, i dont know what meditation is.

Now ive found the board, i hope i meet lots of friends and get plenty of support.

Thanks everyone

Me aged 30
DH aged 36

TTC #1 for 24 mths

Me - ovulate irregular
DH - various sperm probs

Hi all,

thanks for replying regarding the injections, at least i know im doing it in the right way. Last nights one was fine, although managed to stab my finger with the needle trying to get the cover off

Only 2 days till we move and im starting to worry about all the bits there is left to do and how much cleaning etc etc. i cant wait to have a nice garden though, and i can lounge around and hubby can bring me nice cold drinks (if the sun shines again).

Not long now julesg, i bet the last few months have seemed like an eternity though. Its good that you have now got a date. its weird the nurse never mentioned doing them in my thigh, probably thought there is enough flesh around the tummy, it will be fine there!!! lets hope LWH have a bumper crop of positives in store.

Hi Tilly & AngeWG, welcome to the august buddies there are loads about. I started my 1st attempt last week, so im sure there wont be much difference in our cycles, im sure we can help each other long!!

gailp - Yes mood swings, my hubby knows all about them  and is actually looking forward to returning to work (off for 2 weeks because of house move). although i dont think im too bad, as long as he dosent look at me, tap his fingers against things, touch me or breath!!!! he will survive. It must be good when you get near to the next stage, hoping all goes well for you on tues.

debbie - its great that your mum can do the injections, and that all is progressing well with your treatment. I suppose it helps knowing whats instore.

Anyone that i have missed, sorry, Hoping all is well.

take care

love

Hello All,
August seems to be a popular month - I can't keep up with everyone. Still, it's nice to know that so many have found their way to this board. I know it has been a life saver for me on my past cycles and I'm sure it will be on this time too.
I'm still feeling fine - although I do have a mega bruise on my tummy (note all of you - nurses can still give bruises when they do the injections so don't fret any of you who have bruises). My tummy is getting more tender by the day - now begining to feel fat and my clothes are getting tight. Fortunatley I seem to lose this feeling once I stop the injections so I'm not too worried.
Next scan is tomorrow so I get to find out how many follicles I've got developing. I hope it's lots.
Still no mood swings - at least DH hasn't said anything! Honestly, I do feel fine this time. I guess each cycle is different.
To all of you first timers, relax and don't fret about anything. I'm sure all will be fine. I just know we're going to have LOADS of BFP's on this thread.
PMA, PMA, PMA.

Take care all,
Love

Started sniffing today as well.

The sniffing is ok but I found that 20-30 minutes later I had an awful taste in the back of my throat. I know it is to be expected spraying stuff up my nose, but does it have taste so horrible!!
I am sniffing 3 times a day!!

Sorry if it is tmi at dinner time!

Hi Everyone
What a busy thread this is!!! I need to catch up withn you all. I am hoping to join you if all goes well tommorrow. I have been waiting for my fsh levels to come down and they are now borderline and I have to go for a scan tommorrow to discuss the possibility of starting treatment with my consultant. There are so many hurdles to cross just to get to the 2ww so keep your fingers crossed for me!
Good luck to all those sniffing and injecting and also to thise waiting to start.

Hi Girls. Had my 1st scan today after taking puregon for 6 days. Great news, My cyst has healthed up nicely, and I've got 12-15 follicles. A lot less than the first time around (40ish) :? . Looks like the Metformin definitely helped :). Nurse said it all looks well and EC should be on Monday:D :D

Ellie :- Best of luck for the scan tomorrow and hope you start your treatment soon.

Debbie:- I feel fat and bloated at the moment too :P hope the follicle fairy done her job.

Clair 55/AngelWG. :- I haven't done any sniffing before. Hope it all goes well for you girls

Sorry If I missed any of you girls out. Sending you lots and lots of PMA :D :D :D
