Acupuncture and IVF/FET

I have just started accupuncture and for the first time ever AF is early . I usually have a 30 day cycle this month it was 25 days. Do you think this could be related? Not too hopeful for good blood test results tommorrow now.

Hi Ellie - It certainly messed my cycle up ... Not really in terms of it starting on schedule, but bad pains for days prior to AF, then as you've probably read, AF from hell last week !

Hope your blood results are on track tomorrow. Just as with IVF, it seems that everyone reacts differently to acupuncture - so don't worry yourself unneccesarily.

Hi Ellie - My acu doc mentioned to me that acupuncture will mess up your cycle...but over time will get back to the normal pattern. I was a couple of days late and the cycle itself had changed.

If you have concerns - talk to your acupuncturist.

Just to add my tuppence-worth here. Since starting acu my AF has been a few days late, BUT is over with much quicker. I have found that the flow is much stronger on Day 1 and by Day 2 it has finished. Days 3 and 4 I can actually go without a tampon. So for me, acu seems to have helped the blood flow and shortened the number of days that AF lasts. My acu guy’s aim is to ‘clear out’ the waste from my body as quickly as possible to prepare it for the new cycle, so seems to be working from that perspective.
