Hi girls
I am about to come to London for an IVF at the Assisted Reproduction and Gynaecology Center after a first try in Italy being frustrated by 18 eggs produced, 3 fertilized and no success!
Just to let you know girls that in Italy the current law did not allow to froze your embryos and you have to start the stimulation anytime you want to do your cycle!
Anyway I chose the ASGC center since according to the HFEA report the center seems very successfull (58%) at my age of 34 but I would love to receive any positive or negative advice regarding the center.
Not at the ARGC myself (I’m treated at Holly House) but I know LittleP was treated successfully there so sure she will help you. I go to an acupuncturist who works closely to them so I do benefit from second-hand information and tips!
I’m married to an Italian (we travel out there at weekends to go ‘home’) so I know all too well the crazy rules re IVF. Husband wants us to move back to Italy but until we have given IVF (ICSI) our best shot we cannot move as there is no way I would want to treated over there. I was very disappointed about the recent referendum results – I cannot believe that all those young people didn’t even vote to allow donor eggs and sperm because the Vaticano told them not to! So with the attitude to IVF not being that great over there (even though we are using own eggs and sperm I don’t think people would approve), we stay in the UK until we either become successful or we make a decision to adopt (which we’d try to do in Italy). We haven’t told our families and definitely wouldn’t tell DH’s even if successful.
As Dancola has said, I have just had a positive with the ARGC - it is still early days so am keeping everything crossed.
I can only sing their praises - they have been fantastic, supportive and very thorough all the way through the treatment.
You will need to have loads of available time as they see you on a daily basis at one stage of the treatment (sometimes twice daily), but if the outcome is right, then it is worth the committment.
Good luck with them and if you want any advice let me know.
