Hi Folks,
Clinic phoned today to confirm +ve results, the Sister said my HCG levels were very good...550, When I asked what that meant she said anything over 100 is very good, I have heard that raised HCG levels can possibly indicate a multiple birth, anyone else know ?
Scorry x

Hi Scorry,

Congratulations!!!

I've also heard that high levels can mean multiples but not always the case. In my case it did... my hcg was 520 and that was 12 days after a 3 day transfer and I'm pg with twins. Good Luck.

When is your first scan?

Maggie.xx
Hi Scorry
Congratulations on your wonderfull result.I dont post very often but I thought I would pass on what the clinic told me.I was told the normal range is 50 to about 220.below this may indicate a problem and above may indicate a multiple pregnancy.
Good luck and WOW!
love Frances
Scorry,

prepare yourself......I too had similar readings to you and ...twins....what can I say!!! AT least prepare yourself for the possibility. AT my first scan I went into shock when they saw two heartbeats but now they are here it is the best thing ever!!!

Do you have to come down to Aberdeen for your scans??

Anyway if I don't speak to you before (off on hols Thursday) have a brilliant Holiday and get loads of rest.

Love
Nicky
Thanks Nicky & Frances for your input - much appreciated!!
Yes, we have to fly to Aberdeen to have our 1st scan - 6th Jan - soooooo excited!!!!!!!! I had a good laugh yesterday, DH's mum & Dad are as high as kites and she told me she went down the town and bought wool and a knitting pattern!!!!!It's hard tying to keep them down to earth as we're practically having to scrape them off the ceiling!
But what a Christmas present, still can't quite believe it.
Best wishes,
Scorry x

Scorry,

Have a brilliant holiday and take the time to let everyone else do the running around...you just put your feet up...eat mince pies (before the morning sickness kicks in... and enjoy your last holiday as a mum to be!!!

We are off on hols tomorrow so won't have access to this site from home but will raise a wee glass to you on Hogmany and will be back to work on the 6th so let us know how it goes and how many there are!!!

Keep peeling those parents off the ceiling!!
Nicky
Hi Scorry

Excellent news from the clinic then!!! Bet you can't wait for the scan!

I'm afraid my mum has already knitted a white caridigan with 2 little hats, a pink cardigan (obviously is hoping for a girl!) and has started another little white jacket thing. Keep telling her MY BABY WILL BE BORN IN THE HEIGHT OF SUMMER MUM!!!! There's no stopping the women. My sister came over last night with two huge boxes of baby things, blankets, sheets, clothes etc. Don't think we'll have to buy much stuff at this rate!

Makes is all the more exciting I think!

Let them revel in it I say, they're entitled and so are we!

Love Sarah
Hi Sarah,
Glad to see there are others with families that have gone completely mental over the news!!!! I received 2 large padded envelopes in the post today containing, every current baby/pregnancy magazine on the shelves at the moment, a 'mum to be' card, and 4 baby name books (from my sisters), it seems to have sunk in for them but not fully for me yet.

How are you? When is your due date?
Scorry x
