Just found out BFP!

Post by Babl »

Hey all, never thought I would be on this side :D
I found out on Friday that I was Pregnant, I tested a day earlier than I was supposed to and my HCG was 49. The clinic said that they were happy with that number, And I need to test again on Tues, to make sure that it goes up. The funny thing I am so happy, but at the same time so Nervous, that this will all go away. I know everyone feels the same.

Has some of you gals had some Af pains, I occasionally get some sharper pains maybe 3-4 times a day, not for very long and they go away. Also alttle tired and today a very bad heachache! Is this all normal. I thought the 2WW was bad! This is bad, but with a postive twist!

Hi Brooke

Congratulations on your BFP!! :D :D
You will be nervous and worry, its only natural after all you have been through to get to this point. It does feel like an extension of the 2ww as well, while you are waiting for blood tests/scans etc. The good thing is that you will have plenty of people to share this with on the first trimester thread. They are a very supportive bunch!
As far as aches and pains are concerned, I had to get used to daily AF type pains which have only recently become less frequent. I do get other sharp pains as well and presume it is all to do with the womb stretching and growing. As long as any pains arent constant or becoming v.painful dont worry!! As far as other symptoms are concerned, some women get nausea, headaches etc, some dont. My nausea appeared to kick in more from my 11th week! I also get days where I get v.tired.
Welcome to pregnancy!!
Good luck with your blood test on Tuesday
Take care

Welcome Brooke and congrats to you and DH on your BFP!

The first trimester is in a sense an extension of the 2ww as far as the worrying goes. Lots of unusual aches and pains to deal with, but keep in mind that your body is hard at work preparing for life. Actually the worrying really never stops, even after the baby is born, but that comes with the territory.

The only advise that I can give is to read as much as possible, rely on your new friends on the first trimester thread, and never hesitate to call your doctor if something just doesn't seem right (that's why they are paid the big bucks). Every woman reacts differently to being pregnant ... some have headaches, some nausea, most are unusually tired (esp. 1st trimester), some experience spotting, and the list goes on. Your ovaries are still probably swollen, so keep that in mind with the AF pains. It can also be your uterus stretching a bit as well. Again... anytime you're just not sure call your doc.

Welcome to this side and enjoy the roller coaster =) of emotions. It's an amazing process.

Hi Brooke - great to see you joining over here - there's also a thread called 'first trimester' which is good for us newly BFP'd! I also have experienced daily AF type pains and not much else in terms of symptoms (bit of tiredness, loss of appetite and funny taste in mouth) but everyone is so different I'm not worrying about it. Yes you're right about the worrying - it's almost worse now than the 2ww but yes it does have a different feel - exciting and so positive because whatever happens, it's such a huge milestone to have reached. When is your first scan? Mine is on Friday and I can't wait. Welcome and enjoy the feeling - it's simply fantastic,
