How are all our wonder-babies??

Post by DebraP »

I thought it was time we had a 'puff out our chests and sing the praises of our children' time. We waited a very, very long time to be proud-mummies!

Here goes.. Maya (DD) is now 26m.

* She sings and chats in both languages + has a grasp of some peculiarities of Norwegian grammer that still baffle me. Her vocab is excellent and improves everyday.
* She sleeps through perfectly right now (8pm until we wake her) but I've seen that her first back molar is looming....
* Her picky eating phase has passed. She loves fish, most veggies (hooray, I thought this day would never come), fruit and still has a thing for strong flavours: olives, mustard, Marmite, parmasan etc.
* She's very affectionate and runs in to cuddle DF every morning after I've got her up (he works until midnight). She shouts (in Norwegian) 'Daddy did you sleep well?' which cracks us both up. If one of us asks for a kiss, she'll oblige but then run to find the other of us to bestow a kiss on them too. She also likes to have group BIG HUGS (eg. from Teletubbies - which she still loves).
* She's a star jig-saw player. Completely crazy about them, bored with ones suitable for 5yr olds...we buy new ones as often as possible and she does them first time...

that's enough boasting from me :) what are your babies doing??? tell all please.

Debra.

Debra,
Never one to miss an opportunity to boast about Ms Annie-Boo! Here goes:

# Annie is now eight and a half months (boy that still amazes me!)
#She has three teeth, two down the bottom and one up the top. She has the strongest bite..I put my thumb in her mouth this morning with obvious results!
#She is pulling herself to standing and crawling like a demon. I have started the inevitable baby proofing.
#She loves her cloth and cardboard books and will often babble whilst playing with them.
#John is convinced that she has said "dada" on a number of occassions, this is either wishful thinking on his behalf or complete coincidence that she seems to do this when I am away from the room
#She sleeps from 7pm until about 6am..Bliss!! and has a morning and an afternoon nap god bless her cotton socks!

She is divine, beautiful, awe inspiring, breathtakingly amazing.
I love her to pieces

Hi All,

Not been on here for ages being a busy mummy but I saw this this post and couldn' t help but to post.

Bradley is 6 mths old on 30th July & wow, like your babies has changed our lives so much. He loves the tweenies & Big Cook Little Cook in the cafe ( hope you know what I am on about ). He has slept through the night since 6 weeks old & never took a soother.
He has pure white hair that stands on his head & piercing blue eyes. he has got a" thing" for when he gives mummy a kiss he has a chew on my nose, (he hasn't got any teeth yet ) so it is still allowed. He loves dancing in my arms & just today started dancing himself in his baby walker, it brought tears to my eyes. He loves hidi_boo & is very ticklish.
JUst this week started eating our own food (blended) & he loves spaghetti bolognese obviously without the pasta bit.

He hates glasses & cries everytime he sees someone who wears them & they say hello except for his nana. He also dislikes dogs & what amazes me is that at such a young age he is so independant & knows his own likes & dislikes & he is such a wonderful person. I could never imagine our lives without Bradley, the new things every day, the smiles, the cries, the hugs, the nose chewing & of course the hearty little laughs that just make me look at him in awe everyday.
Enough of me going on now because like you this could go on forever, but one thing I will say is how lucky & blessed we are to be having this amazing experience & what wonderful little people our children are.

Thank you for the oppotunity to have a little boast about my little man & also to read about your wonderful babies

Take care everyone & hugs to all the little ones :D :D :D :D

Amelia

I have loved reading about your beloved children - my Amelia is now 8 months old, still a little small for her age but developing as she should. She has 2 bottom teeth and eats whatever we give her but her favourite food is a small piece of cheese (white stilton with apricots!). She says dada, and loves growling and blowing raspberries. She sleeps from 8pm until 7am and has done since she was 11 weeks old (lucky me). She is always happy - only time she cries is when she is tired and she is the light of our lives - together with her older brother and sister of course!
We are not crawling yet, at the moment sitting with toys is perfectly satisfying!

Love to you all
