Smita - Welcome to the 2nd Trimester. Good news on your scan, I bet it was amazing to see!
Thanks everyone for your advice on my Hb levels. I havent got my results back yet, but feel ok so not worried. My (midwife) friend said she would only think about iron supplements if my levels were less than 10 (They were 11.1). Another friend gave me a pregnancy book which mentioned Nettle tea helping with iron levels, so might try that.
I went out last night with a few friends (Celebrating my birthday). I havent been out (much) since been pg. It was quite funny seeing my friends drunk when I was sober!
Me and DH are going on holiday for a few days from tommorrow to the Isle of Wight and wont be back until Thursday. Looking forward to a break.
It will be strange not been able to look at this site until I get back! Ive been out buying clothes this last couple of days. Buying half maternity clothes (mainly bottom half!) and squeezing into 'normal' tops. (Mainly to show off my bump!!)
Hope everyone is doing ok and Ill catch up with you all when I get back.
Take care
Love Kim.

It's nice to hear from you. Hope your 2nd trimester goes well. It's an exciting time.
Kim - Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you and you DH have a very nice holiday. Take advantage of the time alone with eachother. Best of luck with you Hb results. The 20 week scan is great. You will be amazed how much things have developed.
Sher - Glad you're feeling good. Summer is definitely taking a toll on our hydration. Gotta keep the fluids on hand at all times.
Susie -Many prayers come your way for a perfectly healthy baby. Modern medicine is so advanced now. Keep the faith and it will all work out for you.
Mil - Sorry about the headaches. Hopefully the cooler weather of the fall will bring you relief. Hearing the baby's heartbeat is so reassuring! You also get to hear it at every OB visit. Very funny when the baby moves as mine is now and they have to follow it around to get a good reading.
Julie - Glad your cerclage went well. I've had friends carry twins and some did show pretty early and significantly. Best of luck going forward.
Minnow - Sorry you are still feeling sick. Hopefully relief is on the way as you progress thru the 2nd trimester.
Take Care Ladies!

I'm actually a little more than 23 weeks. Due Dec 2nd. Gone thru a lot to get to this point and getting nervous as time is going by so fast. I truly feel we are all very blessed to be expecting after so much struggle. I hope you are doing well. Take Care!

I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well these days. Seems we do not post as much when things are running smooth. I kind of like it that way.
I had my first pregnancy massage yesterday and it was lovely. I felt real refreshed today. As I approach 15 weeks, I am still in my regular clothes - just not buttoning my pants at the moment - and my appetite is increasing slowly. Looking forward to some cooler days in the Fall. It has been one HOT summer. This a.m. I interviewed for a part-time job that I think would work well once baby arrives. I hope I get it!!
Take care all,
Sher

Hi all,
Just wantedto say hi..
Sher that pregnancy massage sounds lovely.. I long for someone to give me a massage!
Christine, almost there huh ??24 weeks..wow! its amazing you think time has flown, cause for now all I can feel is, how long I've been pregnant- Its a wonderful feeling but, somehow,I feel more pregnant than 3 months.. Maybe because we all are generally aware of every step in the process, starting from af up to now..I cant wait until I'm 24 weeks when I can be reasonably sure abt this whole process coming thru..
Kim,
you shd be back from holiday.. hope it was relaxing..
My dh was here (I'm at my parents place- in Banglore, India) on a visit from bahrain(middle east) where we live -he left this morning- spent 3 days cause thats all the 'off' he could take from work this month..
Feeling low now that he's left this morning..will count down to the next time he can come..
Anyway,
Have a GREAT WEEKEND all of you!

Back from my holls - and its raining here today! Was lovely weather though while away. Did lots of sightseeing (I intended to relax, but have to do things!!). Did lots of walking. Felt ok, so probably exercise did me good!
I seem to cope ok during the day, but get uncomfortable on a night. cant seem to settle in a position which is comfortable now. Get quite restless and sometimes get out of breath. Does anyone else find this? Ive ordered a pregnancy support pillow to help me sleep easier.
Not rung to find out my blood test results yet. (Forgot today!) Presume they are ok since no phone messages or anything through the post.
Smita - Hope you are feeling ok. I can imagine its hard DH not always been there, especially when you are going through all the ups and downs of pregnancy. Take care of yourself.
Sher - I had a massage from my friend who I trained alongside to be an aromatherapist. She is also a midwife, so massages pregnant women at the hospital where she works, when they have back problems etc. I was a bit concerned when she said my back felt like a 40 week pregnant woman not a 17 week one!! I think it was stress - Id had a bad day at work.
Good luck with the job!
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone (Feels like ages ago now!).
Hope everyone else is keeping well.
Love Kim

Its a bit quiet on here! Presume its because everyones doing ok and dont have much news to update on.
Has anyone felt the baby move yet? I felt some strange 'prodding' from inside on Sunday. It wasnt painful, but made me gasp with surprise. I cant imagine what else it was! Ive been waiting for the butterflies to start. Now obscessed with keeping still and trying to feel something! Im used to feeling pain on both sides low down now, Im presuming thats ligaments stretching. Still getting nausea! I think Ill miss it when it goes!
Minnow - Hope your nausea and sickness has calmed down. I know I wouldnt be saying that if id gone through it like you had!
Susie - When are you due for your scan? Hope its soon and can put your mind at rest.
Hope everyone else is ok

Hi I hope you dont mind me joining in I have been lurking since I got pregnant I was quite active whist going through ICSI treatment but I have not had anything to say recently.
Anyway stupidly I had the triple blood test even though me and DH agreed not but I felt pressured into it by my midwife, well the test came back 1:150 chance and I am beside myself I will not have an amnio as the chance of miscarriage is 1:100 and it could be a healthy baby,I just wish I had not had the test done
Im glad you came to join us. Im so sorry you are going through this worry.
I debated over the triple test. It was my midwife who said there wasnt much point in me having it because I was dead set about not having an amnio. She actually said whats the point in having the test when you may then worry about your results if they are more than 1 in 250 which is classed as high risk. She was saying even 1 in 100 are good odds if you were betting! Friends of mine had a 1 in 1000+ with their first daughter then 1 in 100 with their second. They decided not to have an amnio. She is perfectly healthy.
I know its easy to say dont worry, Im worrying about my 20 wk scan. But if you think about it, 1 in 150 surely must be ok. Im not sure but isnt the test also approx 65% accurate? So not that reliable anyway.
Keep in touch!
Love Kim

Hi All
Tyler - I so know where you are coming from. I had a nuchal scan and the results show my baby could have a heart defect. My blood shows very unlikely to have downs, but the large nuchal could indicate a chromasomal abnormality or heart problem. I just keep saying that if I hadnt had the nuchal scan I'd be happy skipping around and buying baby clothes. Instead I'm worrying 24/7 and hiding my pregnancy in case theres a problem.
I am sorry if I offend anyone but I cant carry on with a pregnancy if I know there is a problem eg downs etc. After telling my consultant this she has agreed to scan me herself at 19 weeks then at 23 weeks and she said on the scan they will be able to see if there are indicators of a problem, and I can have an amnio then if anything shows up. Part of me cant wait til my scan coz my worrying will be over but then again I could get a whole new set of problems.
K - My scan is on 1st September I felt the baby move from 12 weeks but this is my second, and only I occasionally feel it up to now.
I am going to shop till I drop if alls OK at the 20 week scan. I'm going to buy the pram and then go on a girly shopping trip with my DD to buy clothes for bubs as we have all the stuff eg bath cot etc, but as its a new baby I want a new pram.
Anyway hope your all OK

Susie and Tyler,
I cant begin to imagine the mental anguish you both must be going thru..
Like Kim said, the odds of anything going wrong are low, so I hope your 20 w scans will say all is wonderful!
Good Luck with the scans!
Kim, 2 weeks to go for your scan and you'll be relieved..
I have a question, did you all go thru an internal check up around the beginning of the 2nd tri, or is it just procedure in India??Just wanting to know..
Catch you all later..

Susie - Although Im sure everything will be fine, only you can know whats best for you and your family and what you can cope with. I would definitely never judge anyone else on what they did and I will offer my support to you whatever happens. Its so hard for both you and Tyler having to go through these tests, which arent completely reliable or diagnostic and then having to wait for further tests and worrying so much that you cant enjoy your pregnancy. Part of me just doesnt want my 20 week scan because Im worried they are going to say theres a problem.
Smita - Apart from the early pregnancy scans which were transvaginal ones, I havent had an internal at all. I know from reading books that internals used to be done in the past, but they tend to use other methods nowadays here. (Although since my scans I have not had any sort of examination or even my baby's heart listened to!). Maybe its different even in different areas of a country, unless they examined you because of the spotting?
Good luck to all of us on our up and coming scans, that all is ok.
Take care everyone
