Hello Everyone,

Jag thank you for the update on everyone. It looks like there are plenty of August Buddies who will be ready for EC this week.

As for me I will be having transfer on Friday. No EC since I am doing a natural FET. It is nice to know that there will be plenty of us on the 2WW together.

Nicola, I also had a good cry yesterday, and I am not even on any drugs. IVF is so stressful, but I am glad I got my cry out of the way so now I can focus on being positive.

After my cry my husband did something so sweet I just have to brag a little. I was sitting at my vanity last evening getting ready to go out for dinner when DH come in and brushed my hair, but the really special thing is what he said---"see, I will be a good dad." I know this seems simple, but this is from a guy who is extremely reserved when it comes to expressing his emotions (both physically and verbally).

It seems I have been spending a lot of energy reminding DH that this treatment might not work----it is not a sure thing. I am afraid that he is going to be more crushed than me if things do not turn out the way we hope.

On that note, I am sorry to everyone whose cycle is not going as planned. Canceled cycles are such a disappointment.

I hope everyone is doing well. Staci, keep us posted with what is going on. I think our 2ww wait will overlap at least a little.

Sandra, thanks for sticking around even when you are not in the middle of a cycle. Having familiar faces around really means a lot!!!

Love, Mia

Chanteq,

Well done on EC!

Gail,

I'm really sorry to see what you are going through. The Dr.'s always try to tell me how rare OHSS is but it seems like there is at least one person on here who gets it pretty bad each month so how rare can it really be?! I know things probably seem terrible right now but just try to look forward to having the embryos transferred when you are back in top form.

Nicola,

I was crying yesterday for no reason as well. Fortunately, I'm doing a little better today....but I don't know how long that will last!

Mia,

I don't know why but, for some reason, I always had the impression your DH was much older than you! I'm not sure why I would have thought that. At any rate, it sounds like he is getting excited about the prospect of this working which is great.

Okay, everyone, off to find something to do so will say goodbye for now.

Hello ladies

Wow Monday is going to be such a busy day. Good luck to Gail for your EC and to Chanteq for your ET. Good luck to all you scanning ladies. Let us know how you get on.

What's a baseline scan is it the first scan or is it just a scan?

Welcome Yvonne to this month! Are you starting down regging drugs today? Hope all goes well.

Mia your story re your DH brushing your hair made me cry. He will make a great dad and you will make an even greater mum.

It must have been a day for crying yesterday as I had a cry too. Someone told me it was because of Mars that I was crying I had to laugh I didn't want to tell them it was IVF drugs!!

To everyone else I hope you are all feeling good and side effects aren't too bad. Does anyone else feel a constant pain in their ovary - I find it uncomfortable to sit straight.

Sending positive vibes around the world.

Sorry just reading different threads. A lot of people say to take Gataraid sp? This seems to be the folks in the states - what is this - is it like a sports drink? :? We don't have it in NZ but would like to buy something similar if it helps. Should I be taking it now I'm on the stim drugs to prevent OHSS or just between EC and ET? I would be grateful for your advice.

Thank you!

Hey Jag,

Gatorade is a sports drink sold in the US and Canada (not sure about the UK) - but you may be able to find different brands of the same composition. I was told to begin drinking it about 2 days prior to EC and all the way through my 2ww...I am also prone to OHSS. I was told to drink 2 bottles daily (710 ml each), but you may want to verify the amounts - if you're petite like me it may be sufficient. Gatorade does not replace water - so be sure to get a good amount of water as well.

Also, I was told that "Ensure" which is a meal replacement (similar to Boost, if you're familiar with that) helps with OHSS. I'm guessing you can interchange that with the Gatorade.

Hope that helps, and good luck.

Hello All,
Good luck everyone - this thread does seem to be a bumpre one. I've long since given up trying to keep track of where everyone is but that doesn't mean I've forgotten about you all.
I guess several of you will be joining me on the 2ww this week. Best of luck to all of you.

Take care and don't worry about having a cry - it won't hurt and it may make you feel better. I just blame it on the drugs when I feel like that (not really sure if it is but it's a good excuse).

Keep up the PMA everyone

Love
