HM- I am consumed with jealousy that you can sew! Since work is taking me about 5 times as long to complete, due to headaches and pregnancy brain, guess now is not the time for me to learn...

Little P- have you tried the Sea-Bands? I swear by them. After putting them on, I never vomited again (did feel low-grade nausea, though). I traded in nausea for almost-migraine headaches, so am desperately trying remedies for those. Probably when I figure that out there will be something new. Hope you get your scan soon- it helps make all of these lovely symptoms bearable.

Has anyone felt any movement yet? I started feeling little tapping/fluttery things yesterday (13w3d), which I think may be the real thing. Certainly nothing like I've ever felt before.

I'm going in for a cerclage tomorrow. It's mostly a preventive measure, but I feel it's the right thing to do, especially as it will give me a little more peace of mind...

Hope you are all doing great.

Julie

Just heard from the hospital and I'm booked in for scan number 2 on Wednesday. I can't wait and yet at the same time I'm very nervous, thank goodness DH will be with me.

How exciting actually feeling things - that must make it so real. I hope you don't get too many kicks :D

I haven't tried anything except Peppermint Tea - this might sound daft but having nausea makes me feel slightly reassured about this. It helps me believe that this is really happening - I guess I'm still shocked :D

Hello!
Yay! Can I join in?? We just got home from our first ultrasound, and there's two kicking around in there!! So so excited I can hardly think!! It's what we wanted, but I was afraid to hope that we'd so lucky... They're both about the same size; I don't remember how big she said they were. (I'm seven weeks tomorrow.) DH and I were in quite a cloud... Both heartbeats looked good (118 and 129); hopefully they'll keep chugging along as they should. Whew!
Congrats and fingers crossed to all the other Multiple Moms!!

Shannon

Congratulations - it's an amazing thing to see and hear isn't it? :D

DH and I are still in shock about it all, although I can't stop staring at my bulging belly thinking .....

We have our second scan tomorrow so I'm now on tenderhooks again and praying very hard that everything is alright - obviously I will update once I get back.

HM and Gen - how are you both, I hope that you are resting and looking after yourselves.

Love

Little P

Congrats Shannon!

It's very exciting to see the little light spots blinking on the ultrasound monitor. I think they are about 1cm near the 7 weeks of age. I had my scan on 7wks and 5 days as of yesterday, they are about 1.5cm big. I could only see they hearts blinking fast on the monitor, but hard to see any limb buds. Hope in 2 weeks I return for another scan, then I should see more of their growth. Congratulations again, fingers crossed for your twins.

Little P,

I know you probably leaving the twins thread :?, but you always everywhere to give support to others. Keep up good faith on your little one. We only have 1 month to go to pass the first trimester, the most dangerous period of pregnancy. I pray for you always. Hugs!

Hi to all you ladies, i'm new to this and have just been reading about all your worries and sickness and thought i would share mine also.
I am 18 weeks pregnant with twins and for the 1st 12 weeks i felt sick all day and all night, some times were worse than others but i have never actually been sick. I was extremeley tired but happy to say i started feeling normal again at 15weeks. I've got my energy back aswell.
Still have the odd sick day though.
I thought i would stop worrying about everything after each milestone but i still worry now about if they are o.k
I don't think i will stop worrying until they are born.
I had quite bad stomach cramps in the 1st few weeks aswell and also had bleeding twice.
Thankfully all is well.
I wish I'd known about this site earlier when i had so many questions i wanted answering and so many worries, so i'd be happy to answer to anyone who needs a little reassurance if i can.
Good luck to you all
Cathy :P

Hi girls

We've just had our 20 week scan & its amazing how much you can see now.

Both babies are fine - they were measured (head, limbs, spine, heart ventricles etc) and we have very clear scans of both of them.

DH really wanted to know the sex so the sonographer tried to have a look but they were moving around so much that it wasn't easy. In fact one twin kept trying to get into the scan of the other. As she couldn't see any 'boy bits' we're assuming they are both girls & have nicknamed one 'Princess Pushy'.

My checkup was fine (blood pressure on the low side) & the midwife said I had good strong tummy muscles - must be all the keep fit I did!

Have had a couple of dizzy spells, puffy ankles in the hot weather & almost constant heartburn but apart from that I feel good.

We've decided to have a 3D/4D scan done around 24 weeks - we'll have to pay but as these will be our only children (I'm in my 40's) & when compared to the cost of IVF - what the hell!

Gen, I know what you mean, its difficult to wait between scans (I'd have one every week if I was allowed) Aren't you due to have your 12 week/nuchal scan soon?

Love to all.

Gen

That's outrageous - I thought all scans (apart from 3D) were done on the NHS.

Anyway, good luck & let us know how you get on.

I'm so sorry - you were there for me, so if you need a cyber hug you know there's one waiting.

Hope you are ok

Haven't heard from you for a while, just wanted to check that everything is going ok?

Do take care and hope that your absence is just because you are resting and looking after yourself properly.

Big hugs

L P,

I finally have the courage to log on again to write to you. I must missed a lot of your news. How are you and your baby? Thank you for thinking about me. I wish everybody doing fine and babies are healthy and strong.

I didn't want to tell anyone anything about my story, but I thought some of you had suffered from lossing your babies, so I need to face it for better or worse.

I have such an experience that scared me hell lot a few days ago. I had a serious bleeding in the mid of 11th week. My husband rushed me to emergency room at midnight. Doctors treated me for more than 3 hours. They determined that I had a threatened miscarriage. Glad my triplets are ok, but I was warned that they might have very high chance to pass, especially the one at the bottom, and they could do nothing to stop it. It sounds like it going to happen in just a matter of time. I have been in bed since then, pray all day long for my babies safety. I lay down in bed for most of the days, still have the vaginal discharge come out in light brown color, looks like old blood. The whole thing just looks like having a period. I'll see my OB in two days, hope he will give me a relievable news.

I feel very down but ok to hold on till the next check up. I will report when I get cheerful new.

Wish you all well.

Heather,
Its awful that you've had such a scare and thank God your babies are ok now.
Just rest as much as possible..I know what seeing brown discharge does to you, and how seeing it turn red makes you soo scared that it cant be described..

I'll keep you in my prayers..
Take care is all i can say and please post after your scan...
i was told not to climb up and down stairs at all and try to restrict myself to bed(this inspite of my carrying only one baby, so for you it becomes triply so) and to eat lots of fibre so that I dont become constipated  as I have become that way after pg- before that I was normal..but it seems it puts pressure on your uterus if you are not regular.. anyway, your doctor would have given you his set of instructions, I thought I'd add my 2penny bit having been thru this nightmare..
Cheers.. put your feet up, get pampered, read a book or watch a movie..

Sweetie - I'm so sorry you've both had to go through this, no wonder you've wanted to rest and look after yourself and the little trio. I shall keep everything crossed that the bleeding stops and by the time you have your next check-up the Little Trio are doing fine and perfectly settled.

Sending you and DH loads of hugs and love.

Take care

LP,

I'm so sad to tell you that two of my triplets are not fine. I'll soon leave the twins thread and join everybody as a singleton mom.

I wish the best the the only healthy one to survive to the birth. Have fingers crossed and pray for the safety of my baby.
