Update on me

Post by tonyacheek24 »

Hi Everyone!

I had ER yesterday, I feel like I have a big gas bubble in my stomach that won't go away but other then that I'm ok. I'm back at work. They retrieved 10 eggs from me praying that's ok and I'm waiting for the call to see how many fertilized. Say a prayer.

Way to go Sharon on 14 eggs and 10 fertilized.

Hi all,

We were out of town for the last few days for DH's job so I'm about 4 pages behind on posts. I quickly skimmed over them but will have to go back and read more carefully once I have a sec.

My scan did not go at all well this morning. I'm doing a FET so the main thing they are looking for is the lining to increase. It needs to be at least 8 mm for them to do the transfer. The last FET I did, I was on the same protocol and I was at 8.2 mm at this point in time (I never seem to develop a very thick lining). Anyway, today it only measured at 5 mm which was actually a decrease over last weeks 5.2mm. This is after being on double the dose of estradiol all week. The Dr. wants me to start taking 2 estradiol pills at night as a suppository in addition to the 8 pills I'm already taking orally per day (which is already a huge amount) and go back in next week. If that hasn't helped, it's suggested I cancel. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for my estrogen blood test result over the phone this afternoon. If that took a big drop, they suggest I may even want to cancel now; that it's up to myself and DH. I can't believe I've been doing all this preparation and medicine taking for weeks potentially for nothing and I'm really starting to feel like getting pregnant is just never going to happen for me. :(

Darling Staci,
Oh my heart goes out to you, hon. It must really be hard for you with all the horrendous meds and less than desired test results...

One thing i must stress though, dear, that your DREAM of becoming a mommy does not end with lab test results. I hope you'll stay calm and discuss this through with your dh on the next step of your tmts.

This forum is where your HOPE is still alive and kicking, even if you feel you're losing grip of it.

Stay calm & take care dear,
Chanteq

Hello All,
Some of you are having a really hard time - I'm sending a BIG HUG to you. Hope it hepls.

I'm just about hanging in here on the 2ww. Still no symptoms of anything and I just want it all to be over.

I'm trying to catch some of that PMA that so many of you seem to have. Bless you for staying so positive. I'm hoping that if I read PMA enough I'll begin to feel it too.

Take care all,
Love
Debbie

Staci .. You must feel feel like the whole worlds against you at the moment .. don't give up though pls ..you know how things can change so quickly from one day to the next. There's nothing to say the suppositories won't just sort the whole thing out. Try for a little PMA pls. Lets get everything crossed ready for next scan ... when is it Staci ? What were the estrogen results today ?

Thanks everyone for your support. It really means a lot to me. DH is so sick of me talking about the whole thing and he is clueless as far as what we should do. We're also both exhausted as, on top of all this, his car was broken into yesterday when we were traveling so that made a lot of extra headaches for us and we didn't manage to get back home until close to midnight last night.

My estrogen level turned out to be 297, which is triple what it was last week and more than the 267 it was at this time in my last FET (and then my lining was 8.2 mm and I was ready for transfer). I just don't understand it. At first I thought it'd be good news if my estrogen level at least went up but now I'm thinking maybe that's actually bad because that means my body is responding to the estradiol tabs. by making more estrogen but my lining is just not responding to my increasing estrogen levels so how is increasing my dose going to help?? :?

The nurse said in her message, it was up to me whether I wanted to add the additional tablets and try for another week then go in on Fri. Aug. 19 for another scan or just cancel. She said to let her know Monday. I didn't get her message until after they had closed so now I can't even ask more questions until after the weekend. I'm so tired right now that I don't even feel like I can make a rational decision. I guess I'm leaning towards just trying for one more week. Even if it's a longshot, I've already invested so much time and energy in this that I'm not sure it makes sense to give up then have to start all over again at a different point in time. On the other hand, if things are starting off this wrong, maybe it's best to bail out now and get a fresh start at some other time? Between birth control pills and downregging and everything, it's taken me almost 8 weeks to get to this point. I am having a hard time with the concept of stopping and starting over...

What would everyone else do? Has anyone ever had this happen in an FET by any chance?

I've been gradually trying to catch up with the posts to see what's going on with everyone else so please forgive me everyone until I do!

Mia, I did see your post about being cancelled. :( I'm so sorry. So much for our lucky month. I hope they get things sorted out so you can try again before too long.

My dear Staci - you poor thing. What a deliberation....... Although I have not been through FET and this is my first IVF so I am not fully experienced I think I would still continue. If you stop you may always think well, what would have happened if I had continued. You have come so far so what do you have to lose, unless its a danger to your health of course. You poor thing. I know what you mean about DH getting sick of talking about things - talk to us here. Remember we are all support group No. 2 after our DH's!

It is very frustrating your clinic doesn't have an after hours number for you to call. I am sure the other ladies will respond and give you some advice.

You sound to be absolutely exhausted both physically and mentally the car break in wouldn't have helped either. Try and get some rest if you can. Sending you a HU-BILLY-MUNGOUS HUG AND SQUEEZE TO YOU and a shoulder to lean on.

Ok I know 3 in a row but I realised I didn't update you on my visit to the clinic!!!
The scan went ok I have 20 follies ranging from 12mm - 6mm and several smaller, so they want them to be at 18mm (is this normal?). My lining is at 9mm.

Does this all sound ok? They seemed happy with me but I am always the sceptic.

So I have to go back for a scan on Tuesday 9am. They said EC will be Thursday.

So we will travel down again on Monday night. DH didn't want to stay down there until Mon so we travelled back last night. The drive wasn't too bad (3 1/2 hrs) and we did drive through snow!!!

Hope you ladies are good.

PMA all the way.

Staci .. I haven't been in your position, but I think I would want to go the whole hog and give it the extra week. Obv. you need to speak to your nurse on Monday, and iron out your concerns above but I think if they are giving you the option, it means there is a chance it can/will work. Otherwise, surely they'd just say so.

I know you'll be in turmoil until Monday and you make your decision .... Hope you've got plenty to occupy yourself with over the next couple of days ..
