I am 37 in November and have a daughter of 16 yrs - great I know. I have been with my husband now since she was 18months old and for the last 5 year have had 4 miscarriages and now have not managed to get pregnant for 2 years. I think i was carrying twins the last time as I had a miscarriage but blood showed I was still pregnant although scan etc showed I had lost baby! I wound up in hospital and hemoaraged internally but they could not find the fetus. I had undergone numerous investigations for PCO's and extreme pain with periods etc and then I was told I had bad adhesions and Endometriosis - they lasered it away and said I was all systems go. Still no explanation for miscarriages. Then when no joy returned to gynae and told my Husbands sperm had decreased and no chance of getting pregnant with him naturally without assitance. We have an appt at Fertility clinic on 12th sept for consultation, do you think we are eligible for NHS funding? I am excited that we may actually get pregnant again but terrified that if I do I will miscarry again! My head is all over the place - should I take the chance again or not? I don't know if I could take another loss, especially if we have all the treatment.
Hi Kim, you might want to check if the HFEA website has the ground rules on NHS funding. I'm not in the UK so don't know the ins and outs but have gathered from girls on here that local authorities don't always follow the rules. Good luck.
You've been through the wars haven't you? The fear of another loss doesn't go away I'm afraid but we are all here together and lend as much support as is possible.
Good luck with your apt. on 12th, which clinic? there are quite a few people having tmt in London so you might find some info from them.

You sound like you've been through the mill. As Debra say, not all local authorities follow the rules, plus some rules are set locally. For example, some authorities won't provide NHS funding if either partner already has a child - some will, provided the couple don't have a child between them.
Hope you do manage to get some funding.
Good luck !
