Caroline,

I felt so good reading about you. This was our 4th and last IVF with 2 previous positives that ended in miscarriage. I've read so much about the high aneuploidy rate in 40 and over eggs resulting in early misses and I was convinced that my eggs are just too old. And there you are! Had my 3rd HCG today and it was 951 after being 241 just 2 days ago so my MD still thinks more than one. I needed that badly but i'm still anxious about first US 2 weeks from today.
And to everyone in the 2ww. I had cramps and bloating and thought I was getting AF every time I had a positive! And yes, you can get sick as early as 12 days post retrieval. I still feel sick all the time but thanks to saltines and water and Zofran on my tongue I am not vomiting any longer. Incidentally I think I like feeling sick. It's very reassuring to me. Can't wait to hear about everyones BFP's!

Lisa, we were due another set of twins on here, looks like you're a prime candidate! 951 sounds very healthy indeed. Less than 2 weeks until your scan.

Nuala, no it's not a bug or if it is, a little, tiny, size of a full-stop type of bug that will get progressively bigger!

Debbie, how can you be lonely when we're on here being silly? These last 4 days will stretch out but they WILL go, promise!

Randa, I looked at the book on Amazon. I'm so not a fan of Ms Sommers, too many infomercials for me to take her seriously + repeats of that chronically bad, ancient sit-com Step by Step. I will think about it though. Seems like something for when we've either had a baby or called it a day. Too many chemicals floating around via tmt to clash with.

Yes AF was last week, bang on time. If I'm Sept. it will be v.v.late Sept so could easily spill over in October.

The clinic called today with good FSH results (7.9) so we're off for the first scan next Friday (26th) and will start downregging on Sunday 28th. Sharon and Randa, we're within a day or two of each other.

hugs
Debra.

Debra

Wonderful news about the FSH levels - that holiday obviously did you the world of good

Hope that the scan goes well and then you can get going - will keep everything crossed for you.

Big hugs

Erjumper (Lisa)..
Me too. I worry more about having an healthy egg than being positive.
My doctor tested the embryo tissue after my DNC and there it was...a triple chromosome 16, very common to older mothers. Like you I'm praying that I will become pregnant with a healthy egg
(s  ).
Love and Hugs to you and your little one(s  )!!

Debbie, it's so nice to share our thoughts with people who REALLY know and understand the 2ww. Lots of PMA now. We are all praying hard for you both over the next couple of days and willing along that BFP. :D Take care.

DebraP - I may have missed your post - will check again, but did you get your FSH levels back yet? Would be interested to hear.

DebraP,

Just found it - sorry! Great FSH result - hasn't this come down since last time? It really is a good start to set you on your way. I'm really pleased to see us 3 girls cycling together give or take a few days - I've only been on this site since April but feel like I've known you and Randa for such a long time - I think it's your contribution to the posts - I really do appreciate them. They are invaluable.

Prayers and fingers crossed for the 2ww'ers - thinking of you all this week.

Hugs

Sharon, yes it does feel like we know each other doesn't it?

Thanks to everyone for your support re. my FSH numbers. The clinic were really pleased (as was I). You're right Sharon, they were 14.4 in January, 8.9 in Feb and now 7.9. Smita, your comments really helped, thank you.

hugs to everyone, esp. the 2wwers.....

dhea question

Post by tracker »

Hi,

Can I ask if any of you ladies in this group are taking dhea when you cycle?

If so, how are you feeling, and are you getting better results?

I'm in Australia and apparently this is classified as a controlled substance(!) but you can obtain the micronised version via prescription, so I want to get abit more info.

The research around this sounds incredible, yet I haven't had any doctor even mention it to me!

Any shared experiences would be great.

Cheers,

Tracy,
Welcome. Can't help with dhea, haven't heard of it. Is it a stimulating fertility drug? What role does it play in IVF? I have taken Lupron, Folistem, Repronex and HCG.
The other ladies on this board are much more experienced than I. Perhaps one of them can be more help. Best of luck!

Hi Randa,

Thanks for your reply, DHEA is a hormone supplement. Some women use it as a complement to their ivf cycle. Currently there is alot of research being done (in US) on this and the results are so far quite stunning. The snapshot is that women taking this supplement (for a period of up to 4 months) are yielding a greater quantity and even more incredibly, a greater quality of eggs. See link:

http://www.centerforhumanreprod.com/pre ... aries.html

Research is centred around women over 40.

This is could potentitally be one of the great breakthroughs in fertility.

It all sound very breathless at the moment, I have found a few other forums where women are self administering and getting great results. In most countries, including US, this is available over the counter in health food stores.

Unfortunately for some of us, DHEA is considered a controlled substance (I think because it has been used as a performance enhancing drug in athletics).

Anyway, I can only encourage you or anyone else to do further research if you're interested.

It's one of those things that if it really is that great - you want the research in a hurry!

Hello All,
Feeling great today but just because I've been offered the job from the interview I had last week. I'm over the moon. I could be made redundant in a few months so this way it's all under my control (control freak or what). Still, I'm hoping that this is going to be a GREAT week for me. It's certainly given me a boost for today. Still assuming that if I get through tomorrow without af showing then I'm in with a chance of getting a BFP. Would just about round off my week nicely.
PMA well and truly back (for today at least) :D :D :D
Take care all.
Love
