Thanks Deb for that feedback...

I had actually written it wrong.... FSH was 14 at beginning of treatment 17 at end (time of cancelation).

 Does Zita West's book tell you how to help lower FSH...or do you Girls have any suggestions...

Hi Jeni

I'm really sorry to here about your cycle being cancelled. When you feel ready why don't you arm yourself with a few questions and either arrange to go and see them or give them a call. Seeing this is my first cycle i can't really offer anymore advice.

When i first had my fsh checked it was 12. I then had it checked the next month and it had slighly come down to 11. The hospital that carried out my inital tests said it was because i had most of my left ovary removed and since we are born with all our eggs then my supply had been decreased. I was also told that i would probably have an early menopause and then to put the final boot in i was told that my eggs were probably no good and i would have to use donor eggs. BUT.....

When i was refered to my current clinic i had fsh checked again it was 14.8 but my consultant scanned me and said that he was quite confident my problem was more quantity of eggs than quality. It just shows you the difference in practice amongst hospitals and clinics.

Just seen your posting and yes there are a few dietry tips and complimentry therapies to try, I recommend the book to anyone.

Good luck and loads of hugs

Jag,

Glad you are feeling better and wishing you the best for Fri!

Clair,

Sounds like things are coming along well!

Babysoft,

I'm glad they discovered what the issue is and that it's something which can be corrected. It sounds like you may have a good chance conceiving naturally after all.

Nicola,

Have a wonderful time in Italy. If you happen to come accross an internet cafe or anything while there, feel free to update all of us so we are not left in suspense :)

Debbie,

Congrats on the job. That is wonderful news!

Well, I got all of 2 hours sleep last night because I am so nervous about whether or not I'll be canceled when I go in this morning. Normally, I would have taken a sleeping pill but am too paranoid about anything adversely affecting my lining. Hopefully, I'll have good news to post when I get back (for once!).

Best wishes to all those I know I've missed. I've been reading along but still have a hard time keeping up with more than the 5 or 6 most recent posts.

Well, I went into the clinic this morning figuring that the absolute worst case scenario would be that my lining wouldn't have improved, I'd start the 7 day course of progesterone in order to do the biopsy and at least there would be an end in sight.

Little did I know that was not the worst case scenario. My lining was still only 5.4 to 6mm but (are you ready for this?) that is actually too thin to even do the biopsy. Apparently, they need at least 7 mm for that. So, the nurse gave me an IM shot of some sort of estrogen. Meanwhile, I have to continue with the 10 pills per day I'm already taking and the lupron (which I'm probably going to run out of) then go back in for another IM shot on Sat. then another ultrasound Tues. At that point, if it's at least up to 7, then I'll start the progesterone for the biopsy. If not, then it's time to just completely scrap doing anything this cycle.

As you can all imagine, I am getting very sick of taking so much medication at this point. It's definitely having an effect everywhere except for where it's supposed to be. I haven't gotten my estrogen level yet for today but I'm guessing it's pretty high. And, I'm now questioning if the biopsy is even worth this much extra torment but I feel like I'm already into this so far that it'd be stupid to back out. It's like there's no end in sight to this cycle. I am seriously wishing I had just done a fresh one...although the way things are going that probably would have gone terribly as well.

I am not a happy person right now :( !

Jeni,
I dont know abt Zita's book, but my clinic put me onto a steroid called Wysolone5mg for 3 months.. they did tell me that they couldnt do much for fsh, but they were giving it a shot., and it helped lower my fsh to 8.3 and they started my cycle..(Don't know if it was my hormones or the steroids)
Also, in India since we're big on Yoga, I did some yoga religiously since its believed that it helps to harmonise your glands and hormones..
Maybe in the west since acupuncture is lot more popular, you could try a consultation with someone..
Hope this helps..

Chanteq,
Just want to say you're like sunshine!!Go girlfriend!
Hope all the others are fine..

Hello all,
Well I'm well and truly fed up and anxious today. I was pretty sure that af would show today (as with my previous 2 tmts) but nothing yet!!! Now getting my hopes up that I'll have a BFP on Friday. Would just be typical for af to show tomorrow though - just giving me more time to sweat. DH will let me buy a hpt tomorrow if af still hasn't shown. He keeps asking me how I feel but I really don't feel anything - have had one or two twinges as if af is going to show, but that could really be my imagination. Can't help feeling nervous, excited, panicy that this time it just might have worked!!!! Keeping everything crossed.

Staci - sorry to hear that things are not going so well for you. Let's hope that they can sort this problem out and give you the best chance of things working next time round.

Take care all

Love

Jeni, there's no conventional method of lowering FSH. Zita does have quite a few suggestions. I've written them on another thread long ago but will shoot around and see if I can find them before writing them all out again. Bear with me....I'll be back on a bit later.

Staci sweetheart. You're in the wars aren't you? I'm so sorry today wasn't better news. I can only keep hoping that Tuesday's scan brings better news.

Good luck everyone

Hi

Clair55 - The results of your scan sound good! Well done !

Jag - glad you are feeling better today. Good luck with your trigger injection tonight. The one I have to do on Saturday looks really scary.

Debbieed - Congratulations on the new job. Good luck for Friday.

Dancola - good luck for the 2WW and enjoy your time in Italy.

Babysoft - Hope AF hurries up so you can get going

Staci - Sorry that things are rough for you at the moment. Best wishes to you.

I had a blood test on Monday, which they seemed happy with and today I had both a scan and a blood test. I have been having some sharp pains in my stomach for the last couple of days which made the scan uncomfortable to start with.
The good news is that on my right there is about 13 or 14 follies of a good size largest size 19mm others 12-16mm with some smaller ones.

They had a lot of trouble finding my left ovary and this caused more pain and made me a bit tearful. There were some of a reasonable size and about 5 or 6 smaller ones.

After the scan I asked if my ovary going "Missing in Action" would be a problem during collection and the Dr said that he was not worried because, if it came to it, there would be enough on the right side.

I think I may have been a bit over sensitised today as the blood test really hurt, and up to now I have been ok with it. I got a bit tearful again! - wow do I feel daft!

I should have gone into work this afternoon but felt a bit battered by it all.

From the results of the results of todays blood test I dont need to inject myself today or tomorrow :D

I have another Scan on Friday and they are doing EC on Monday.

Best wishes to everyone
Ange

Jeni, I found it....

Zita suggests accupuncture, on the acupoints to help balance the pituitary gland. She also says the following might help:

* a detox (see Healthy Minds/Healthy Bodies thread)
* gentle exercise, losing any excess weight etc.
* relaxing, deep breathing, meditating on the colour blue.
* B complex and zinc supplements
* keep your lower abdomen warm
* specific herbal supplements
* a fatty acid supplement
* eating more beans, pulses, onions and garlic
* eating more foods with physo-oestrogens.

I also read lots online about this and discovered that as levels fluctuate each month, they can naturally adjust up or down. A general increase can't usually be reversed though. My clinic told me that even if my high level in January was an indication of perri-menopause that I still had a 2-3 year window to continue treatment.

:) Hi Debs

thanks for all that running around you did to get me info. much apprectated girl....

Do ya think it could be an perri-/ early menapause, I have just turned 38? .............That will be another question to ask the hosp on friday.

I ordered Z.West's book to-day so that will help me do some positive work on Self.

On the health front I have multiple sclerosis and (since diagnosed in April)have been working with diet and suppliments via a nutritionist. But stopped acupunture 12 weeks ago due to problems getting there. Looks like I need to go back and get an energy balance done.

Ange good luck with scan on frid

This is for every one .........good luck to you all.
I am still trying to get to know you all please bear with me while i work out where everyone is in their tmt. Ta
