Hi Katie,

Sorry, I missed your message. Thanks for your support! It's morning again  I'll have to do my needle again  I think i've talked dh into doing it but he's chicken so now i'm even more chicken.
What if he gets shaky or something?

I wish I had that self injecting pin some of the ladies are talking about. Mine is a LONG needle that I have to watch go in. Then on top of that horror I have to put it in my stomach, but I guess all you ladies know this routine. Sorry to be the over 40 wimp here. I need to go read your post again Katie and get some courage up.

I'm off on a day course today so i'll let you know how I went when I came back.

Have a great day everyone :D

Hugs

Debbie,
I'm just sooo excited for you. I bet soon we'll be comparing notes on our growing twins!!!! 7 more days til we see heartbeats on ultrasound. I can't wait to start telling everyone at my new job but they are NOT going to be happy. So it's still a secret until we know what's up for sure. I've had alot of stretching pains from all the adhesions and endo I have which I don't mind at all. After all they're truly growing pains. The nausea is much better now. Just have no appetite.

Katie,
I've been thinking about you lots and admire your strength so much. I just fell apart when we had our negative and with each pregnancy loss. I just can't imagine what will happen if we lose this one. I just can't think of it. When do you plan the transfer of your adopted embies?

Hey Everyone.
erjumper/Lisa...thank you for the words of encouragement. I also really related to the concerns you expressed. That's exactly how i feel. I think that's way it almost made i
easier to accect the neg. result because I know the pain of miscarriage and the fear of miscarring again. I must trust that my eggs may have not been healthy eggs and that's why they did not fertilize and implant.
BUT in your case two wonderful embryos did implant and all of us here on the board are praying, hoping and wishing for your safe delivery of your wonderful little babies. And I am super happy to hear about your bouts of nausea. I think that is a indication of a healthy pregnancy.

Paula... You can do it!!

Hello Randa...kind lovely words...thank you so much!

Debbie ....Happy to have another set of twins. It makes the struggle so worth it!!!! Hooray for you and DH.

I will do the embryo adoption either this cycle (just got AF) or next. The doctor will let me know on Monday.
The nurse said I must start Birth Control pills on Day 3. Has anyone else ever heard of that in prep. for an embryo transfer??????

Hi Katie,
While I haven't done an embryo transfer "YET" the day 3 birth control pill thing is part of my protocol each time. That's actually the start of my "downregging" to thin out the lining of the uterus and suppress ovulation (gee I hope I have that right?).
Others who have been through what you are doing should know better than I. I'm so glad you are getting on so quickly with your new plan! :D

I'm such an airhead sometimes, I had forgotten that Lisa was possibly pregnant with twins also!!! Do you know for sure yet? Please forgive me for this. I knew you were pregnant, but just didn't remember twins. How exciting!!!! TWO of our 40 + moms this round with twins!!! I LOVE it!

You ladies really give me hope!

Day 4 with no caffeine and another bad headache. This one didn't last as long so maybe I'm close to the end of my withdrawals! 8) Could also be a connection to starting the bc pills. :? Sometimes changes in hormone levels gives me a headache.

Have good friend in for the next few days from Phoenix, AZ, so I'll be out of touch. I'll be thinking about you all and ready to play again on Monday! Have a great weekend my IVF friends!

Hello All,
Things are just begining to sink in with me now. DH finally believes that he is going to be a daddy.
I've still got no symtoms of anything - no sickness so lets hope it stays that way.
I'm going back to work on Wednesday so I've still got a couple of days to sort my head out. I have a busy stressful job so need a clear head!!!
Not going to mention things to my new emplyer until closer to the time I start (I have to give 3 months notice in my current job so I've got some time). Not looking forward to telling my new boss, although I know there is nothing they can do about it.
Still, keep looking at the +ive hpt as it's the only concrete thing I've got to confirm the +ive result.

I'll keep visiting here to see how you are all doing and keeping my fingers crossed that you all get what you want.

Take care all

Love

Katie, do you know yet when you can go again? There are 3-4 of us from this thread trying in Sept (Randa, Sharon, Paula and I) and October promises to be a bumper month too, either way you'll have great company!

I feel a bit in limbo this week. Just waiting for the scan on Friday and hopefully the go-ahead for downregging from Sunday. Sharon, you'll start before then won't you?

Welcome Paula. I hope the jabs are going well. I must say I'm hugely relieved to sniff my downregging and only have an auto-pen injector to deal with. Having said that, I cried before my first shot too, I didn't know what to expect so had huge sympathy with your post re. shots.

Lastly...........WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO, let's hear it for BigJ who is about to plunge back in to unknown waters....great to see you back Julie.

Hi to everyone else. How are you???

hugs
Debra.

Morning DebraP,

Thanks for the welcome :D and thanks for making me feel better about the shots. It's nice to know i'm not the only one.

Shots are still going very rough. DH did my shot "subcutaniously" yesterday. Big bubble formed under my skin, then liquid and blood poured out  I phoned the hospital and they told me it would be ok. If I can't do the shots myself, or if my 15yr daughter can't do them i'll have to go to the hospital everyday.

Tina, good idea to ice the area first but I'm not sure if that would work with me, i'm just to much of a spaz

Debbie how are you feeling?

Rand, how are you? How are your headaches? Did you have a good weekend with your friends?

Katie, how are you? I don't know anything about embryo transfer. Do you have any idea roughly when you'll be going for it? Hope it's soon :)

erjumper, your having twins? Wow! That's so exciting!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Huggs

Hi girls,

Paula, I can sympathise and know exactly what you mean when you talk about those needles. With our first couple of treatments I, as probably a lot of the ladies here will know, had to use them. They are big, it has to be said. What I tended to do was inject into my tummy or bottom grasping a good chunk of flesh (plenty around those areas), and holding it firm and then injecting slowly. It's more controlled and, if you're gentle, you will reduce the amount of bruising. Fortunately, this last time I discovered times have moved on and our hospital are now using the pen which is absolutely fantastic.

Hi Debra - back from your weekend break - I laughed trying to imagine MIL's cakes for every day and you having to eat them all as not to offend!!!! I am afraid this time around I do not have as much willpower. I just feel a little of what you fancy isn't going to harm anyone. Yes, I started down regging this morning - did a silly thing, gave the syneral a few squirts just to get free up the spray as they suggest, and forgot to take the cap off, so I think I wasted a day's worth in the top! They do say there's enough for 60 applications but there's usually a little extra (just as well). So bring on the HOT FLUSHES AND NIGHT SWEATS - YIPPEE.

Hi to everyone else too.

Sharon - lol! I've done that too, quite a few times. Question. The packing info suggests a trial puff before every dose. Do you do that? I think I've become slack and if I think a dose didn't quite make it, I do it again. Not every time of course.... and I know what you mean about the extra. Puregon says it's 300ie but in fact there are 435ie in each phial. My clinic give me a cute little schedule on how to get 400 out of each. Just as well, given the cost.

Paula where in Sydney are you? I lived (LNS) and worked (CBD) there for a year and LOVED every darn minute.

hugs to everyone
Debra.

Debra,

With the Syneral spray it says before you use the bottle for the first time you have to prime the spray pump but this only needs to be done once before you take your first dose. Thereafter you just take the prescribed dose. Yes, you're right with the Puregon, there is at least 100 IU left in each cartridge. As we were private patients, for the purposes of saving money (which we are all keen to do) we kept each cartridge after we had used it, putting it back in the fridge and right at the end because we may have only needed 150IU for example, on our last night of Puregon injections, we didn't have to purchase another 300IU of Puregon but it meant having to have more than one injection if there was say 50 IU left in one cartridge and 100 IU in another but I was happy to do this if it meant saving money.

Morning Sharon, Your post made me  I did the exact same thing with my spray yesterday. To funny! I'm like huh? didn't feel anything  As for my needles well i've got an update. I sat there with the needle for 45 mins yesterday. Finally I drove to the clinic and got them to do it. Then this morning my daughters 15yr old friend came over and said she could do it. I was a little nervous but she seemed very confident so I agreed. Besides, I'm running late this morning so I thought what the heck. Well you know she did that needle for me and I didn't even feel it!!!  I was so happy! I was like, come on.. don't make me wait this long, come on, come on.. hahaha.. and she's like, its in, is there suppose to be more??? It's DONE!!! HUGE SIGH
She's coming back tomorrow now :D

Debra, i'm in Blacktown. Where are you? I'm actually a Canadian who's immigrated to Australia in the last year. I've been here 2 years but the first year I was in and out so I would say 1 year full time here. I'm still confused a bit on all the places. I'm still just getting the states down :)

Anyways, gotta run. Hope you all have a wonderful day!! Talk soon

Hi Ladies,

i feel really bad that i haven't been here for you all offering support as you do to others, but my head is all over the place and I don't know what to do.

I'm sorry for doing a me on you but you are the only only people that understand. Well as you know we weren't given a good follow-up in July and were told our chances were very slim. i had my fsh tested and it was 10.2 so slightly raised but it was going to be we will see how it goes in September. Anyway i was feeling really good this month bbt looked good and AF arrived I had another fsh test this time it has jumped up to 16 so don't have a lot of chance.

Spent an hour with a new Dr yesterday and we wnt through everything, she says I probably won't go through an early menopause but could stay like this for years. She thinks we should still go ahead in Sept with an fsh test on day 2 and if its high abandon otherwise give it go and cancel later if poor response.

We talked about counselling and donor eggs and adoption. i can't do donor in Yorkshire as there is a 3 year wait but she said she would do a satelite for the Lister as they have an extensive program plus just looked on their websitew and they have about 45% success rate.

At the moment I feel very lost and I suppose I am grieving because I know deep down that i will never be a birth mother and that is breaking my heart.

Sorry to go on about myself.

Take care everyone.

Love,

Jane
