Spotting at 5 weeks...

Post by cycy »

Hey guys...
I am 5 weeks preggie, and every morning and evening I insert wonderful blue estrogen suppositories. This morning, I inserted 2 o them, and saw that the usual bright blue discharge that usu. appears was darker. This happenend nine days post-embryo transfer. My nurse then said it may be some brown discharge due to my cervix being irritated. The discharge isn't enough to even see when I wipe. Should I be worried? Have any of you all had scant brown discharge at this stage of pregnancy?
Thanks...

Hi there

Usually if it is brown then it is absolutely nothing to worry about, but I would just give your hospital a quick call and get the proper medical reassurance.

I am sure it is just old dried blood that has been dislodged by the insertion of the pessary.

Take care

Well! I spoke to the nurse and she said this is quite normal because ofall the changes that are going on. Also, because I'm putting suppositories twice a day, I probably irritated my cervix. Whew! What a relief!!! :P

Cyra

That's fantastic news - it's so reassuring to hear it isn't it?

Take care of yourself.

NickiMark...
Well, I had scant brown discharge that lasted less than 24 hours nine-days post embryo transfer. Nurse said it was due to an irritated cervix. This morning, I saw greenish discharge on my finger after inserting the blue suppositories, which meant it was mixed with brown discharge. My nurse just called and said it's nothing to worry about. With the changes going on, my cervix is probably sensitive and irritated. Good news. My pantyliner is now back to bright blue discharge (sorry for beign graphic). My nurse said as long as it it dark brown discharge, it should be nothing to worry about. Hope this helps!!!
