Little P - Welcome to the 2nd tri, and I'm glad to hear about your scan, the 12 week scan is amazing.
Tyler - Glad your scan went OK. I too have decided to have the scan rather than an amnio. I know every baby is precious but I feel ours are that bit more special as we worked so hard to get them and we dont want to put them at any risk at all

Where are Mil and Minnow - I hope your OK, we've not heard from you in a while?

Smita -
K is right about the ligaments stretching. I had this same feeling and understand that it causes worry. Rest assured that if the pain has not lasted that it is more than likely this. I even phoned my doc at around 13 weeks and he confirmed this. See link below. Hope you are feeling better now.

Tyler - Glad to hear your scan went well. I am sure you were able to see a lot at 20 weeks. I am looking forward to it!

Hope everyone is doing well. I just had a rather large lunch and am feeling stuffed at the moment.

Smita I had those pains also and read they were ligament pain but when you are going through some sort of ache or pain you can convince yourself it must be something bad. I feel like I have had every pregnancy niggle going I have had to ring the midwife 3 times once when I had a spasm in my tummy that would not go away second time was severe headache which was making me vomit and then such severe indigestion I really thought I was having a heart attack a pain was shooting up my left arm and I could not lay down or stand up,but past 18 weeks I all of a sudden feel good.It has to be said I am ever so slightly vearing towards being a hypocodriac(not sure of spelling)but it makes me really cross when some friends say no they had no sickness or any aches or pains I feel like saying are you sure you were bloody pregnant at all just really blase.

Thank you all so much..
Dont know what I'd do without your support..
I went and bought "what to expect" last evening..
I've been busy reading it now..
Also, may go in for a scan on tuesday.. I'm getting worried abt the baby.. keep having nightmares.. so may as well get it checked..I havent put on any weight at all this week inspite of eating like a glutton so maybe thats why I'm more worried..
Sher, Thanks for the link.. looked into it and was reassured..
Tyler, must be a relief to have evrything looking good at the 20w scan, I hope everything is smooth from now on..
Kim, glad you're reassured now.. these worries really pull us apart right?
My mom says she was never worried..
anyway,
enjoy the day!!

Hi all,
i just want to know if anyone feels not-pregnant for a few days continuously in the second tri?
I suddenly feel like my bump isn't growing as much as it did in the 1st tri, though I'm eating the same..also feeling light instead of the heaviness i had..I know I'm a chronic worrier, but has ayone else felt the same? The last scan I had was 3 weeks back and my next scan is due in 2 weeks..
I read |"what to expect" and it says to go to the doc if I'm really worried,
I dont know if I shd.
Thanks all.
Lil P, How was lunch?
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Smita,
The 2nd tri is funny. I suddenly had all my energy back, no nausea (although I never had any to begin with), and would go a week or two staying around the same size (tummy). All I can say is that it was normal for me. If I didn't have a bump at all, then you would never know I was pregnant. Yet every doctors visit the baby was growing, her heart was beating, and I was progressing just fine. I did find that the baby seemed to grow in spurts during the 2nd tri. My pants would fit me fine for 2 weeks, then suddenly they didn't fit at all. Not sure how normal that is, but that's was definitely the way it worked the whole trimester.

The book is right though ... if you're ever super worried about something call the doctor. That's why they get paid the big bucks! They may just tell you to come in and simply listen for a heartbeat. #1 it's cheaper than an US, #2 it gives you the same piece of mind.

One final thought ... take advantage of the extra energy in the 2nd trimester. It all goes out the window in the 3rd that's for sure =) Enjoy all the fun changes to come, and best of luck to you on your scan in two weeks!

Kelly,
Thanks so much for your words..Really helps to know that certain aspects are shared.. like the bump growing in fits and starts!
I'm feeling ok now..not so worried, have decided to give it until the weekend and then go to the docs on Monday if the same feeling persists!
You're almost there..
Wishing you lots and lots of luck for a pain free labour! :D
thanks,

Morning all - (Afternoon Smita :D )

Lunch was great yesterday, my friend was so excited for us - it really is the most wonderful news to tell people isn't it?

We're off for the w/e so I won't be here, but I hope that you all have fun and enjoy the next few days.

Take care of yourselves.

Love and hugs

Smita -

I saw your message and could relate. I felt like this last week and seemed everything came to a screeching halt. Then, this week. out of no where, my belly started to grow again. It actually got quite big this week. DH noticed right away. There's no way of hiding this wonderful news anymore!!

I would suggest you give it a couple more days like you said and see what happens. You might be surprised. . .

Hi everyone

Hope you are all ok.
Like Susie, I was also wondering about Minnow and Mil. Hope you two are ok?
I thought once the 2nd trimester was here, we would worry less! It doesnt stop does it? I just cant get excited about my scan next week. DH is. I think if Id had a scan since 8.5 weeks I would feel better, but it seems so long ago now. I was wishing for more scans back then, now Id happily carry on until 40 weeks without one! At least the nausea is back (How weird am I. It just feels normal now!).
Sher-My friend who's baby is approx 20 wks old now, said she also got growth spurts. I think mine is more steady(at the moment anyway!).

Busy DIY weekend ahead. Well, DH has! He's painting the kitchen. I love painting but decided breathing those paint fumes in isnt a good idea. Im on a roll at the moment as far as sorting things out. I suddenly want everything sorted. All those little jobs that build up and never get done.

Have a good weekend everyone. Enjoy your weekend away Little P. Hope its good weather for you.

Hi Kim,

I believe you will love the 20 week scan as you will be able to see so much more. If it's the scan that looks at all the organs and developement you will be amazed. We were nervous about it but walked away from it quite happy and relieved. We have another one on Sept 15th since the Perinatolgist couldn't see the baby's face well due to position it was in.

Ladies - I was nervous that my tummy is showing but slowly growing and I haven't gained weight. We had our 26 week checkup this week and my uterus is measuring fine. My OB believes the baby is growing fine and is approx 2 pounds right now but fears the baby is depleting nurtients my own body needs. I need more calories. She advised every woman carries differently and the size of the tummy is going to vary as well. It's key if you can feel the baby move. I started feeling it at around 20 weeks and definitely more now. It's a very reassuring feeling.

Take Care Ladies!
