Pre-stim scan/womb lining

Hi everyone, Went for pre-stim scan yesterday after 3 1/2 weeks of buserelin injections, and although my ovaries are now inactive, my womb lining was still thick (12mm). Last time my lining had thinned down to 4-5mm by this time. I now have to double my dose of buserelin to 100 units and go back next Friday for repeat scan. Just wondered if any of you have had the same problem and how long it took you to thin down???? Take care & good luck to you all. Luv Rachel X

Hi Rachel I have had this problem almost everytime (about to start 6th attempt at ICSI) I don't think it makes any difference and one nurse even told me that you stand a better chance if you take longer to down reg. Best of luck Lucy

Hi Rachel I had the same problem and was told that each cycle is different, you may down-reg no problems one time and the next cycle can be totally different. I was down-regging for 9 weeks in the end and levels only dropped after they doubled my buserelin dose so it's good that they've done that for you so early on. I found that if i injected in my tummy , down near where your appendix is/was then it seemed to have more impact than if I injected in my leg. Give it a good rub after you've injected as well to help it into the system quicker - just another tip I was given. The good news is that the length of down-regging has no negative impact on the rest of the cycle. Keep-up the stabbing and Good Luck Terri xxxxx

Thanks Lucy & Terri for your replies - nice to know it's not just me! I am injecting my tummy and I'll make sure I give it a good rub after now Terri - cheers! Hopefully I'll be nice and thin by Friday (I wish!). Take care, Luv Rachel X
