Hi Girls,

Well I'm back, and i'm still in shock. I phoned the nurse again yesterday and talked to her and she said they don't I'm responding and it was my estrogen level that should be between 400-3000 at this stage. So basically with a level of 70 I would have nothing happening.

Then my ultra sound this morning. The nurse is looking at my rt ov and says, "OH" i'm surprised, i'm like WHAT??? and she says, well I don't know? They could be cysts, or follicles, I had 2 one measured 25x25 and the other was 20x17. Then she goes to my right side and says, "well you've certainly baffled me, this isn't what I was expecting at all"

I had 7 follicles on the lft side! They're small, only 10 but they are there! and so they don't want to stop tmt. They've got me going for another week. They want to try and concentrate on the lft side and they want to see if they can make them grow. I have another ultrasound next wed to see. I'm a bit nervous, a bit excited and a bit, I'm not sure  Part of me doesn't want to get to excited because in the back of my mind they're just experimenting with me right now to see what to do for the next time. Part of me thinks this is a miracle..... Either way, it's all very confusing, you know?

Thank you everyone for all your prayers and thoughts, it really means alot :)

Sorry I don't have time to respond to you all right now, but I need to leave a couple msg's then i'm off to work. Have a great day everyone!

Hi Sept-embies
Well I am in shock too - the hosptial have just called me and they are going to put me on the short protocol, I should be starting my drugs sometime next weekend!.....Girls can you please tell me the difference between the long and the short because when I was at the hosptial yesterday the long protocol sounded more positive but I am sure they know what they are doing!....... so it looks like I will be joining you girls and I am wishing all the sept-embies the best of luck, PMA is the way forward.

Hi Kyla. The difference is that with the short protocol both processes happen at the same time - downregging AND stimming. Takes half the time usually. I've always done long protocols which take closer to 6 weeks (if Day 1 is AF, Day 21 start downregging then Day 44 is usually EC for me).

Paula, I posted this elsewhere, but great news!

Hi Judy. I'll start sniffing on Sunday so you'll be just a few days ahead of me. I'm expecting EC c. 26/27 Sept. I think I've seen that reflexology should be avoided after ET, but if your therapist has good experience of treating fertility patients, I'm sure they know what they're doing. I've not started acu and suspect it's too late now but am still tempted just for the relaxation side.

Hi to everyone else.
hugs
Debra.

Hi Sept-embies,

Lisa - I am afraid I do not take Lupron so cannot help you, but I hope the hot flushes are not too bad. I have heard that most down-regging drugs cause a type of meno-pausal state hence the hot flushes and mood swings!

I just thought I would post to bring us up the list again. We have let family and close friends know that we are about to start IVF. Their response was poor DH having to inject me and put up with my mood swings!!! Poor DH!! He is lapping it up but no-one was sympathising with me!! They just say that I am a coper and so will just get on with it but it would have been nice for a bit of tlc.

Oh well, this is why I use these posts to chat about it all. DH says he doesn't need to but that is because he just mentions mood swings (which I haven't even had yet!!) and everyone laughs at me!!!

Just had to get that off my chest. Hope you are all having good relaxing weekends, it is finally sunny here after all that rain! I am going to go out and enjoy it now :)

Catch up soon,

Hi LisaMarie,
Yes, I have had bleeding while taking Lupron and my clinic said the same thing, nothing to worry about. I also had hot flashes and menopausal symptoms, but I take Lupron for only two days by itself before I add my stimmulation drugs, so I couldn't really tell which drug was causing what.

My protocol-
*Day 3 of af begin birth control pills, take for at least 21 days (sometimes as long as 8 weeks, depending on clinic schedule)
*After these weeks, suppression check and stop bc pills.
*Two days of no meds
*Two days Lupron only
*Add stimms (Follistim and Repronex), keep taking Lupron for 10 days more.
*During 10 days, have blood work and u/s on days 5 and 8.
*Stop drugs, take HCG shot.
*35 hours later, have EC.

You didn't ask all that, but it helped me to go through it all. I wonder if anyone else has a protocol close to mine? I always feel like I'm doing something different than everyone else. Even the ladies in my "older" age group.

AJ - sorry to hear that your family's reaction was to focus on only half of the two people involved :( That's wierd. I mean, it's great that they didn't ignore him, which is probably the more common reaction, but IGNORE YOU! :? Totally odd!

I love the name Septembies!!!! Maybe Oct ladies can be the Octovaries? Just kidding - that's not good at all. We can come up with something better. I'M JUST KIDDING! REALLY! :D

Hi Sept-embies,

I am having a sad day today :(

I have just found out my SIL is pg again. This is baby no.2 and I have been ttc since before baby no.1 was even a twinkle in her eye. It wouldn't be so bad except she HATED being pg last time and complained the whole time, refering to the baby as IT!! When she finally gave birth she didn't like motherhood or her ds for weeks and even now she is not at all maternal and does not really like being a mother (she admits it). To find out she, of all people, is pg has been like a body blow to me. I can't stop crying and I haven't even started down-regging yet!

I am happy for my brother and even happy for my SIL but it is soooo unfair :( :( :( . To make it even worse she is 11years older than me! I'm meant to be the fertile one!

Sorry, had to off load. My family are all so happy for her that I ahve had to bottle it up in front of them and i needed to release.

Thanks for reading my self-pity. I will be back to my usual chirpy self tomorrow.

AJ, that's what we're here for. Because we DO understand, because it DOESN'T seem fair and because hitting walls at family get togethers isn't the done thing.

What they do has no impact on your forthcoming tmt, it doesn't sound like an ideal situation but luckily that's their business. You on the otherhand are getting ready to start tmt to get pg. You've seen enough people on here float happily off to the other pg side, so will you one day. It will be your turn to grin wildly.

The feeling will pass and you've only got 4 days before kick-off! We'll be here for you.
hugs
Debra.

Welcome Loopy Lou and Nes! Plenty of room. Come on in and feel free to dump your worries right here where you'll be in trusty hands and good graces always! :D

Nes, sounds like you and I are the same - Sept/Oct.

AJ, that's ROUGH girlfriend! She's 39 AND falls pregnant unwanting and easily? Well, maybe you could look at it this way. If your brother has the genetics to get an older woman pregnant so easily... perhaps some of that high-octane fertility ended up in your veins as well and you really have more going for you than you thought. :o It's not THAT crazy! Come on people, work with me here!

AJ, truly I feel for you. Life is worse than not fair sometimes. Sometimes it's unfair AND rubs your face in it! As Debra says, you're day will come. And you'll know joys that will make you feel sorry for your SIL.

HELLO LADIES,

I AM ALMOST AFRAID TO SAY THAT THE SHOTS ARE DOING GOOD AND I FEEL NO SIDE EFFECTS ANYMORE.. .
YESTERDAY I DROVE TO NEW JERSEY FROM NEW YORK ABOUT AN HOUR TO VISIT A SHRINE. I DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE IS RELIGIOUS HERE BUT I WILL GO ON. THE PATRON SAINT OF MOTHERHOOD IN THE CATHOLIC RELIGION IS ST. GERARD. IT HAS BEEN TOLD THAT WOMAN FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD VISIT THIS SHRINE AND TOUCHED IT AND BECAME PREGNANT. SOUNDS SILLY? RIGHT WELL I WENT YESTERDAY BY MYSELF, VISITED, GOT A STATUE, A HANKERCHIEF AND A BLESSING. FEEL GREAT TODAY. NEED SOME HOPE WITH ALL THIS GOING ON. THE PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL AND SAW A WOMAN WITH HER TWINS (BOY/GIRL) UP AT THE ALTER. LOTS OF BABY PICTURES HANGING UP WITH LETTERS FROM ALL OVER. IT WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. I GUESS WE ALL HAVE OUR WAYS OF DEALING WITH THIS.
IF ANYONE WANTS MORE INFO. GO TO WWW.STGERARDSHRINE.COM
