Hi evreyone,

May I jump in. I'm already 13 weeks, but I'm not happy at all now because I feel so sad about my babies.  Two of the triplets are not ok and will not live much longer.

My case is so complicated. Besides a heavy bleeding in 11th week, two of the triplets have been diagnosed having defects, which are fatal. In order to save the only healthy baby, all doctors involved have urged me to go for a reduction procedure as early as possible. I'm still strugling with the result, just couldn't believe that I'm the 1% who has a defect fetus.

I don't want to describe the reduction procedure in any detail, the last chance I have is to save the healthy one. It seems I have no other choice, even it risks the entire pregnancy. I feel so guilty of what will happen to my babies. But what can I do?

For over 35 year old moms, any of you have or had the same situiation? It most happens to the older women. I blame my age, blame any factors I can think of might contribute the result. I don't know why I have to go through all the pains and miscarrage or termination in order to have only one baby. What if things go wrong and I lose all of them. Will that happen to me. If I'm already the 1%, can I be the 0.1% of the 1%?

I don't want to spread negative thoughts to you all; I case is rare. I should be grateful for what I can get--a healthy, full term baby. I keep the highest hope for the outcome.

My procedure is on this Thursday. I pray for my babies, and I need your prayers too, a lot. Thank you all.

Jamato - Welcome to the 2nd tri, this is just the next stage of the 9 month worrying process!

HM - Sorry to hear about 2 of your babies, I cant begin to imagine how you feel but just make sure you concentrate on the healthy one.

Smita - dont worry about your scan everything will be fine, and soon you will be feeling your baby kick. Its very reassuring, but I must say if I havent felt mine move all day I have a Mars Bar as this makes it move. It was an old wives tale but it certainly works!

K - Only 3 more sleeps til your scan, please dont worry about it, all will be OK

Little P - Its lovely isnt it being able to wear maternity clothes and stroke your bump, my only problem is sometimes I sense I'm trying to push my stomach out further so more people will notice I'm pg, I guess I'm a bit sad really

My scan is on Thursday at 3.30pm. I am working on Thursday and leaving at 3 for my appointment, so I dont know how I am gonna get thru Thursday. I am now counting in hours til my scan. Bubs is moving alot and I'm getting rather attatched now so I pray that all will be OK. I just cant wait to tell my DD shes gonna get a bro or sis on Thursday night, but I'll be so happy I think I'll cry when I do it.

Jamato - Welcome my friend! This is a great message board. Very nice and caring ladies.

HM - God bless you and your babies. Thoughts and prayers are being said for you for a successful outcome.

Smita - Best of luck with the ultrasound. You will be pleased to see the beautiful little one you carry. I do get the sciatic pains down my backside and down the legs and sometimes the pulling of the uterus depending on my movements. I have my next Level 2 ultrasound on Sept 15th which we can't wait for. Starting childbirth classes that week as well. Time is flying.

Little P - Isn't it such a nice feeling to see the bump and rub it a lot? It's even greater when the baby is moving and you try to feel where it is moving with your hand.

Sher8 - I have found some people distance themselves from pregnant women. Sometimes it is friends that may be struggling as we did. Others may not understand why we want children so much. Cherish yourself and your baby.

Take care ladies!

Thank you all for your prayers.

Smita,
that's lot of water, but you need to drink for your baby. My doctor told me to drink 6-8 cups of water daily, much less than 5 litres. I drank a lot for a few days, then got tired with that much of water. If you can't eat much, drinking water can make you feel better sometimes. You and your baby will be fine.

Little P,
I'm glad things go well with you and your baby. Enjoy your bump in your new maternity clothes. I only have a couple of skirts, I need to buy pants. Don't know if those pants can fit for the fall and winter. We have the same due date, so do you eat a lot now? I still have morning sickness since the 7th week. Now I'm getting better and can eat some meals, but not a lot. Glad we've entered the 2nd trimester. Wish things will go smooth from here.

Sher,
Hope your pain will go away soon. I had pain on the lower right side when I sleep on my back in the first trimester. I figured that might because all my triplets are settled on the right side of my uterus. After two weeks, the pain's gone. Now I can sleep on my back again. But my doctor said I'd better sleep on my left side.

Everyone,
Thank you again for your prayers. I'll go tomorrow for the procedure. Hope my pregnancy will become normal after this. I'll post when I get back home.

Best,
HM

My appetite is full on now - I used to be a terrible eater, now I just can't stop

I've had a bump since about 7 weeks, but now there is absolutely no chance of squeezing into anything other than maternity trousers. This is one of those moments I have waited for for a long time and I can't say how much I love it.

Esther

Good to see you back - hope you are feeling ok and enjoying this time.

Big hugs to all
