Paula, I've posted on the Aussie thread, so sorry. Looking forward to seeing you back and ready to go in your own good time.

Dizzie. The weight thing crops up on here from time to time. I saw a news item on BBC. com health page saying that women need a BMI of 30 or less to qualify for funded treatment there. I read on here of someone who called a prospective clinic, told them her weight (she figured it might be a prob) and they said at her height of 5'1", they wanted her weight to be no more than 12 stone. It seems that some clinics are tougher than others. The only other point about weight on this board is that we often complain of weight gain (7-14lbs isn't uncommon) during tmt, so perhaps the clinics factor this in and worry that someone overweight to begin with might end up even more so by the time they get to ET? Could you join Weight Watchers for a month? they're supposed to offer good, safe weight loss vs. anything dramatic that might drain your health. Good luck. There's also Healthy Bodies/Healthy Minds thread on here. We've just completed a group detox which is recommened by Zita West prior to tmt, but it doesn't reduce your weight.

Hi everyone, glad to hear there have been some good scans going on.

Hi, everyone :) Just got back from my first acu session and she recommended some things I had never heard before. She specializes in infertility and has a lot of success. Wanted to share her recommendations with you.

She told me to eat more warm/cooked foods in order to keep the body warm kind of like "making the body into an incubator." For instance, I eat a lot of salads and fruit. She told me to continue eating the fruits and veges, but to eat them cooked instead of cold and raw. She also recommended that I eat more red meat (rich and nourishing), eat eggs for breakfast (warm and nourishing), eat kidney beans and toasted walnuts, and if I am going to eat a salad, use a ginger dressing as it has "natural warming properties."

Can't hurt, right?!

Good morning ladies,

That was a short couple of days wasn't it? Well i'm feeling better this morning. Even surprised myself. I've decided to not give up and I'm going to fight this. I want a baby so bad. My body might not be cooperating right now but hopefully my mind can talk it into it

I'm trying to get ahold of the clinic to see where to go from here. I've decided to try this one more time. I can't think ahead of one more time so that's what i'm telling myself at the moment.

I'll be sticking around this month to cheer you all on. Huggs and best wishes to all of you.

Hi Septembies! Well I feel like AF will be arriving a couple of days early...small cramps and heavy feeling  ..I always have mixed emotions when AF arrives before IVF cycle...want to start the cycle but also hoping AF doesn't show up. Depending on O and actual arrival of AF, then could start sniffing earlier :D .

brs888 - the warm foods have to do with the chinese theory of ying and yang...the chinese believe in opposites..pretty complicated...but my acu also gave me the same recommendation...also not to drink anything cold or eat icecream or cold food. If I have a salad, then I make home made salad dressing ...warmed olive oil, garlic, chili peppers, fresh herbs...this way the salad is actually warm. All my food I take out of the refridgerator for about 20 minutes to warm...I figure whatever helps :D no matter how crazy :D

Thanks for the insight, Traci :)

Second scan this morning...everything looks good so far. I have about 14 follies that are looking good.

It's been really quiet around here...is there a big party I don't know about

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is well and being positive.

Just thought I'd let you all know how I got on yesterday with my egg collection. They retrieved 18 eggs - i was stunned. However, the hosipital kept me on a drip for a couple of hours - they are concerned at the high number of eggs i have produced. Apparently, I am at a higher risk of contracting OHSS.

I feel fine in myself - a bit bruised inside but no obvious symptoms of OHSS.

The hospital phone this morning and 9 of my eggs have fertilised. I am going back to hospital tomorrow for ET.

I cant believe everything is going so well. I just hope my luck continues!!!

I'll keep you all posted.

TIlly

Tilly, 9 is great well done. Good luck with ET tomorrow. I'm sure the clinic told you to drink 2litre of water (+ maybe milk?) to help reduce the OHSS? get plenty of rest too :)

brs888, she obviously knows what works well for her clients and Zita West also recommends warm foods but I was a bit surprised at the red meat suggestion.
