Hi Jessica - Sorry the spotting is making you nervous. My doctor says it's ok as long as not heavy and dark or bright red. Voice your concerns asap to ease your mind a bit. You are making great progress! As far as the Group B Strep test - it is done sometimes at your first prenatal visit and mostly at the 35 - 37 week stage as well.

Well ladies - it's so nice to hear the good news of baby boys and girls and all the support you give one another who are having a harder time. We will ALL go on to have beautiful, healthy babies in the end. I will be moving on to the 3rd trimester thread soon as I am now 27 weeks. I have a scan on Sept 15th which will be 10 weeks after my last and we are excited to see the baby's growth! I'm officialy 3 months away from my due date and cannot believe how quickly time has passed.

I wish you all the very best! Take Care!

Love,
Christine

Hi everyone.
HM, hope you're ok..
Christine, almost there- wow- though where you are seems a loooong way off from where I am now!!Just want to get there sooon.
Jessica,
Just speak to your doctor about the spotting- I spotted daily from day of BFP until my 14th week- so all I can say is, dont worry too much.I hope it sorts itself out.keep us posted.
Kim, excellent news on having a girl :D
In india they dont reveal the sex of the baby, so like sher, i'll have to wait till the end, unless i can catch some glimpses on scan!
Susie,
the image of baby sucking its thumb sounds so beautiful!
Sher, glad you're feeling better.
Little P, how are you today?
Its 14 days until dh is here.. but all I can think of is he'll be off in 7 days.. one precious week- hope I make the most of it and dont cry all the time!
Minnow, hope everything settles down for you soon!
Take care all,
Have a lovely weekend!

Hi everyone

AJ - Thanks for the website/info on GBS. Its good to keep ourselves well informed and having been through it, you are the best person to tell us!
Good luck with your future treatment.

Jessica - You arent been paranoid. If you read back on my posts Ive spent the last few days worrying for no reason! Our babies are so precious to us after all we have been through, we wouldnt be human if we didnt worry. I hope your scan gives you some reassurance on wednesday and I think its definitely worth discussing your fears re incompetant cervix with the doctor, if only for them to put your mind at rest. All the best!

Sher - I also seem to have pains on and off that seem awful at the time, then completely go. At the moment though, my lower back and right hip cause me more problems at night. Ive decided I need to start doing regular yoga and going to Aquanatal for pregnancy, otherwise my body will be in an awful state as I get bigger. I used to do yoga all the time, but gave it up just before IVF.

Minnow - Great to hear from you! Our due date is the same (17th Jan). I still have nausea everyday and its worse than the 1st trimester! Definite morning sickness now. Its weird! Dont worry about the movements.(says she!) Two of my friends didnt feel anything until 20 and 23 weeks.
Good luck with the move. I can imagine you are anxious to be settled. Hope it all goes smoothly for you. Are you going to find out your baby's sex at your scan? Look after yourself.

Susie - Me and DH couldnt agree on names at first, but have come to an agreement now I think! I was convinced I was having a girl (also due to what a clairvoyant told an acquaintance of mine as well as instinct) so like you I would have been shocked if it was a boy! My accupuncturist is coming round on wednesday. She doesnt want to know the baby's sex, she wants to find out herself through checking my pulse! Should be interesting! I know exactly what you mean about worrying through the scan. I was watching her face to see if she looked worried at all during it! Cant tell you the relief I now feel. It all feels so much more real!

Little P - It is such a difference to my last scan. It was so small then at 8.5 weeks. Couldnt believe how big it now is! DH sat there with a huge grin on his face. He was so chuffed.

Christine - Nearly 3rd trimester! Time is flying isnt it? Have you bought any baby/nursery items yet? I spent all last night looking through catalogues and have written down in a notebook all that I want to buy! Cant wait to start shopping! All the best for your next scan!

Smita - Although im pleased I know its a girl, I was a little torn because a surprise would have been lovely as well. I think because I was so convinced it was a girl, I felt I had to know, so if it was a boy I could get to know him, if you know what I mean! my brother's fiancee was out shopping yesterday when I rang her and my brother says she has already bought some pink clothes for the baby! It will be a shock now if it turns out to be a boy! I do feel for you with DH away and know what you mean about thinking he will be going again soon after. Just think though. While our DH's see us all the time and dont necessarily see our bump growing, your DH will be able to see a difference and that will be wonderful. Each time he comes back he will look forward to how much more your baby has grown. Take care.

HM - Thinking of you and hoping all is ok.

Have a good weekend everyone

Kim,
Thank you for making me see the brighter side of the situation- I've been rubbing my tummy and talking to the part od dh I have within me- like P said and it helps..It also helps that theres 2 weeks only now until i See him.
Have fun nursery shopping.
My instincts tell me I'll have a boy, lets see if I'm right!!
long wait though!also like you, a clairvoyant told mymom(even before I got married) that I'll struggle to have a baby but will have a boy eventually!Funny how these things come back to you later!

Christine, SMita and K,

Thanks all for your kind suggestions!! I called the dr. when it first started and they said as long as it wasn't bright red then it is normal....I even called to verify the miriad of colors (pink, mauve and brown are all ok!) --> I know TMI...I did call the dr. to ask about incompetant cervix since I had laser surgery at 19 for stage 1 displasia and it is something we will defenitely talk about at 14 weeks...

Hie Girls

Its nice to catch up with everyone again, iam so jealous i cant chat whenever i feel like because of my demanding job and the need to rest after work. So I can manage weekends only.

I feel like iam missing out on a lot of things, and at some stages get so worried after reading some posts, e.g I havent felt any stretching or ligaments pains like most of the girls here and also i havent felt my baby moving or any flatterings yet. Should I be worried by that.

Susie - A boy wow, I could be in your shoes and never want to step down.

K- you are having a girl, great news, enjoy.

LittleP - I bet you cant wait for the holiday. Enjoy your day out at the hotel with DH. Your DH is such a romantic- enjoy every moment.

Sher8- How are you today. hope you are doing well.

Smita- How are doing with 5litres a day. Enjoy your precious 7days when DH comes.

Jamato - how is your spotting now, I know your worries as i went thru it as well. Follow your Doc's advice and remember lots of rest.

Jessica- Goodluck with your scan next week, mine is on Tuesday and I cant wait.

Minnow - how are you.

Christine- enjoy your 3rd trimester.

Hope I havent left anyone out. Iam doing very well though I havent gained any weight yet, That worries me a bit. I pray i have peace of mind after my scan on Tuesday.

Esther

It's good to hear from you. From my own experience I know your doctor will tell you if there is a concern with no weight gain. I had my 18 week Level 2 scan where they look for birth defects and such and I actually got my baby's weight size as 8oz which was right for the timeframe. I was worried that I haven't gained weight at all. I actually lost a few pounds at the beginning and have not gained anything back. I didn't have morning sickness either. I mentioned this to my DR each monthly visit and she was not concerned until my last visit at 26 weeks. She said the baby is fine and getting all the nutrients it needed but I need more calories to keep myself healthy. She doesn't want the baby to deplete my body of the nutrients I need. Also, I did not feel any movement until 20 weeks which is about the time my doctor said is common. Of course at 27 weeks now I feel a lot of movement most every day. It's an amazing feeling I'm sure you will enjoy when the time comes. Good luck with your scan. I'm sure you will be thrilled! Take Care!

HI all!
Esther,
According to the book I have, we dont feel movements until 18-20 weeks unless this is the second baby, or we are slender when we can start feeling it earlier.
I haven't felt any movements either- though I keep wondering if I'll knwo the movement when they're there!
LilP, enjoy your second wedding night!! :D You can recollect those lovely memories..
Can I ask how long you've been married?

The 5 litres is not so tough anymore- except when it rains here- then I have to force myself to drink..funnily, my thirst increases only by evening, when I'm supposed to taper it off, so aa to have a peaceful night , but not!
Have a lovely Sunday all!
Cheers,
smita

Thanks for putting my mind to rest. I was really worried especially about not gaining any weight at all. Like you I lost quite a bit in my first 2 months and I havent gained it back. Also I didnt have morning sickness. But with your words iam settled today. I cant weight for that magical moment when the baby starts to move. How are you doing today hope you have enjoyed your weekend.

Way to go Little P! You don't want that to ever go away - even with baby.

Esther.
Around Week 15 I felt little growth and then blammo. . .it was if eveything just popped overnight. Not to say this will exactly happen to you, since we are all different, but I would not worry much.

Christine,
Best of luck in the 3rd trimester. You are almost there!!

I am feeling much better. Thanks for all your kind thoughts.

I'm glad you're coping with the water - mind you I should think you spend more time walking to and from the bathroom now, what a pain for you!!!

How is everyone else?

I've got a stinker of a cold coming - it started as a sore throat and now the rest of the symptoms are coming through. I never get colds usually - has anyone else had this happen?

Anyway take care all of you
