Playing the waiting game

Post by Cla »

Hi there! first round of IVF for us - had the transfer on Fri 26th Aug. The whole process throughout has been relatively smooth with no major probs. Got 9 eggs from collection and managed to fertilise all 9! Put 2 grade 1s back so was feeling rather elated and positive. However started bleeding this am which has pulled us back down to earth. Don't have our test until this friday. Realistically guys - is this a sign that it hasn't worked. Reading all our paperwork it says not to panic if you start bleeding as it doesn't necessarily mean a -ve but in reality?!!! Are we kidding ourselves?

Hi Cla,

Welcome. Sorry to hear that you are so worried.
Like you I am new to this but from what I have read on all the boards a litle bit of bleeding does not mean it is all over. It could be an implantation bleed or just one of those things. Just hang in there, I can understand the need to be realistic but don't give up yet! I am sure a lot of the other ladies will be able to help you out more.

There is a september 2ww thread over on the general forum which may be of some help to you.

Good luck and fingers crossed,

AJ

Hi there,

You're asking a tough question but implantation bleeding is usually relatively light, almost spotting, whereas if it's AF it will get heavier. I've had 3 +ve results and never had implantation bleeding but going on what I've read, there's a difference between the types of bleeding that should become more obvious as time goes on.

I wish you luck for Friday.
Debra.

Welcome

Keeping everything crossed that things turn our alright for you.

If you feel up to it - come and join the other girls on the General Forum who are going through the 2ww at the same time. There is a thread called September 2ww where they share their daily experiences, it might help boost your PMA.

Big hugs

Little P

Hi there Cla

Sorry to hear you'e had a bleed. I haven't caught up with the boards since weekend, so haven't seen your update. I hope it's held off for you, and we see your big happy smiley face tomorrow.

Lots of luck ('cos I think that's what it is ..)
