Bleeding with egg retrieval

I have a blood disorder which doesn't allow my body to stop bleeding very easily. I was wondering how much bleeding others have experienced after the egg retrieval process? Any information would be helpful!

I've not had any real bleeding with my 3 retrievals. Perhaps a little pinkish discharge on the day but the needle is very fine. I've only ever had 10 follicles to access though, it might be different for people with considerably more.

Hi there,

I had a little bit of bleeding as the doctor said occasionally they may perforate a blood vessel during the egg collection procedure. I didnt see any of the blood as it was internal, I just had a bit of swelling from it. They told me this is very UNCOMMON. I have been reading alot on this forum and have only seen 1 or 2 cases where people have had bleeding. Given they are aware of your situation with your blood you would think they would be extra careful. Dont let it put you off as it is unexpected in EC from what I hear!! Hope my post doesnt make you feel worse!.... just letting you know it CAN happen but probably WONT. GOOD LUCK for your treatment... x
