Hi everyone

Hope everyone is doing ok. I now find on a morning as long as I eat breakfast as soon as I get up I can usually fend off been sick! Is anyone else struggling with sleeping? I never had problems before I was pregnant. During the day Im fine, but on a night I actually start to dread going to bed! If I lie on my back, sometimes I can hardly move, my lower back (my sacrum) is so painful. I also got heartburn on sunday night. Never had that before, it was awful! Anyway, I guess its all worth it for my bump! DH is always making comments on how big it looks! (The one time we want to look bigger, so its great!).

Little P - Hope your cold isnt too bad. I stopped having colds when I became an aromatherapist, presume due to using the oils a lot! I did get a cold very early on in pregnancy (when I obviously wasnt using oils!) and it was awful. I had to be off work because I was so wiped out. I believe our immune systems are lower when pregnant (which is apparently why we are more prone to picking up certain bacteria from certain foodstuffs) so that might be why you've come down with one.
Look after yourself.

Esther - I believe you had a scan yesterday. Hope all is ok. Looking forward to hearing your news.

Jessica - Good luck with your scan today. Hope they can put your mind at rest re some of your worries.

HM - Hope you are ok?
Mil - where are you??

Im going to see the midwife this am for my 21 week antenatal check. Time is flying! Hope everyone else are enjoying their bumps!
Take care
Love Kim

Hi Ladies

Kim that would explain it - the immune system thing. Thanks for that. I'm sure it will pass as quickly as it came. I just get worried about shaking Little One too much when I sneeze

Good luck with the ante-natal appointment.

Hope everyone is ok and getting alone fine.

Love

Little P

Have a wonderful time tomorrow - remember to take a hankie with you, it's very emotional actually hearing the heartbeat :D

Still got a stinker of a cold - feeling all stuffy and my throat is very sore, I'm going to find out what I'm allowed to take later on.

Hope you are all feeling ok.

That's a well thought out plan - it really helps to keep everyone in mind as well.

My cold is now very much "out" so hopefully that means it should now start clearing up. I've seen the pharmacist and she suggested a couple of paracetamol before I go to sleep and throat lozenges (like Tunes or Soothers) which are harmless to the baby but good for the throat.

I think sleep and rest will be good remedies as well so will try and have a couple of hours this afternoon.

Only a week to go - you must be over-the-moon, what a special Friday next week will be ... hope next week flies by for you.

Big hugs to everyone

HI all!

Sorry I was laying low til yesterdays ultrasound and wouldn't you know it was awesome!! I watched baby aerobics for about 5 minutes and then a nap! It was quite adorable....Unfortunately the picture I got was not real clear....since I have a bladder infection I could not hold a full bladder so we did the best we could!!! 14 week follow up next week and 15 weeks we will have the AFP blood test

Hi everyone!

What a good idea to put the roster of us up so that we can all keep track of each other.

Kim- I was also wondering where Mil is. I know she works down here at the medical center in Houston and we have been swamped with people from New Orleans. I had to wait 2.5 hours at my last appointment, as my OB was delivering New Orleans babies. I am sorry you are still so nauseated. The doc put me on antibiotics which made me sick and I cried just being reminded of how awful I had felt for 4 months. Maybe yours will let up soon? Also, YES! I have been having trouble sleeping. By the time these babies come I may be too tired to go to the hospital.

By the way, is anyone having severe hip pain when they sleep?

Whoops- DH just brought me a pile of tasks, so I will have to jump on later.

Julie - I had the bad hip pain last time I was pg. Its called SPD where basically, in every pregnancy the pelvis starts to separate ready to accomodate the body ready for when you give birth, but if you get SPD the pelvis splits sooner and further, unfortuneately there is no treatment, but it usually clears up after pregnancy. Mention it to your midwife and they may have some exercises to help.
Jamato - Glad your scan was good
Smita - good luck for tomorrow.
Carlac - You are free to post here whenever you like.

Well my DH has gone away for the night as hes on a course. He has never been away before so my DD was really upset, so to spoil her we've had a girly night in. We had a chinese takeaway for tea, hired a DVD of Peter Pan and got lots of sweets. DD quite enjoyed herself as she is also sleeping on her Daddys side of the bed to keep it warm for him and she was allowed to stay up late. Somehow I think she'll be asking him to go away more often.
My DD started school on Tuesday, so I've been quite emotional all week as shes not my 'baby ' anymore, but shes enjoying it and I suppose she had to grow up one day

Hope everyone else is OK

Hi all!

Carlac - Welcome to the 2nd trimester. Read about your scan on 1st tri thread. Glad to hear your little 'Ruud' and 'Rooney'(!) are doing ok!!

Smita - Hope all goes well today with your doppler and checkup. Like Little P says it is an emotional moment hearing the heartbeat for the first time. I found it made things more real than my 20 wk scan!
Me and DH have completed painting the kitchen and other odd jobs, but still lots to do! I just want to get everything sorted now what needs doing, then can concentrate on the nursery towards the end of the year. My mum says ive got the nesting instinct already! Not long now until your DH comes home!

Gen & Gavin - The roll call is an excellant idea. Thanks for starting that off. Its good to keep note of everyone. Glad all ok with your little one.

Jessica - Great news on your scan and that your choronic bleed is sorting itself out! Look after yourself.

Julie - I cant believe it when I watch the TV and see whats happening in New Orleans. Its awful. I feel so sorry for all those poor people caught up in it. Hope that Mil is ok and just too busy to post.
Ive discovered my pain in my L hip and sacrum is probably due to something called 'posterior pelvic pain'. I found the details on www.babycentre.co.uk. It describes my symptoms. It is especially worse at night and if I lie on my back. The website also mentions symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, which Susie has talked about, so its worth a look.
Hope your twins are ok. You must be getting a lot bigger now!

Susie - Sounds like you had a great girlie night with your DD. I can imagine her starting school is really emotional for you. Its the first big step to independence I suppose. Mind you, it wont be long now before it all starts again for you!!

Little P - Hope your cold doesnt hang around too long! At least you've had it before your holiday. Look after yourself.

Take care

Thanks Kim

My Midwife phoned today to check that I was feeling ok - she was absolutely terrific and very reassuring. I am seeing her soon and I can't wait.

We're off for the weekend so just wanted to wish everyone a lovely time.

Big hugs to all

Little P
