Hi all,
Just back from my scan..
the worries overshadowed the happiness..
Just that now the fluid seems to be further down- the doc said what it means is my placenta is not working as well as it should.. They were reassuring- have actually told me to lay off the computer for a while.. but this is my only source of entertainment! Anyway, will cut it down drastically-anything for a healthy baby!
They've called me back in 3 weeks for a check up..My next scan is only at 24 weeks- how am I going to surive the worrying until then?
Well having dh with me shd help a bit- 1 week to go!Since they're waiting until 3 weeks for a check up and 7 weeks for a scan, perhaps its not soo worrisome? i dont know what to think..On the positive side, heard the heartbeat for the firsttime- strong and steady-was an awesome experience- no tears- just happiness- and again worry as before I heard the heartbeat, the doc was saying the fluid is just enough now..so that sent me into worryland!

Sorry no personals this time-when I feel a little less scatterbrained..
Thanks for listening..
Hope you ALL are doing great and have a LOVELY weekend!

Smita - If the docs are waiting til 24 weeks for the scan I dont think they sound too worried so try to relax a bit. When you're DH is here you'll have so much catching up to do you wont have time to come on the computer!
Have a good weekend everyone

Hi all,
Susie,
I'm counting on that too- that they're only going to check in 3 weeks and scan in 7 weeks so maybe its not really bad..Your DD seems to have had fun!Is she happy going to school or does she cling to you?
Little P,
Enjoy your weekend!Hope your cold is lots better now.Your midwife sounds very caring..
Kim,
How're you?I guess your hip pain is only going to get worse as the baby grows- or is that not the case?
Julie, how are the twins-hope you manage to get some sleep at night..and yes the hurricane seems to have wrecked havoc there- I hope MIL is doing ok..
talking of twins,
Carla, WELCOME to the more relaxing but still worrisome part of pregnancy!
Jessica,
at least one bit's sorted out..are you still spotting or soemthing?
Esther how goes it with you and work?
Gen and Gav,
Have a lovely relaxing weekend..
Sher,
Silent.. hope youre fine.
HM r u ok?

Have a Good weekend everyone!!

Smita

You look after yourself - I know it's hard the idea of not being on the computer so much, but if it helps your baby it's worth it - remember you are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. We value you too much to ever forget you here!!! :D

As Susie says - if they were really concerned they wouldn't make you wait until 24 weeks, so try and seek some comfort from that.

1 week and the main man is back - yeh :D :D

Take care

Little P

Hi Ladies,

Well I guess it's time to move on to the 3rd Trimester thread. I just want to say it's been so nice to hear everyone's experiences and showing all of your wonderful support! We are all truly blessed to have our babies growing inside us and despite all the worries the end result will be worth it. I wish you all the very best throughout the following months. God Bless all of you! Talk to you soon!

Thanks for such an inspirational e-mail Christine.

Had a 19 week scan yesterday. They took all the measurements and everything is A-OK so I am feeling a bit more relieved. We even got to see the four chambers of baby's heart and its kidneys. Technology is truly amazing. I think it is a girl and my DH thinks it is a boy. The u/s technician says that one of us is right.

I am officially in maternity clothes now and thought the day would never come.

Smita - Sounds like you need some tlc and I am sure DH will give that to you. Try not to worry too much and enjoy every minute of your pregnancy. Easier said than done, huh? If you get to the point that you are worrying too much, you should request an earlier scan to put yourself at ease. Not fair to you and baby to be stressed.

K - Sounds like you are having fun getting things ready. My DH's parents are visiting and they are doing quite a bit of work around our house while I am out at work. The construction makes me nervous, but in the end it will be great.

Julie - I have pretty bad hip pain when I sleep and some nights I find myself switching sides quite often. It comes and goes though. One thing I am happy about it that my ligament pain has subsided. It was quite painful.

Hope everyone else is doing well. I cannot believe I am just about halfway there. . .

Hi everyone

Smita - I hope you and baby are ok - and that you are taking it easy! I think as Susie said, they cant be that worried if they are leaving you for 3 weeks before checking you again and 7 weeks until a scan. Hopefully, they are just been cautious. Like Little P says, you and the baby come first so just rest yourself and enjoy DH been home! Will be thinking of you.
My hip pain will probably get worse as I get bigger, so im going to try yoga and aquanatal classes to help. Thanks for asking!

Christine - Congratulations on reaching the 3rd trimester! Hope to join you in approx 6 weeks!

Sher - The scan is wonderful isnt it? So detailed. Its another step to it all becoming so real! Hope all goes ok with your house construction.

Hope everyone else is ok. Hope you had a good weekend away Little P, make the most of it while you can!!
Minnow - Is your scan this next week? Hope you are ok.

hi girls, how are you all? especially hoping that Smita isnt reading this and is resting, but in case you're cheating then sending you lots of love and best wishes. as the others said, the lack of urgency from the doctors seems a good sign.
in spite of this miserable weather i am feeling great. the sickness is starting to subside and i'm only vomitting a couple of times a week now, which believe me is a massive releif! i'm also staring to get some energy back and all of this is better late than never as we're moving on friday!

felt a couple of bubbly pops inside at the end of last week and now since yesterday, i've had what can only be mini kicks which are subtle but gorgeous! is this what other people are feeling? i've got a bit of lower back pain but other than that feel pretty good. have got some lovely maternity clothes now so am starting to feel like a gorgeous girl again(!!). my husband is also benefitting from my new found energy after I have been too sleepy to pay him much attention in months!!

my scan is on weds (thanks for remembering kim) and i am excited but a bit apprehensive in case they find anything. we dont think we will find out the sex but i'm worried my gp husband will cheat and find a way..will have to warn them not to let him have a glimpse down below!!

i went with my sister who is 9 weeks pregnant to look at buggies at the weekend- how confusing!! has anyone got a clue what they are getting yet or any recommendations? so much choice. where i am living at the moement loads of people have the bugaboo frog and i must say i'm rather tempted by the new chameleon coming out, but it is rather expensive! any tips very welcome...

well, wishing you all a lovely remainder of the weekend. i must return to sorting out the contents of my freezer and filling boxes. will try and pop on soon to see how you are all doing.

looking forward to joining Christine on the 3rd tri soon.

Smita,

Sorry I missed your earlier postings. I do hope you and your baby are ok. You don't know how serious is the placental fluid problem, but if your doctor wants you to go back check up in 3 weeks & 7 weeks, I think you are not that bad. Try not to worry too much, just relax and wish for the best of the baby.

I have to go back to see my specialty doctor every week from week 16 to 24. She wants to observe me for that long period. I worried to death before the follow up scan, but after seeing the baby's safe and sound, I felt much better. I think that going back to doctor once a week still puts me in high risk category, but at least I can see my baby very often, so I don't worry too much. I guest your situation isn't too bad; just be patient when waiting for your next scan.

Wish you best best luck. Take care yourself and the little one, relax and be happy.

Hello All
HM - Glad to see you posting and that you're OK
Smita - I'mOK about my DD at school, but I'm sad on Fridays as we used to have girly fun days but this friday I was home alone all day just cleaning and things :( Why did the doc say you shouldnt be on the computer, why is it bad for you. I like being here as being in the hunched up position makes my bubs move more so if I havent felt him move all day then I go on the computer and he kicks me like crazy!
Sher - Glad the scan was all OK it is truly wonderful isnt it?
Christine - Enjoy youre time in the third tri. Its nearly all finished for you now!
Minnow - Good luck with the scan, but I'm sure all will be well.
I too went looking at prams and things this weekend. I havent bought a thing yet as we were waiting for the 20 week scan coz of our troubles, but unfortunately for DH and his credit card there will be no stopping me now! We have a 3 in 1 pram from when DD was a baby. We bought this as the travel systems are not good to have baby in for long journeys as the scrunched up position of being in the car seat gives them back problems, but as I want a new pram for this little one i will be buying a travel system for little journeys and using my pram for long walks.
Everything else I will be using DD's as I dont want to go back to work until my baby will be 2 so we are trying to economise, as this will be my last baby I want to be at home for as long as possible.
We also agreed this weekend that our little DS will be called Jacob. It seems to be the only name we can agree on!

Hope everyone else is OK

Hi all

We had a lovely w/e away with my parents and parents-in-law - it was really good fun.

Glad to see that HM is doing ok - you take care of yourself and your special little person. It's to hear that they are going to keep a close eye on you and give you reassurances that all is going well.

Smita - nearly time for DH to be with you, keep getting that rest and take care of yourself.

Christine - good luck with the 3rd Trimester, hope you are feeling ok and not suffering in any way.

Susie, Sher, Minnow, Julie, Esther, Jessica (and anyone I've forgotten  ) I hope that you are all ok and looking after yourselves.

Having had a large bump for ages, it feels as though I've stopped growing - did anyone else go through phases like this. I think I'm starting to worry all over again

Anyway hugs to you all.

Little P

Gavin

Thank you so much - it's nice to hear reassuring stories. I guess it's because I've had a bump since 6/7 weeks I now can't see the changes going on. Maybe if I stopped looking for a few days that would help  no chance!!!

I'm so pleased that Gen is doing ok - not long now till your 20 week scan is it - bet you can't wait.

Big hugs

Little P

HM,
good to see you back!and sounding so positive!Thank you for the reassurances..I'm trying to be positive as well..
Susie,
Have fun shopping and Jacob is a lovely name!!I don't know why the doc said not to stay at the comp- she just said she feels theres some connection with computers and women not doing too well.. but another doc reassured me that there was nothing wrong with browsing- anyway am playing it easier now..
