Hi all

Went for my day 9 scan today and still only 9 follies but they are growing..

Hopefully still on for EC next wednesday.
Thanks to all the support about the number of follies I do still feel a little inadequate when you are all having 15 + , but hey ho... maybe more on the next scan

DebraP - Hope you are feeling better and no more hot flushes.

K - good luck with your pregnancy - will be thinking of you..

Good luck and best wishes to everyone else as well.

And for those who want to know I have had no side effects with any of the drugs except since starting stims have become very very tired. I guess I have been very lucky by the sounds of what some people have gone through.

Karron, I just checked my timetable and yes, it looks like clinics like to see AF within 10 days of starting DR.

Pootle, stop with the negativity   you've a great number of follies. The problem with follies is it can easily tip from being a good number to being too many and then you're in trouble. Be happy!!

Went for my blood test today, I've got to call and check all OK before starting stims/Puregon on Wednesday.

Hope we're all ready for a fabulous weekend,
hugs
Debra.

Pootle the 2ww will be MUCH easier to deal with whilst chatting with other waiteess on the 2ww thread.

I always keep busy during my 2ww, not everyone's way of handling it but I go back to work for at least the 2nd half, I also keep busy. Before Sandra rushes here to add more detail, yes I did some snow shovelling in my last 2ww and still got a lovely +ve. It was nothing to do with my activities that caused the ectopic.

Not long now....if you know you get bored, why not go to the library and take out 10 books and read at least some of them? or borrow dvds from people you know....nice gentle films though. Nonsense like 'You've got mail' and 'Pride & Prejudice' please vs. Scream 3!! I've just ordered a load of books from Play.com (they deliver their lovely discounted books free of delivery. Books are triple UK prices here in Norway due to import tax so this is a source of HUGE joy for me). If you want any recommendations, I've just finished 'Small Island' by Andrea Levy (it won last year's Whitbread) and thought it was fabulous. Also 'The Known World' by Edward P Jones was totally amazing. It won a Pulitzer so I'm not alone in thinking it great.

Must stop waffling on.... :)
hugs
Debra

Hi Sept-embies,

Great to catch up with you all. Hope you are all doing OK.

I went for blood test and scan to check that I could start stims and all seemed to go OK - so I can start with the injections tonight. Am quite apprehensive though DH has agreed to do injections, which helps a bit. Will then have to go into clinic for daily blood tests, so I guess this is where the hard work starts! Am going to struggle to drink the 3 litres of water they recommend!

Debra - Have been reading Small Island too, though not finished yet - thought your other suggestions were great. Thank you! Good luck with your scan on Wed too.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone. Take care.

Hi ladies :D I am happy to report that 13 out of 15 eggs have fertilized...without ICSI! This is a huge deal for us...as when we started my husband's sperm was so low that ICSI was a definite, and my first IVF they found I had an endometrioma on my left ovary and they only retrieved 6 eggs. I am so happy that my surgery in July is having such a positive effect. All of this is making it very easy to have a pma, but I hope I am not setting my self up for a let down  They have frozen 7 of the embies, and as of today 5 out of the 6 remaining are still growing and doing well. I will be going in for my transfer tomorrow at 8:15 AM ECT. Keep your fingers crossed for me :D

Pootle - that is a great amount of follies! The fact that some of us are having larger numbers does not make it better. My sister-in-law only had 3 follies, 3 eggs retrieved with only one doing well...all three were transferred and they got pregnant with just that one good one! Keep smilin! You're doin great :D

Puddin - I did not have any negative side effects to the Gonal F. The only discomfort is as your follies begin to grow you may feel a little tender and bloated in your abdomen. Only the Lupron stunk for me...terrible headaches and hot flashes...

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well!

Morning Girls,

Brs888, way to go. Your embies sound fantastic. I'll be thinking of you and wishing you lots of baby dust in the following days. Good luck with your et today

Hey Debra, how are you this morning? How was your blood test? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that your results are great and you can start tmt right away! :)

Coleen, I hope your migraine is gone today and that your feeling alot better. I really hope it's your last af for the next year as well.

Sue, good idea not to drain the tuna outside. Also, nice to hear that you have some time coming up soon where you can relax a bit. About my blood test, i'm not sure yet but am hoping to test on or around 9-27 I'm doing ok, thanks for asking. I'm not sure how i'm really feeling. I'm trying to stay positive but i'm just so scared that it's going to be months before I can try again. It all depends on fsh. Don't ya just hate this waiting game.

Hi Judy, wonderful that your starting your injections! I just love that part "not" lol. Awwww, it's all good though, one step closer. Good luck to you.

Pootle, glad to hear your thinking more positive re: number of follies. Don't forget, it's not the number, it's the quality. I only had 9 as well so don't ever feel inadequate.

Well septembies, that's it for me today. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend wherever you are, doing whatever your doing. Talk to you all soon. Keep up the PMA

Lots of Huggs

Hi everyone

brs888 - welcome back - i was just thinking about you yeaterday wondering how you had got on. What wonderful news - WOW 13!. well done. I will be thinking of you for your ET. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Debra - How was your test? start stims yet? Thanks for your kind words and support and also the suggetsions of what to do when I am bored. Unfortunately I am not a book worm in fact struggle reading magazines to be honest.
I do however like films - unfortunately horror and action.. I will try some of the ones you have suggested though.
I will also buy some puzzle books as these are what I am addicted too. I will probably play my playstation too. ( I am probably a bit too old to be playing one of those - I know :)
Never think that you waffle - it is good to talk (I sound like a TV advert now :))

Judy - Great that you are starting injections, I do mine and find it very easy now. At first I was concerned but I think you are brave letting someone else do them for you. I couldn't do that I much prefer doing them myself. Good luck and hope you don't have any adverse side effects.

Paula - Thank you for your kind words. I am now focusing on the EC - I am a bit nervous as they put you completely under at our clinic and I have never had a general anestetic (spelling?)

Does anyone ever manage to drink 3 litres of water a day? I am stuggling with this. I am however eating lots of food with protein - but it is hard being a vegetarian. I have to eat lots of nuts and beans and this has a very embarrassing effect on my digestive system

all the best to everyone. hugs ({) (})

Pootle,
Just wanted to tell ya that I'm guzzling close to 6 litres a day  - as per docs advice..But thats about 4 litres of water and the rest is fluids like juices, milk etc
So it'll help you get prepared for whats up ahead- only the trips to the loo are very irritating!

brs888, well done!
Wishing all of you good luck this cycle.. Your time is HERE!!

hi Septembies,

Good to see so many are progressing nicely.

Smita - 6 litres  you must be permanantly on the loo!!!, but well done.

Pootle - i dont manage to drink loads but i started taking squash to bed with me and carrying a bottle of water everywhere, it helps to remind me to drink more.

Paula - The waiting is the hard bit and it sucks, but hoping and praying that fsh is fine and that you can start again. Thinking of you

Sorry must dash off to tesco for brekkie, will pop in again later

Love

Hi everyone,

Pootle - thanks for your good wishes for the injections. The first one went OK yesterday, though the whole process is really fiddly (was terrified DH was going to kill me by injecting massive air bubble!!) However as for the water thing that seems really difficult. I can manage about 2 litres but they recommend 3 plus a litre of milk! Feel like I might explode!

Great to hear from you Paula. Hoping that it all works out with your FSH. I agree about the waiting too - it seems that great patience is a must for anyone undergoing IVF.

Fantastic news about the follies brs888. Wishing you loads of luck and baby dust for the next couple of weeks.

Hope everyone else is doing well too...really thinking of you all.

Hi all,

Paula - My brekkie was lovely, i had bacon, egg sausage and beans, yes i am trying to be healthy, but have given up with the lack of a kitchen. brother in law came around today and pulled the ceiling down, so now it really is a shell and very dusty (again). But like they say things have got to get worse before they get better!!! Tomorrow he is going to do the electrics, so we wont have a sink but we will have numerous sockets :D It is really nice to see you about again. Judy reminded me of you and your injections, you were very funny, i bet you didnt think so though!!

Judy - glad your injection went well, i have my first one tonight, very scarey. Are you taking Gonal f or Menapur? Im having menapur, got to have 4 powders, will soon find out how my maths is. If its not very good i will be in hospital due to over stimulation :? Have they said when your EC is likely to be? Mine is sometime week beginning 19th, presuming all is going to plan.

brs888 - 13 is a fab number well done. Nice knowing that the surgery had a positive effect, makes it worthwhile. Hope your ET has gone well and your not feeling uncomfortable. Take it easy and lots of PMA

Debra - How are you doing? Looking forward to getting to the next stage, not long now.

Have fun, love
