Good morning Septembies :D

Jay sorry i cant help about the massage stuff i have never had one done, although i cant see why it would affect anything as its just a way of relaxing, but hopefully someone more knowledgeable wil come along soon.

:?: Can someone please give me a step by step account of how to do injections, yes i have been DR for nearly 7 weeks but just realised im not sure if i have been doing them right  With DR drugs i normally get the right amount in the syringe, get rid of air bubbles and then change the needle, but am i supposed to push the liquid up through the needle a little before i inject? Thats the part i havent been doing and suddenly thought about last night when i came to do stimms one. I cant remember if it was the nurse who said i should push liquid up till a drop or 2 comes out or if i have heard it here.

Well first injection went fine although i did manage to lose a bit, it is hard with all the mixing, hopefully tonight the technique will of improved

thanks again,

love

Hi Sue ... I do usually push a drop or two out, but I'm sure what you've been doing is just fine. Why do you change the needle after drawing up the drug ? I draw up and inject with the same needle ..

Hi everyone

Jay - Just wanted to say that I had regular massages during IVF treatment to help relax me. (Im also an aromatherapist). I would mention to the therapist if I were you that you are going through IVF. It depends what they are using, but as far as aromatherapy is concerned I just made sure I avoided any oils which might have an effect on hormones. I stuck to citrus oils mainly. I would however avoid any massages during your 2ww and if you get pregnant, the 1st trimester. Good luck!

Good luck to everyone else undergoing treatment, keeping my fingers crossed for you all.

Take care

I'm fine thanks Sue. I always find it strange how we're all shown different ways ... I suppose that's what make the world go around .. (that, and Baileys Irish Cream !).

Hi Sept-embies

Three stims injections down, and slowly getting over the terror! So far, so good. Even managing to drink most of the water!

Sue - I am taking Merional. So far, 3 powders each day. Not sure when my EC will be, they said that stims would last 10-12 days, so probably will be about the same time as you. Have been trying to do the Zita West visualisation technique - have you tried it! (ie. focussing all that PMA on growing the follies!)

Paula - DH is now a real pro with the needle! Shame he hasn't taken to cooking and cleaning so well!

Everyone else - take care, and lots of PMA!

Sue

Just to let you know I used to have to draw the drug up with a green needle (1.5 inches) and inject with a blue needle (1.25 inches) so I think you're having a similar system to me. The reason they suggested changing the needle head for me was that it was slightly smaller to inject with and less likely to cause the pain - believe me that worked :D

Hope all you other Septembies are doing well.

Lisa - Good luck with EC. Here's to your big Harvest.

Hello Septembies, Just on my way to bed but had to come in and check on you. Everytime each of you has something happening I get so excited for each of you.

Lisa, I'm wishing you the best of luck tomorrow for your et. Don't be afraid of anesthetic, you'll be fine! You can do it. You go Girl! My prayers are with you!!

Smita, how are you doing? How are you feeling? You'll have to write me a message and tell me how your going. Thanks for thinking of me. Only 11 more bc pills to go. Yay!!

Judy, nice to hear your getting over your terror with the injections  You can do it! You go girl!! Lucky for you, you have a dh that's so good at giving them :) As for cooking and cleaning, well you never know what will happen next

Sue, sorry I can't give you any advice on the needle situation, except to say that I was also told to push the first bit out to get the air bubbles out. Only problem was though, even when I did that I could still see air in the needle. Hence my fear about air bubbles in my blood and me dying on the spot  Awww well, at least I know I wasn't the only one here who had that thought! Haha  Hope your doing well. How's the house coming?

Well that's it for me girls, I just have to say a quick goodnight to one more thread and i'm off for the night. I'm thinking about all you septembies and wishing you loads of PMA and babydust. Take care..

Huggs to you all

Hi everyone

I just had my scan and I am taking the HCG injection tonight 4:15am (whats all that about!! HOW EARLY).
I will be having EC on Wednesday as planned and am very nervous about going under (my first time). Nurse says she will write how many eggs they get on the back of my hand so I won't keep asking her when I wake up.

Smita - check out my predictions for Belgium GP earlier in the thread - first time I think I have ever predicted a 1st 2nd and 3rd. May be I am on a roll.. Also felt a bit sorry for JPM but sometimes I think he makes his own trouble.

Lisa - How did your EC go? How many fertilised. Been thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed. Please tell me what anesthesia was like.

Judy - glad you are managing with the injections. I still have no idea how you can let someone else do them for you.. :)

Sue - Hope all is well with the injecting now.

Everyone else - thinking of you too... Good Luck
