K - Congrats on feeling the little squirm. Believe it or not, I felt it since 16 weeks. It has seemed to slow down a bit for me and of course I worry. The best time is when I am driving home from work or going to bed. Then I can really focus on movement. I am really looking forward to the first kick. So exciting!

Smita - Sorry to hear about your DH not arriving as soon as you prefer. I am sure you can smooth things out with him and look forward to the amount of days you have to spend together. Try not to stress about it if you can.

DH and his dad have begun construction in the baby's room. We decided to install a full wall closet to get some more storage room out of our somewhat small home. I called home from work today and heard all kinds of tools going off. Our house has been a construction zone for a couple of weeks so I am looking forward to having it all done and welcoming the new addition to our home!!

Hi all,
Sher, Kim and Lil P,
THANK YOU!! YOU girls ROCK!!
I'm sorry abt moaning on yday, but I knew you'd understand and give me that support which you did..THANKS!!

Well, theres good news in the sense that dh is coming next friday now,and for a week,so basically I'll have to wait longer but as you al say, it'll be special- The bestest part is he'll be able to come with me for my 30th sept checkup when i'm going to request for an unscheduled scan to check on the fluid and we can see our baby together :D
I hope the amniotic fluid problem settles down by then- I always feel that if dh is around NOTHING goes wrong..so..
I guess, everything happens for the BEST!
P hows your bump? back to growing now? And when are you off to paint Marbella red with dh and bump? Will miss you!

Kim , the squirming sounds wonderful.. I think I have a long way to go- I'm big built- a size 14 usually and so it'll be a long wait till I can feel the baby as per the book..
Sher, you're working too? And have you decided to paint the nursery as well? As in, do you know whether you're having a boy or a girl?
Its such fun isn't it?Makes it all seem so real..

I know it's longer to wait, but I am so pleased for you that DH will be able to be with you at the next scan - he won't believe the difference!!! :D

It'll be a very special moment for the 2 of you.

We go on 23 September to Marbella and I can't wait. I've got a lovely wardrobe of summery maternity clothes that DH has bought me and I want to wear them all NOW, but I'll wait!!!!

I had those familiar stretchy feelings yesterday again so hopefully that means another growth spurt is taking place. My bump is very, very obvious now and nothing much will stop people noticing it - although after all this time of waiting I just love rubbing it and making everyone aware that "bump" is there

Hope you are all doing ok - it's going to be a wet one here today.

Gavin and Gen

That's wonderful news and a very beautiful name too.

I am so glad that the tests came back showing no problems - it's a horrible and anxious wait!!

Hope Gen is feeling ok

Glad Gen is doing well - bet she can't wait for the 20 week scan.

Gavin and Gen -
Congratulations on a successful test and your baby girl! You have selected a beautiful name as all of our babies are such 'gems' to us.

Smita -
Good news on DH being able to join you on your next scan. It will make it all so real for BOTH of you. We are not finding out the sex of our baby, but have decided to paint the room a smoky blue/green color - Celtic Sky is the paint color name. I just wanted to go with something very soothing. DH thinks it is a boy; I think it is a girl. So far we selected Alexander Paul for a boy and thinking about Sienna Marie for a girl. All that is still being tossed around though.

Little P -
Have a wonderful holiday. You sure do get to travel a lot.

Gavin,
Excellent news on the results of the amnio-you and gen must be so relieved! And Gemma Alba is a lovely name..

Sher,
Sounds like a lovely colour for your baby's room..And the names you've picked tentatively sound great- Alexander is one of my favorite names..

The count is 2 girls(Kim and Gen/gav) and one boy(Susie) so far!!
Anyone else know what baby they're having yet?

Lil P, did you notice a "little R" on the gen forum?? :D And she's called Rebecca!! you're Rebecca as well, I think, yes? Or so i thought.. becky was short for rebecca..
Oh, so you're leaving this friday.. Will miss you..
When are you back?

Kim, how're you? Hip pain ok?

I still tend to sleep on a part of my tummy on nights I cant get proper sleep.. I just hope that the reduction in fluid has nothing to do with that..

Susie,HM, Julie,Jessica, Esther, Carla,Mil, Minnow
how are you all?

8 nights to go..

Sher

We haven't been on holiday since November last year - we go away at the w/e to stay with DH's parents once a month because they live on the coast and we don't get to see them that often otherwise. I just can't wait to get away - DH has been working so hard it will be nice to see him just relax and chill out for a while.

Smita

We go Friday week (23 Sept) - I think the same day your DH is back!!! I'm like you now, counting down the days, hours, minutes, seconds ....

We've decided NOT to find out the sex - I really wanted to, but DH doesn't so I thought it was only fair to keep it a secret. Either way it will be the most wonderful miracle ever!!!

Hope you are all ok

Hi everyone!

Gen and Gavin - Such a relief your amnio results are ok! And fantastic you are having a girl! Your tests will also be definite of the sex as well, where they can get it wrong at a scan. Im hoping not now, seen as I have been given lots of pink baby clothes!!

Smita - Im not a small build, so hopefully you wont have to wait too long to feel your baby. Great news about your DH! It will be worth the wait, especially if he gets to come to your checkup! I still lie half on my side and also half on my tummy. Im sure if you are comfortable it will be ok. I remember my midwife friend advicing me just to be careful lying on my back as I get much bigger, since the weight of the baby presses on major blood vessels, and can cause you to pass out!! Hip pains not too bad at the moment thanks. Seem to be sleeping better as well!

Sher - Talking of names, we have agreed on 'Jenna Grace' for a girl and had agreed on 'Joshua Luke' if it was a boy. Originally, even before we started IVF, I had wanted 'Isabel Grace' for a girl, but a friend of mine has named her baby Isabelle. (She didnt know I wanted that name) Because she is moving into the same area now and I will hopefully see more of her, it didnt seem a good idea having 2 Isabels!

Little P - Not long until your holls, hope the weathers good for you!

Hope everyone else is ok!
Take care
Love Kim

Kim

I'm glad you mentioned that you still lie on your side/tummy - I have always been unable to lie on my back or tummy directly and seem to permanently end up in the foetal position. I will check with the Midwife when I see her next that she is ok about it!!

There's always something new to think about isn't there?

Your chosen names are absolutely gorgeous - it is such a difficult thing to decide on isn't it? We're writing down the ones we like at the moment and are hoping we find some common ground :!: :!:

Take care all

Great names Kim. You couldn't go wrong with either one. You may just get to use both of them someday. . .

Hello All,
Hope you're all OK. I've started a new due dates list so if anyone else isnt on there and wants adding just add your date to the thread and I'll add your date on. I like looking at it, coz you can count how many people are in front of you, and you get dead excited when someone has a baby and its one less to go until your turn!

I've been very weepy this morning, I think its part hormones, but partly coz my DD is at school. We used to spend Fridays together but this morning I had to put her in school and shes so tired she didnt really want to go.
I too am getting tired, I think its probably because I've now started waking up in the night to go to the loo, something I've never done, but then again, getting out of bed once is nothing compared to what it'll be like when bubs comes!

Anyway have a good weekend all

Hi everyone - I had promised myself that I wouldn't move here until after my nuchal scan next Thursday but then I started thinking that it was a bad omen to expect something to be wrong so I've posted on here as a good luck thing to show that I'm expecting everything to be fine! Superstitions are such annoying things aren't they? I've been browsing on here for a while and keeping in touch with how you more advanced people are doiing but this is my first official post in the 2nd tri - Hurrah!! I still can't believe I'm here and quite often find myself just grinning away. Anyway, nice to meet you all lots of love Cherylxx
