Hi Everyone and welcome Rebecca
Zita West book gives very concrete advice, I think. You don't have to follow all her advice, just pick out what is best for you. There are lots of facts as well as advice too.

Went for counselling session with nurse yesterday, she went thru procedure and things are alot clearer now, bit scary tho isn't it? Start downregging with suprefact injections on 28th of this month and should have AF by 12th Oct. Remembered to ask all my questions except how long it takes for egg collection procedure, can anyone answer this? Thanks

Hope you are all doing ok, i have been ill this week with infected wisdom tooth, got antibiotics but they are making me feel very sick, ugh!!!

Leigh - we should be on about the same time schedule..although I think I ovulated today..need to verify with my BBT reading tomorrow..if so then I will start DRing on Monday 26th September. AF arrived a couple of days later last cycle due to DRing...so I should be starting stims around 12 October (?).

I need to get to the pharmacy this week and order my drugs! (I just hate giving them the ton of money....)

Leigh.....re. how long EC takes. It will differ slightly from person to person depending on how many follies there are to collect from. Our approx. routine is 2ish hours tops, including coming-to time after the sedation. We get there early to deliver the semen, take the final pre-med and have a blood test.

Rebecca, Zita has a TONNE of advice so all will be explained! There are lots of tips in the Do's and Dont's thread at the top of this forum too. Just to say, your clinic will tell you what they recommend too. Some clinics suggest some bedrest, others (mine included) say 'life as normal, just don't take up any new, energetic hobbies'). Most suggest no sex for at least the 2ww although many people abstain for much, much longer!

Traci, I hope you're enjoying your visitors and the beer!

Hi Everyone

Tracii - I think I'm ovulating today or yesterday. Sorry what is difference between downregging and stimming? be nice if we are round same time. I have also paid out hefty cheque for drugs, arriving on friday so we can get started next Wed.

Debra P, when you say 2 hours, do i have to have my legs in stirrups for all that time??!!

Nes - Good luck with injections, egg collection is not far off now.

To everyone take care and PMA to you.

Leigh,
the leg in stirrups part is only when you are sedated and the process takes 20 mins or so and you wont know it..
after they finish, they'll return you to your bed in a normal sleeping position.Good Luck for starting sooon !!

Nes,
excellent news- 9 days only..any pain for a bump like you say. :D

Debra,
how are the stims going?

Tracii,
is beer allowed ??

Hello Buddies.....

Nes: I'll be thinking about you....8 days left ;-) - good luck with the injections
Debra: Thank you..have read the Dos and Donts thread...and Zita's advice...it's all a bit overwhelming. However, I like the part about avoiding the cleaning and watching back-to-back videos ;-)
Leigh: Sorry about the wisdom tooth..hope you're feeling better

:?: Sorry to ask ridiculous questions... but am not yet familiar with your terms... what is stimming? :?

Hugs to all of you,

Little R

Little R and Leigh - the downregging is the part where you basically shut down your system - sending your body into menopause..that way you are not producing any follicles/eggs. The stimulation is the next phase where after the clinic verifies that your body is shutdown, you start producing the follicles/eggs.

Smita - No worries about the beer..I will not drink much...I am not going to put all the hard work in the past months to waste :D

I will start DRing next Tuesday :D :D And acu doc said I am definitely ready :D :D :D (better blood flow and dampness in uterus is diminshed :D )

Hi all

Smita - Will have temazipam to relax me and local anysthetic (sp?) but as far as i know will be awake thru all procedure, do you think that's right?. Glad to hear it only takes 20 mins in stirrups!

Tracii - thanks for explanation, so I will be DRing from 28th and stimming from about 12th depending on when AF arrives. Lots of luck to you too

Rebecca - Wisdom tooth better but it's growing out at a weird angle so I just know it will have to be removed. Ouch!!

To everyone PMA

Leigh,
Image
depends on your clinic procedure I guess, but even then, the retrieval shouldn't take more than 20-30 mins at most- at leats that was what i was told..
A local anas and a temaz shd do fine I think.. and get your wisdom tooth removed before tmt as I think after the ET, we're not sposed to go thru any pain!

Tracii, have fun with the bier.. viel spas!( thats a bit of deutsch i remember well!!)
Nes, one week to go huh?
Yay Image

ever since sally gave out this url in november buddies, I can't seem to stop using the smilies!!

Rebecca, hows it going?
Paula,
October's your month!! :D

take care everyone..

Hi Everyone

Thanks Smita!!

I am up too early on a saturday morning!! thinking about doing housework and shopping and then going back to bed. Going to my cousins 30th birthday party tonight. Me and DH not drinking so that should be fun watching everyone else get legless, ah well hope it's that way for the next 9/10 months!! (For me anyway, DH will be back on it as soon as his job's done! :D )

Had acupuncture on Thursday, it's the third one I've had and i never feel any different, not more relaxed, tired nothing, also think i will get fed up with needles, what with injections and blood tests too. Do you still think it's worth doing acupuncture?? Would appreciate any thoughts on the matter.

Drugs arrived yesterday, I am not happy with the number of suppositories in the parcel, what we have to got through, eh!

Anyway girls, enjoy your weekend whatever you may be doing, keep up that pma :) :)

Hi everyone. How's everything going? Hope everyone is ok...

Would anyone mind if I have a moan? :?
I feel really crap today, I feel like crying... I knew that everything was going too good...

I had my 1st lots of bloods and a scan on 15th September to see if the Buserelin was working, and the hospital said that everything was quiet, and looking good 8) . I felt ok after that as I was starting to have a funny feeling, but when they said that it all looked ok I thought 'ok that's good... so far... ' So why did that funny feeling not just go away?

I've been taking the Puregon injections since the scan, and I have been finding them quite painful... I usually end up having to laugh to myself when I do them, otherwise I know that I would be crying my eyes out!!!
(did anyone else have that problem? )

I've been feeling a bit 'funny' since I've started to do the 2nd lot of jabs. my stomache has been a bit sore, and I feel like I am really bloated. My back has been playing up, and has been quite sore - just like when I am due to come on. I thought that I might feel a bit stranger than normal as my ovaries are being over stimulated, but I feel so crap right about now. I am so tired and feel really tearful all the time... AND.... to top it all off...
I had a scan yesterday to check my progress... and was told that I have about 30 small follicles and that's whay I might be a bit sore and tender.... MIGHT BE :?: :!: Course I am!!!
I had to go for a blood test and have to go for some more on monday and tuesday.... What a bloody palavah!!!

If it's not one thing its another... I had a feeling that things were going a bit too well, and my dp kept saying that everything was fine and I shouldn't worry.... but I just knew that things were going a little too well...

If things don't improve I won't be able to have the EC, and I might have to stop the treatment. I've read up a little on OHSS, and I know it can be really bad, but the hospital said they wont give me further info on it or worry about it until the results of the blood tests next week...

All I keep thinking about is 'why me?' haven't I had to endure enough???

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Hi Nes

We haven't spoken before but I wanted to say hi and to tell you to moan away. I know how you feel - we all do

The first time I had tmt (end of last year) I had lots of lovely follies like you but after three days of bloods it was abandoned - OHSS is very serious and although I TOTALLY understand how you feel honestly only abandon if they have too - are you NHS? if you are and don't get to ec it will not count as a go - no comfort I know

Sorry to sound -ve I will keep my fingers crossed that you are able to have EC next week - then we can suffer the 2WW together

Take care

October starter and new to this site - can I join in?
DR starts Oct 5th.

Does anyone else feel really removed from the whole thing? Its like IVF isnt connected to getting pregnant. All a bit surreal - just me (and some sort of subclinical depression) or this normal :?:

Also does anyone have any tips to make the side effects of treatment a bit easier :?: Are they really awful? Am worried I will grow a beard, get acne and weep until my faces dissolves.....

Good luck to everyone else on the IVF road

Welcome to the mad world of IVF Lola :!: :D

This is the place to be to get advice and support as you start your journey - it is a bit surreal - not it is not you

Please don't worry too much about side affects - everyone is different - which drugs will you be on

I have trouble with my moods - but no worse than a bit of PMT :!: :!: At the moment I have a swollen slightly aching belly but that is because I am very close to EC. I am sure there will be tears - but there will always be someone here for you

Good luck I hope you have a BFP very soon
Love
